Another wonderful stay at the Southern Buckeye! This is our second time staying here, and once again, it did not disappoint. The home is beautiful, spacious, clean, and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. It’s the perfect place to spend quality time with family, make memories, and enjoy the beach. We always feel right at home and truly appreciate the attention to detail. Thank you for another amazing stay! We look forward to coming back again!

The home was absolutely beautiful, spotless, incredibly comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need—and more.You can tell so much thought and attention has been put into every detail of the home. It was perfect for our family and truly felt like a home away from home for the week.The communication and hospitality were also 10/10 from beginning to end. We had the most wonderful week and are already looking forward to coming back!

We’ve vacationed to Ocean Isle for many, many years and decided to try a different part of the island. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat, this is the place. The house was very clean and had beautiful views of the marsh. Since there weren’t homes surrounding us on all sides, we felt like we had privacy. The stocked fridge with beverages was a nice touch and greatly appreciated. When we first arrived, we had a problem with the hot water. Communication with Dave was easy and he quickly resolved the issue. The hot tub was nice for aching joints and the indoor games were fun for all ages. Many of us had never played table shuffleboard and quickly became addicted. Thank you for a relaxing vacation!

We have been coming to OIB for fifty years and this was the best house ever! The house was, beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked! We really enjoyed our time there!

The property is super clean. The host was very responsive when we had a question. Plenty of room for our family to spread out. Comfortable beds and quality bath towels. Great view of the sunset. Beach was a few blocks away in walking distance. Tiki bar with the tv was great for March madness!

We loved everything about the house! It was exactly what we wanted. The kitchen was a dream to cook in , the heated pool and hot tub were loved by all ! We loved riding the bikes and playing all the games provided both inside and outside. We had ages ranging from 57 to 4 and there was something for everyone. Communication with the owner was also very easy and Mr.Dave always answered immediately. I recommend this house to anyone who wants a stress free and family friendly place to stay!

Exceptional Property

As advertised. Quiet location, but still close to the beach. Great bedroom configuration where teenage kids all stayed on the middle floor and had their own family room. Pool and pool area a great option when tired of the beach. Owner communication was above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Luxurious rest and relaxation

The Southern Buckeye is such a beautiful home with incredible amenities. The host is extremely attentive and responsive. Check in and check out were seamless! I would recommend renting a golf cart. You won’t regret staying at this home !!

Senior trip

We brought our son and his friends that graduated High School all the way from Utah to enjoy the east coast. It was amazing! The house was a perfect set up for parents upstairs and boys on the main level. This house had everything!!! The boys enjoyed the corn hole, Hot tub, bikes, etc…..It was a trip we will all remember and a house that was perfect!

We have stayed on the east end of OIB for the last 4 years. The Southern Buckeye is by far our favorite. It was so nice not to have to pack beach chairs (there were 12), beach towels, bikes (6 of them),and a wagon. There are 2 full sized refrigerators and a mini-fridge by the pool. This was so helpful since we celebrated our daughter getting married. The place is spacious, all 20 of us gathered in the dining area and by the pool with seating for all. We can’t wait to go back next year! Always a Buckeye, we’re now southern buckeyes, as well!

Amazing house in a great location - one of our new favorites

The Southern Buckeye was simply amazing! Our family of three and our friends (also three) spent a week there and had a wonderful time! The location was excellent - short walk to the beach, views of the inlet, quiet road, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The house had everything we needed and more. The beach gear, pool gear, kitchen "stuff", and entertainment options, were above and beyond. Our 13 and 14 year old boys loved the "old" video game system, indoor shuffleboard table, and outdoor ping pong, and the grown ups loved watching soccer from the pool, the grill, and outdoor bar area! The hosts were incredible . We were greeted with a cute welcome note and goodies. They were awesome with communication and making sure we had what we needed. The person who takes care of the pool was super friendly and came after every storm (we had a couple) to make sure the tree debris from the covered lot next door was not in our way. We had the maintenance person there to fix a stool broken by the last guest and she was amazing as well. She gave great recommendations for local restaurants, as did the hosts. Check-in and check-out was simple. The house was new, clean and well cared for. I just can't say enough about what a great stay we had. Making Memories

Unfortunately, our east coast vacations always seems to sync up with a hurricane or tropical storm. This year was no different as we had to deal with hurricane Debby. However, our stay in Ocean Isle was nothing short of spectacular because of the Southern Buckeye! This house exceeded all our expectations and provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable vacation even though it rained most every day. We were captivated by the stunning views of the intercostal waterway and the short walk to the beach. The sunset views from the upstairs deck were awesome! The top floor’s family room and kitchen were perfect for our group (6 adults and 2 kids), offering plenty of space for cooking, eating, watching movies and just hanging out together. The middle floor’s game room was a hit with everyone, with arcade games, shuffleboard, and a wet bar. We spent many hours playing shuffleboard and making memories. The outdoor living space was equally impressive, with a pool, hot tub, tiki bar, and even a tv! We spent a lot of time just chilling around the pool, listening to music and watching the Olympics. Every pool toy or float you could ever need were included. Even a basketball hoop and a volleyball net for the pool. The location couldn’t be better. It is at the northern end of the island which is much more spread out and quieter than other areas. We can’t wait to return and create even more wonderful family memories!

Everything about this house was perfect and as described. It was very clean and well stocked with just about anything you'd need for a week (including beach and pool neccesities and toys). The owners communication was 10/10 leading up to and during the trip. We stayed here with 10 adults, 3 teenagers, and 4 younger kids and felt like there was ample space.

The house was well stocked with everything a family needs for a great week at the beach:beach towels, beach chairs, bikes, beach wagon, boogie boards, sand toys, pool toys and flotation devices, plus ping pong and corn hole. Our family loved the option of swimming in the pool or taking a short walk to the beach. The beach at this end of the island was not crowded and very wide during low tide.The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and there were multiple outdoor spaces for eating and lounging.The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. We also enjoyed the view of the intercoastal waterway and easy access to the nature walk with all of its scampering crabs.We'll be back again as there was more to do than we had time for.
