We absolutely loved this property! It was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our children, who traveled from Nicaragua, Israel, Texas, and Florida to celebrate with us.We especially loved the convenient location. We were able to walk to downtown, and it was also very close to a church and several restaurants, which made everything so convenient.Everyone really enjoyed having their own bedroom and private bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. The living room was spacious and gave us plenty of room to relax and spend time together as a family. We truly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special milestone with our family. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic place to stay

The house is fantastic. People couldn't believe the photos we were sharing. Fantastic artwork, and the caretaker José Angelo was very helpful (but not an English speaker). About 15 minutes walk to tourist sights and restaurants. Can be a bit noisy in the 2 rooms on the front of the house. Would definitely like to stay here again!

Majestic historical property

Majestic historical property in the heart of downtown Guadalajara. Enjoy old time charm with modern convenience. I was able to house my whole immediate family in comfort and splendor. The location is perfect within walking distance to many historical sites and traditional food restaurants This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and would highly recommend it. We are planning on returning in the very near future.

Incredible historic home, live like royalty!

"The Palace" is a fitting name for this incredible historic home. Could feel the stories this building had experienced over the last century - amazing bedrooms, the 'great hall' (we called it) felt like staying in a grand resort hotel... except we had the entire hotel all to ourselves. Plenty of space to spread out, the 5 large bedrooms were perfect for our family getaway. Quiet, lovely neighborhood with a market 100m away and street food vendors on the park plaza next door every evening. Just a 20 minute walk to centro historico downtown Guadalajara, even a Walmart within half-mile in case you needed to shop for food/drink or anything else. Communication with the host was excellent, very hospitable and welcoming. Would absolutely stay again, highly recommend! You'd be challenged to find anything remotely like this house anywhere else in Guadalajara.

Big Beautiful Home!

What a gorgeous home! Nine of us traveled to Guadalajara for the International Mariachi Festival. Just walking through the front door of this amazing home was a wonderful experience. The house is huge yet it feels so warm and cozy with its beautiful architectural details. We shopped at the local market and cooked our own breakfast every morning. That alone was a wonderful experience thanks to the large open kitchen that overlooks the back yard and pool area. Every bedroom / suite is so spacious. I can't say enough nice things about this jewel of a home. I will forever be greatful for all the laughter and fun times I was able to share in this BEAUTIFUL home alongside my family.

Incredible experience, clean, safe, comfortable

We traveled from New York to experience Guadalajara for the 1st time and nothing disappointed. The villa has 5 extremely large bedrooms on 2 floors that gave our group both privacy along with plenty of spaces to gather for meals or cocktails in comfort. We loved the pool along with enormous kitchen and architectura details everywhere you look. The neighborhood as advertised is working class with repair shops on various corners but extremely interesting with a fruit market and beautiful church within 100 yards. It had a family feel and we felt extremely comfortable, safe, and never had any noise problems at night. Love, love the city itself and had some great food experiences. Favorite restaurant was probably Anita Li for their shrimp, mango tacos. Spectacular. Would also add that best way to get around is UBER and if you are not familiar with it, go to their website and add it to your phone. It's extremely cheap in this city.
Svar fra VrboOwner den 5. mar. 2020
Thank you for the positive feedback and we have some exciting changes planned for this year. I agree with your recommendation of Anita Li , also one of my favorites, and 100% with Uber as its low cost and saves the hassle and cost of renting a car. I also find the neighborhood very interesting , safe, and the city itself keeps getting better!

Details Details Details

This is a rather large nice house with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths and a pool. However, it could be outstanding with attention to the details. I wasn't aware that only 1 bedroom out of 5 had AC, other bedrooms had only a fan. The bedroom downstairs closest to the road is quite noisy at night and in the early morning. There was a rather strong odor of sewer gas in all of the bathrooms which was a surprise. The mattress of bedroom #2 upstairs was super stiff/hard and hurt my back. The towels and hand towels were air dried which made them rather stiff / hard. The owner was very accommodating and replied quickly to any requests but it would be great if he would invest in AC in the bedrooms or quieter fans. The upstairs bedrooms would be unusable in the heat of June to September even with fans. It's a beautiful property that could truly shine with attention to details.

Difficult guest that I did a lot for before and during stay. The smell was a temporary issue and many of these comments not accurate. As well as house consistently booked during summer months, I use it as well when it’s open. The house is a great deal at less than $100 per room and it’s a spectacular property.

Guadalajara 1/2022

This house is the best kept secret in Guadalajara. It's a very old home that has been renovated and it was like staying in a home from the 1800s (with modern updates) Very spacious kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces. It's in downtown Guadalajara minutes away from Tlaquepaque and Tonala. Taxi stand 1/2 block away. Angel and Andrea the property managers were very accommodating. We felt very safe being in the middle of downtown businesses. Everyone was very respectful. Thank you for sharing this historical house with us.

This house is in a wonderful convenient location! We really enjoyed the pool and the spacious kitchen. We had a huge storm on the evening of our arrival and had a few inconveniences but thanks to Jose he was very attentive and came to our needs as fast as he could! The city streets where flooded but that didn't stop Jose! Thank you so much Jose for making us feel comfortable and safe! We will definitely bring our friends and family back!

Vintage Chic

The house is picturesque and the rooms are very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the location was close to a taxi station, church, a nice Mercado and walking distance to a very good fish taco place called Fish Tacos La Paz. We enjoyed the convenience of having Angel - the groundskeeper - stock the fridge with a list of groceries we requested for a small fee as we were arriving late at at night. Angel was friendly and explained the history of the house to us. The owner messaged quickly and was very professional. We will definitely book again!

Impressive

The house is beautiful and comfortable. It was clean and the property manager was very helpful. The location is good, but Guadalajara is huge and traffic is such that it took 30 minutes plus to get anywhere in a car. The Mexicaltzingo Mercado ( 1/2 block away) was a wonderful place for finding fresh food and good breakfasts!

Gorgeous historic home

From beginning to end we completely enjoyed our experience with booking this home for part of our honeymoon. Rob the owner is very prompt, kind and professional. Angel the keeper of the grounds was incredibly nice, informative and accommodating. The pictures listed are beautiful but you truly have to walk into this home to experience the grandeur this home has to offer. The history mixed with the exquisite interior design adds to the overall experience of living like a king in a beautiful city like Guadalajara. The amenities such as pool, laundry and a/c were huge perks with this property. Even though you are right in the heart of a busy city the house remained calm, and quiet. I would strongly suggest staying here over any hotel that GDL has to offer. I look forward to booking this house again in the future!
