It would have been nice if you had read the description of the property and had been one of those who stayed, as you had said you would be. I live here, in the house in front, as is clear from the description. My concern was only that your very large employees might not be comfortable in the 18th century beds. I am glad they enjoyed their stay.

My little guest house has smoke alarms in the correct places as well as a carbon monoxide detector and an air conditioner upstairs, where it gets hot. There is no bamboo in my house. There are antique ladderback chairs. There is a main entrance and two other exits for emergencies, a back door, a front door and a cellar exit. Upon your arrival, your 26 yr old son urinated through his clothes all over the lawn, so naturally I asked if he was toilet trained. I was concerned for my property and rather taken aback. You had not told me that you had a nonverbal disabled grown child with you. You repeatedly parked so that the mail carrier did not have space to turn around, so I had to ask you several times to move your car, then you parked on the lawn, and just couldn’t seem to follow the instructions. You left the house a filthy mess, including underwear under a bed. I tried to be kind about you in my review because I know it is hard living with a disabled person, but you had not told me he was disabled, so of course I was rather shocked by the public urination. Your son then locked himself into the house and was pounding on the window and you couldn’t figure out how to open the door using the key in the lock box, so it’s a good thing I was present to help you rescue him. You did not appear to be supervising him adequately. I tried to be kind and polite to you and in my review of your stay. I live in the Big House in front, so I am usually present to answer questions and provide any assistance guests may need. I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. You had poor weather, unfortunately, and I gather you did not enjoy the fresh flowers in the bedrooms, the fruit bowl and packets of snacks I left for you or the sheets I painstakingly ironed for you. What are “Nanny Kim’s”?? Do you mean cameras? That would be illegal, as well as disrespectful and totally inappropriate. There is a sensor in the living room for a security/fire/burglar alarm system in the house and a ring camera outdoors so I can see when cars come into the driveway. Had you asked me about the sensor for the alarm system, or anything else, I would have been happy to explain. It is necessary to communicate when you are here, which you did not. I have to admit, I was very relieved when you and your family left and it took me and my cleaner a long time to get the house put back together. But, you did no permanent damage, apart from your inaccurate and insulting review.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. I designed the bathroom and am glad you liked it. I never let the guinea fowl out while guests might be resting. However, I think they are beautiful and am grateful to them for eating the ticks around the house and making sure no one gets a tick-borne disease. The hens also provide fresh eggs, if guests would like them.
