Beautiful place to stay

He had a wonderful time staying in this villa. Pyrgos is a nice quiet location with some outstanding restaurants. Host was great to deal with. Will definitely go back.

Beautiful house overlooking all of Santorini

The house was very spacious and beautiful. The host and her son were lovely. They were very accommodating and helped us with recommendations and transportation.

Amazing apartment in a beautiful location!!

The apartment is as beautiful as the pictures! Location is perfect and the furnishings are first rate! Wonderful sites, restaurants and an amazing bakery are all close by! Anastasia is so helpful arranging drivers and offering suggestions!! Only downside might be the location of a bigger grocery store. A beautiful, quiet town. Definitely hope to go back!!

Best hostess experience ever!!

This is a beautiful, comfortable, clean place that we absolutely loved! It's a village where you get to see how the locals live and the hostess is by far the most accomodating and responsive that I have ever had in all my travels! She arranged transportation, let us check in early, let us check out late, provided recommendations, etc, etc, etc!!! My only critique is that the photo from the hottub is no longer accurate due to a new hotel that has been built (see my photo). However, the view is still stunning from the roof and we would 1000% stay here again!! We loved going to the roof to see the island at night, or enjoying coffee in the morning. Highly recommend and we will daydream about returning someday. :)

Elizabeth is the best.

This flat was perfect for us. Elizabeth was very attentive and everything worked as it should. The views are fantastic and Pyrgos is a nice quiet area away from the throngs in Fira and Oia. We rented a car and that was reallly the way to go as this is up the mountain from the beaches. Fira is about a 10min drive and Oia is about 20min(Tip, there is 12 euro paid parking in Oia, use it). Google and Apple maps worked fine. Be forwarned there is a bit of a walk up to the house as it is up in town. It took a couple of days to get used to, but that was how you have the incredible views ;-) There is a cat santuary up the mountain so don't be surprised to run across kitties just about everywhere you go. The funny part was the tour groups coming by about 10am talking about the area while we were drinking coffee or the donkeys with bells coming by....Thank you Elizabeth!

Excellent location, cool and comfortable property; FANTASTIC views!

The house was in the middle of the town easily walkable to great restaurants, parking etc. Fantastic city and caldera views from the rooftop patio and nice village views from all the windows. Hot tub could have been warmer, but it was mid Sept. Prop mgr was great and very helpful.

Spectacular view

Property was perfect for two couples. Accommodations were very comfortable and up to date. The views, especially sunsets, were unbeatable! The property manager, Kostadinos, was truly a "superman" (or his twin)! He met us at check in and helped with our luggage and was also there to see us off, helping again with our luggage. This was much appreciated! Kostadinos also suggested several places to visit and shortcuts to get there. We all had a wonderful time in beautiful Santorini and enjoyed the Pyrgos Terrace House very much!

Not what we expected

we arrived to find the toilet had been used and had not been flushed and the bin was full of toilet paper with excrement .. The kettle does not switch itself off and is rusty and old ...the dishwasher filter needed cleaning and salt topping up ...the iron has exposed wires due to tangling of the chord..there was plaster coming off the ceiling and walls in all rooms ..so our first impressions were not good at all ...we all felt the same and thought it was overpriced ..our stay of two weeks with 2 of the party celebrating special birthdays and not even a bottle of wine from the owner as per one of your previous reviews ..they had candle lit villa and a bottle chilling for them ...the outside lights did not work near the jacuzzi or the entrance and the shrubs are very overgrown ...the safe was requested and it was a tiny free standing safe which was not secured to a wall therefore ineffectual...the master suite bed slats had worked loose and the mattress sank into the floor ..immediate issues of the bed was addressed .. overall we were very dissapointed ...

The rental was exactly what you saw online. Spacious and clean. Costadinos was extremely helpful!

The rental was clean and spacious with an absolut amazing rooftop that provided you with a 360 degree view of Santorini. Constadinos was extremely helpful we definitely wouldn't have enjoyed the island as much as we did without all his help/tips. Would highly recommend this place!

Fantastic location with amazing views!

We saw the sunset from many different locations on the island and the rooftop of the home is by far the best location to experience the amazing sunsets of Santorini. The home is unique and clean with great amenities. Restaurants, bakery and market are local and convenient. I would recommend this location to all friends and family and is perfect for families.

Not even sure how to review this

I reserved this vacation property in January to stay in June which was supposed to be a whole house with full kitchen and living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in a quiet village. Two days before we were to get there I was emailed by Harris telling me we could not stay in this place and had been moved to Oia. I had been communicating with him the whole time about the other property and questions I had up until a few day before I was notified of this. I could have chosen a place in Oia but decided against it because I like the quiet village. I told him I didn’t want to change and I had everything arranged out of The other property which was about 30 minutes away. He didn’t give me any choice and just kept assuring me that I would “love” it and it was so much better and more expensive than the one I had chosen. I DID NOT want to deal with this while I was already on vacation and it take up my vacation time so after many emails of expressing not happy with this change I went along with this as I didn’t seem to have a choice. We get to the place, my view off the patio is beautiful. But the actual place is much less that I wanted. Our family of 5 was given 2 small rooms that were wall to wall beds, we could barely fit our suitcases anywhere. There was one bathroom and then a toilet and shower stuck behind the bed in one of the rooms with no real doors on it. It was definitely disappointing because I was supposed to get so much more. But what really upsets me the most is that I took the time to choose my place and that I could just get moved like this. I’m sure Harris made money off of this since he probably had a bigger group stay in MY place while he squished us in the little place. It definitely scares me to use Home Away again if changes can happen like this. I made the most of my vacation and had a great time anyway but I feel like I was taken advantage of and should get some kind of compensation. If you rent from Harris be aware that this could happen to you too!

Dear Guest, I read your review with big surprise ! You write that you had a great time In oia the best place to be in the island but you write also how disappointed you were.... that does not make any sense .... to make the long story short.. 1. Due to a channel manager mistake your reservation was done to another property of us( opsis cave house ) in oia 2. We did inform you immediately when we realized that! Opsis cave is a new refurbished villa which has 2 big bedrooms 2 nice bathrooms and a phantastic huge patio with caldera view on the cliff !!! This means that this was definetely lucky for you AN UPGRADE 3.you agreed to stay there although you had alway the option to cancel 4. We run 10 properties in the island we do have 670 reviews 5 star and we have such occasions very rare , maybe 1 pct, But definetely you were good placed in this property although we admitted that was occured due our mistake we would appreciate if you were honest as your time there you spent was very pleasant and you said that everyrhing was so nice and you should not transmit another message to our future guests that you suffered!!!! ALSO 95 pct of your writing id dishonest and not true, this is sad WE RESPECT OUR CLIENTS AND OUR MOTO IS THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE ÎN THEIR VACATION THE GREATEST TIME EVER!!!

Didn't want to leave

The rooftop terrace offers a 360 view of the island, and a 210 view of the beautiful Aegean sea cobalt blue waters. It is perfect place for any part of the day (or night). Take your morning coffee there and be a spectator to the neighborhood and island waking up, the church bells ringing. Watch the ferry boats and cruise ships come and go. Be mesmerized by the adjacent islands that rise out of the Aegean, beautifully shrouded in clouds on hazy days. Sun yourself on the roof terrace deck (three very functional bean bag lounge “chairs” are provided for this purpose), take your meals (or even a siesta) there. Watch the sunset with your favorite person/drink. Hey, why not sleep under the stars there (on the aforementioned bean bag lounges)?! There is also a nice shaded courtyard with a table and fragranced by two amazing and large (4’ wide each) lavender bushes where you can escape the sun while watching the occasional donkey (saddled with luggage, a tourist, or supplies) amble by. Inside the villa is entirely updated and very comfortable - it’s like experiencing a traditional Santorini cave home but with modern finishes and conveniences. There is a sectional couch that I have never seen in an apt/villa in Europe, and never in a 2BR home anywhere. An amazing place to experience the Greek islands! We rented a car, which was a mistake. Take a ferry to/from the airport or port and utilize the nearby rent car place should you wish to explore the island.

Top of the world views, and wonderful accommodations.

The location is amazing. The manager is a delight. The view and the features of the apartment are magical. We enjoyed our stay so very much. Restaurants at your fingertips, and so much to see. We will be back.

Amazing property in Pyrgos with helpful host

Five close friends and I rented this property in June 2018 and has an amazing time! The property is located in a more quite town of Pyrgos (south of Thira). Originally we had no idea where that was and just booked the property because of the hot tub. I was glad we did because Pyrgos is more quite and quaint of a town than Thira. The property is decorated professionally with a mix of old and new. Very spacious, well lit with lots of natural light and has a hot tub and rooftop with great views. I cannot rave enough about our host Anastasia. She was amenable, very communicative and patient. Messages were returned almost instantly and she was very helpful. Anastasia arranged ground transport to and from the sea port and airport for us. She also helped us book a sailing experience. The sailing was the highlight of my Greece trip and I thank Anastasia for that. She also helped us by recommending several great restaurants that locals eat at. Her recommendations were spot on and memorable. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an authentic Santorini experience that immerses you into the culture of the island.

Paradise in Santorini

Our stay was fabulous! Beautifully decorated, comfortably equipped, with amazing views of the whole island, sunsets and located in Pyrgos , away from the crazy tourist crowd. Halfway up the donkey lane hill amidst picturesque white rock houses and small shops. Pinch me as I felt like we had stepped into a picture postcard of how you dream Greece to be. I already wish I could go back! Anastasia was a dream hostess and helped us with everything including an emergency call to the hospital when my husband fell and split open his knees the first night there. She was our guardian angel and helped us enjoy everything about Santorini despite the accident. Hospital and doctors were wonderful. On a scale that of 5 our stay here was a 10.

Wonderful Stay at Pyrgos Terrace House

We stayed for just over a week at Pyrgos terrace House at the beginning of October. We (four adults) were extremely comfortable. The house is very well equipped and any problems were resolved immediately. We enjoyed the hot tub and the spectacular views from the roof terrace to the caldera and of more or less the whole of the island of Santorini. We also enjoyed being in the village of Pyrgos, which is the former capital of Santorini and much more traditional than many of the other villages. The people there were very friendly and helpful. We used the local bus from the village square to go into Thira and across to Perissa and hired a car from the village for 3 days to visit Oia, Akrotiri and many of the other villages. We also enjoyed a sunset trip around the caldera with Barbarossa. It was a very memorable holiday.... Joan

Pyrgos Terrace House was the best! Great location high up in the hills overlooking the Caldera without all the crowds and tourists in Fira and Oia. We were able to experience the local neighborhood action, including the donkeys walking up and down the hill, from behind the privacy of the walls of the house. The house is beautifully appointed, and very clean and comfortable with all modern amenities. Beautiful bathrooms. Awesome rooftop terrace with spectacular views! The plunge pool was a great way to relax in the evening. Anastasia, the villa manager, was wonderful!! She generously arranged for several excursions to wineries, and for a sail around the Caldera. She also recommended some wonderful restaurants and arranged for dinner reservations.....including a special wedding anniversary celebration. When we arrived back at the house from dinner, we found a bottle of wine chilling, along with lit candles everywhere. It was an anniversary we will never forget! The house is a very short walk from wonderful cafes and restaurants, yet it feels very private. Staying in Pyrgos and at the Pyrgos Terrace House was the best decision we could have made! Wish we could have met Haris, who was extremely responsive answering questions we had before we arrived in Santorini. We would highly recommend Pyrgos Terrace House, and hope to return!

Stunning apartment

The views here are spectacular. The apartment is gorgeous. We loved that we were out of the bustle but had everything we needed just down the hill. Cafes, restaurants, mini market down the hill and lovely restaurants up the hill. You can catch the bus into Thira from the square at the bottom of the hill which leave approximately every 45 mins and is very cheap. We love it here and would definitely come back

Fantastic property with super views over Santorini...lovely decor...clean & all mod con

Pyrgos is a beautiful mountain village with great views of Santorini. Lovely narrow streets with quintessential Santorini buildings. Great restaurants with amazing views & not as busy as other towns such as Fira or Oia. Great to use as a base.

Best villa in Pyrgos

We just loved the village of Pyrgos, nice and quiet, not as touristy as the other ones. Staying in this villa is one of the best choices i made during this trip, we felt as part of the local life, made friends with our neighbors and restaurant hosts....and the view is just stunning from our terrace. We can't wait to go back already.
