August in the Smokies is Pure Magic
Summer isn't over yet—but the crowds are. August is one of our favorite times in the Smoky Mountains. The days are still perfect for hiking, Dollywood, and exploring Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but the evenings become cooler, making it the perfect time to relax on the deck, soak in the hot tub, and enjoy the peaceful mountain views.
One of the biggest surprises this summer has been a local mama black bear and her four cubs, who have made frequent appearances near the cabin. While wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, it's not uncommon to spot black bears, deer, wild turkeys, and other native wildlife during your stay.
At Bear Claw Vista, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds—a quiet mountain retreat that's only 4 miles from Dollywood and just minutes from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Anakeesta, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
After a day of adventure, come home to:
• A private 6-person hot tub overlooking the mountains
• A fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars
• A game loft with a multi-cade arcade, air hockey, and ping pong
• A cozy wood-burning fireplace
• Three private bedrooms—ideal for families or couples traveling together
• Long-range mountain views you'll remember long after your trip ends
Unlike many cabins, everyone gets their own private bedroom—no sleeping in an open loft - and the fully equipped kitchen, living area, smart TVs, washer and dryer, and updated bathrooms make it easy to settle in and feel at home. Whether you're planning one last family vacation before school starts, a weekend getaway, or simply need a few days to unplug, Bear Claw Vista is the perfect place to reconnect, recharge, and experience the beauty of the Smokies.
August availability is limited, and once summer is gone, it's gone. We'd love to host your Smoky Mountain getaway.
