Lake Guntersville waterfront lake house Snug Harbor- Great fishing

Can be rented along with larger house next door https://www.vrbo.com/2422879. This cozy fishing cabin sits on a extremely private wooded lot. Great fishing is just a few steps away at the dock and one slip (with lift) private boathouse (the boathouse has power) with a beautiful view of the sunset over the lake. The pier next to the boathouse has been updated/replaced. Great water [15 feet deep] for swimming or fishing right off the dock. Play a game of horseshoes by the fire to wind down for the evening.
** The driveway is very steep - please launch your boat before arrival. The boat launch is conveniently located just across Highway 431-just a few minutes away from the boathouse.
The cabin is thirty minutes from downtown Huntsville and seven minutes to Guntersville downtown.

House nice hardwoods. All beds with quality mattresses and linens. Beautiful lake front views from all rooms with wide curtained windows. Main level includes living room with comfortable seating and flat screen TV, Fully equipped kitchen and separate breakfast or general dining area, master bedroom w/king bed and a full bathroom. Downstairs also offers beautiful lake views from all rooms, a second bathroom. 2nd bedroom has one double bed and two singles, great for sleeping kids. The 3rd bedroom is very private with a queen-sized bed, and its own window view of the lake; could function as a second master bedroom. Upper and lower porch and small screened in porch have a beautiful and slightly elevated view of the lake.

Early check-in/late check-out may be available if reservation schedule allows. Charge for early check-in or late check-out is $75 each.

Loved having the cover boat lift which worked great since I had just bought my boat. You have to put in across the lake and drive your boat and trailer to the house but not an issue.

We had a good weekend and enjoyed our stay. It was dog friendly which was very important and the place was great for our dog. The lakeview was perfect and since we brought our boat, we were able to use the boathouse.

View was great. Access to lake was good. Air conditioner didn't work properly and I had specified that there would be 2 trucks and boats and would we be good to park. Was told yes, but just before trip down was told to put boats in before going due to steepness of drive

Beautiful Spot!

We had lots of fun! Enjoyed the boat dock, swimming area, and camp fire. Great location on the lake with deep water all around. Very easy to launch your boat down the road and dock it over night in the boat house. We will be back!

HVAC was not working when we arrived so we did not end up staying here. The owner/manager provided a full refund. The pictures absolutely do not reflect the current condition of the property. It is run down & very much in need of much maintenance & repair.

No for the elderly!

Not for elderly or disabled! Not well stocked in the kitchen (bowls) fairly clean but no mops if needed! The house is much older needs newer living room suites! Was ok for my younger family to enjoy the lake but not for me and my husband who are older!

The property is very run down and held together with duct tape. The deck on the second floor has a couple large holes where the wood is rotted all the way through. The house was clean, so that was good, but there wasn’t a comfortable piece of furniture in the whole house; the sofa had several pieces of duct tape holding it together. The grass in the yard was over grown and unkept. It just wasn’t up to the same standard we expect when renting a property, and did not match the pics in the ad.

Property is in an amazing location on the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed the boathouse and dock, but there were a lot of areas of the house that needed attention. There were multiple small repairs that needed to be taken care of that compounded into an unpleasant experience. I am being kind in my review because I had a positive experience with the host. We were able to check in a little early and check out a little late and when I voiced concerns about the property the owner said they’d been out of town for a while and was not aware of the issues. The property has so much potential to be amazing but is clearly not being given the care and attention it needs right now.

Needs some work

On a positive note, the beds are very comfy and linens are nice. The main floor bedroom and one downstairs bedroom are very quiet. Not so positive-Furniture in living room is falling apart-held together with duct tape and stuffing coming out. Not enough seating in dining area for the 8 people it accommodates for sleeping. 2nd bedroom downstairs is open to a kitchen area so no privacy. The shower in the downstairs bathroom has a drain cover that does not screw in, so is loose when you step on it. There is no access to the backyard area from the deck-you have to go down to basement or out front door to get to that area. We were advised of a broken pane of glass that could not be repaired before our arrival, but there was still glass all around the window and some on deck that had not been swept up.

I purposely did not review this guest because it would not be a positive one. This person started looking for things to complain about from the minute she walked in until check out. Never again!

Property for sale…not clean…moldy….fishing cabin for men maybe appropriate

This was nothing like the pictures looked like. The driveway is so steep it’s scary to drive down, there was no toilet paper in house, lightbulbs missing, dirty fridge, duck taped cushions on couch, moldy… I immediately had a headache and it did not go away. I had to sleep next-door at my brother’s vrbo. My husband said there was a raccoon running in the roof all night and kept him up. I was in tears for what was supposed to be an amazing family reunion Thanksgiving. The whole point of renting the place was because it was next-door to my brother‘s VRBO so we could all be together. Yes the owner did offer another location he owned, but it was 10 minutes away which did us no good after we had already unpacked all our stuff.. I am still trying to get a refund, at least partial. My special needs son was so upset and didn’t understand why we couldn’t stay there. After 1 night my husband came over to my brothers to stay because it was so bad. So disappointed!!! Do not stay here unless you want a dilapidated, moldy cabin fit maybe for the wildlife!!!

Needs Maintenance & TLC!

When I booked this property I knew it was one of the cheaper properties on the lake and that it was an older property. I was ok with that. I did think there would be a shady backyard with a horseshoe pit, however, the trees had been removed (maybe due to storm damage) and there was no longer a horseshoe pit.The backyard was hot, rocky and full of tall weeds. There were giant holes where the trees used to be. The fire pit was shoved over in the corner of the yard and hard to enjoy. The living room was tiny and the furniture looked like thrift store furniture. The ugly silver couch was very comfortable though so points for that! The bed was also very comfortable and the linens were nice. We didn’t cook much but the pots and pans were incredibly old and in poor shape. Of the three frying pans, two were dirty. The downstairs bedrooms were spacious and set up nicely. Most of the outside spaces were covered in pollen and the cushions were worn. There was a newer patio table and chairs that we enjoyed on the deck and watched the sunset. The view of the lake is very nice. The driveway is very steep but we were able to get our boat trailer down it and turned around without too much trouble. My husband and I are in our mid 50’s so going up and down the hills and steps became a little tiring so this property might be better suited for a younger crowd. Overall we had a good time but this property could use a lot of maintenance and TLC.

I want to start by saying the host was a great communicator and all around a lovely guy! The property had some problems, these AC did not work and at one point it was 89 degrees inside the house. The host did try to get someone out but with the holiday weekend it was not possible. The heat was definitely a lot and my parents were unable to stay with us due to the heat and had to get a hotel room nearby for the weekend. It did rain a bit during our trip and unfortunately the roof leaked and did ruin most of our snack foods, the host did offer to go buy me snacks for my kids(again he was so pleasant!) but we were already packing up to go ourselves. The pictures from the listing are definitely not up to date, there was definitely some water damage on the upstairs ceiling and downstairs from a leak in the upstairs bathroom. There was also a lot of light bulbs out all over the property, inside and outside. Some of the chairs outside did have some mold on them. The highlight of the trip was definitely the boat house, my kids loved it and we spent most of our time out there fishing and paddle boarding. The boat house is very nice and so spacious. But if you have older people or small kids the outside can be a little dangerous so please be careful, especially since there were lights out everywhere outside. Overall there were some kinks, however for the price I paid I was a little disappointed that the AC didn’t work and we had the leaks. Just be aware of what you are getting.

The view was beautiful as advertised. But after that it went from bad to worse.1) No address on mailbox or house. I had to ask the neighbor which house. 2) Key box not in an obvious location and had to actively search for it.3) House was clean but smelled musty. Water stains on the ceiling in the first-floor bedroom.4) Written Wi-Fi instructions did not match the current Wi-Fi network name. Unless you are tech savvy, you will not log on.5) Had to wash all the kitchen utensils before use. The frying pan was oily. Food particles on several of the forks.6) Unit had a dishwasher, but no dishwasher soap.7) Refrigerator was marginally clean.8) Kitchen freezer had leftovers from previous occupants.9) Main room furniture was broken down and torn. Repaired poorly with duct tape. Second couch (sleeper) was broken down to the point when you sat on it, your knees were at shoulder level.10) Gas grill grate was rusted to the point of not being useable.11) Junk was strewn around the back yard including an old gas grill.12) No checkout instructions regarding the keys. We left them on the kitchen table and the owner called asking where they were. Apparently, he wanted them back in the key box.We booked a week but stayed one night. A complete and total disappointment.
