The home was cute and spacious. We LOVED the hot tub, obviously. It was great for relaxing after a hike on the AT and other nearby trails. The proximity to town was also perfect. We enjoyed eating in town each night of our trip. The kitchen also had everything we needed for preparing breakfast and lunch.

Worth the trip

Our host was wonderful and the location ideal to the AT and we were pleased to have made the trip. Unfortunately, due to a sensitivity to mildew and all the rain in the area, we needed to cut our trip shorter than planned.

My wife and I had an amazing anniversary stay at this charming, spotless cottage in Hot Springs! The location was perfect—peaceful yet just a short walk to town and close to the Appalachian Trail. The hot tub was a highlight, with a great setup that made it even more enjoyable.Evenings spent rocking on the porch chairs, watching fireflies, were magical. Since our last visit in 2017, the town has added more amenities, and this rental made it easy to access them all.My favorite experience was a perfect day that started with tubing on the French Broad River, followed by a relaxing soak in the mineral waters at the Hot Springs Resort and Spa. We finished our day with a run through the rain to enjoy pizza and drinks at Vinyl Pies, then took a short, scenic, and less-wet walk back home!A huge thanks to Melanie, the property owner, who went above and beyond to make our stay possible. She was kind, responsive, and clearly takes pride in offering a clean, well-furnished home. Her warmth and attention to detail made our trip truly special. Highly recommend!

Wonder Cabin in Town

This is an adorable cabin right in the beautiful town of Hot Springs NC. The view from the front porch is amazing. You are in walking distance to many excellent trails. The cabin is right beside the Appalachian Trail for starters. In a five minute walk you also can be at Big Pillow Brewery, which has delicious beer and a great taco stand. In a six minute walk you can be at Hot Springs Natural Mineral Spa where you can soak in a private tub along Spring Creek. I highly recommend this special cabin in this special town.

Anniversary trip

The cottage was clean, had a nice kitchen for cooking, a pretty view, and an easy walk into town. We'll stay here again for future trips to Hot Springs.

Perfect Christmas Getaway

Beautiful little cottage right in Hot Springs. My first love and I wanted somewhere quiet to spend our first Christmas together and this place was perfect! Loved the coffee/tea bar, the bed and pillows were so comfortable (I brought my own pillow because I’m picky about that sort of thing) but I never got it out of our car! Also loved the fact that phone cords were provided! My boyfriend forgot his so that was nice! We really enjoyed the books that were there as well. Found some great stories in them. The hot tub was amazing and super private. Loved the fact we could walk into town and grab food (The grey eagle has amazing taco and burritos) and when everything was closed on Christmas Day the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything we needed to cook! Def recommend this place! Melanie was amazing!!!

Cute cottage

well equipped, had everything we needed. Cold and damp when we arrived. House has a musty smell. Could benefit from the attention of a handyman. Front door takes some work to get it securely closed, heating vents are rusty, some are hanging loose. Steps to get into the hot tub. I was unable to get in, if you're 5"4' and a little chonky like me. Owner was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat, things to do in the area.

Comfortable and convenient

We enjoyed our stay at Trailside Cottage! The AC kept us cool despite unseasonably warm temps outside. I would suggest bringing extra towels if you plan on using the hot tub or hitting some swimming holes. The house was tidy and the bathroom was clean, but there were other details that had likely been overlooked by the cleaners for several weeks. The location is great— not only for walking to town, but just a few minute’s drive away from great hiking and fishing. Would stay here again.

Cute cottage close to town

Great location!

This cabin is in a great spot within walking distance to town. It is a little musty as mountain cabins often are but otherwise very clean and comfortable.

Good place to get away too

Good location if your just looking to get away from everything and just relax a few things needed to be cleaned but we made we cleaned them I guess the house keeper/cleaning lady was in a hurry or just didnt do a thorough cleaning

Hot springs cabin

This place was incredible! Comfy beds and sofas, plenty of space, kitchen was perfect, hot tub out back, what more could you ask for? Waking distance from beautiful lovers leap and the Appalachian trail.

Girls Weekend Away

Our weekend at Hots Springs was amazing. The house worked well for everyone, super close to downtown and trails. Loved hanging out on the porch and around the fire pit. Melanie was very attentive to all our needs. Would definitely come back. Thanks for everything!

Situated directly on the Appalachian Trail and a short five minute walk to down town Hot Springs and all attractions. This cozy cottage is just right for that romantic mountain getaway or family vacation fun. Outdoor hot tub just steps outside your back door. Relax on the rocking chair front porch with a good book or for good conversation. Full size/ fully equipped kitchen. Take a long relaxing bath in the 100 year old clawfoot bathtub. The decor of Trailside Cottage reflects the Appalachian Trail, rafting and outdoor highlights of the area. This 1940's cottage furnishings are in keeping with the era yet boast modern Smart TV & You Tube Channel, DVD player and secured wi-fi. Return again and again to Trailside Cottage as your home away from home.
