The location and the beach here couldn't be more special. We saw a variety of wildlife, including rays, turtles, dolphins, and more. It wasn't crowded at all, and walking over the dune to the ocean was manageable even for an 87-year-old. There is plenty of parking.
The entire home was very clean and well-designed. The elevator was particularly helpful for those in our party who couldn't manage stairs.
However, the house was more sparsely equipped compared to other places we have stayed in Gulf Shores. Although they claim the home sleeps 22, there was not enough bedding or towels for this many guests. There were 14 of us, and it was tight. There was no bedding available for the pull-out couch, nor any extra blankets.
The kitchen lacked some essentials, such as a blender, and there wasn't even a salt or pepper shaker in the cabinets. Some of the silverware and whisks appeared to have been used for mixing paint and still had paint on them. Additionally, the dishwasher didn't work, the stove was missing a knob, and the fridge was leaking. The charcoal grill was also quite dirty, which made cooking on it a chore.
Basically, if you’re within driving distance and able to bring everything you need for a beach vacation, this place is perfect. But if you’re flying in, it might be challenging to have everything you need to truly enjoy the beach as you might be accustomed to.
A note for anyone staying in the king bedroom off the kitchen: it is the loudest room in the house
