Beautiful 2 story beach front house with ground floor Patio and Sand Bar. Home is located on the exclusive North Captiva Island, where a short scenic Ferry trip is needed to bring you to the island. It is truly an unspoiled paradise where golf carts rule. House has an open living/dining/kitchen plan with 1/2 bath on top floor and covered lanai for best ocean and Sunset views. The wrap around balconies of the home allow for both sunrise and sunset views. First floor has 3 bedrooms, master king bed suite with full bath, and 2 other bedrooms each with a queen and twin bed and a shared full bath. Each has access to covered screened in deck for ocean viewing and back deck for sunrise viewing also with wrap around balconies. Bottom floor is a covered, sand in your toes full beach bar area, including long bar with swing chairs, decking and couches, outdoor kitchen and enclosed shower. Steps to and from the beach in comfort while entertaining.

A slice of paradise

You can’t ask for a better spot on the beach. The house met all of our expectations. Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked and the air conditioning was a welcome perk after being on the beach all day.Thank you John and Jennifer!

Real beach vacation

A very unique place right on the beach. Just wonderful peaceful place to reconnect. We had great weather, just a bit windy, but that’s to be expected on the beach. The outside eating area is so fun and commodious. Hope to come back!

Refreshing Stay in North Captiva

The house is on a beautiful quiet little beach. We had someone catch a tiny hammerhead looking shark and saw a proposal right in front of the beachfront we were staying on. Everyday we would go out and find the most amazing sea shells! Such a nice island that has the friendliest group of people staying there. We took a few boat rides and the dolphins swam with us for half of the ride. Everyone was very accommodating. Only tip would be to plan ahead and read the welcome pack that details the necessary arrangements. You'll have the best time!

Wonderful Location

Flip Flops is a fun house in a wonderful location. It's right on the beach with stunning views. Our family had a lot of fun.

Family time

The inside was clean and kitchen well equipped. The location of the home on the beach was awesome! We had a very rocky first 24 hours due to no water in the home and golf cart broke down halfway to the home from the dock but property manager was able to get someone to come fix the first thing the next morning. Outdoor furniture and cushions were dirty and strewn around apparently due to a storm that came through the day before we arrived. My advice for owners is replace outdoor furniture cushions and power wash furniture and repaint. Indoor couch pillows definitely need replacing due to wear and unsuitable for indoor use. The guest showerhead needs replacing as we were unable to use due to inability to adjust the water pressure. Advice to future guests is bring lots of insect repellents and don’t go outdoors at dusk or dawn! The noseeum mosquitoes are relentless. I received hundreds of bites the first night we were there no joking and the itching is excruciating and a week later I am still suffering.

The best sunset on the island

Absolutely stunning sunsets and plenty of beach directly in front of house. We have stayed on the island several times and this was by far the most enjoyable. The house is perfect with everything you need for a perfect vacation.

Amazing trip

We had a great time and we’re really pleased with how well Jenn and Yvena communicated with us. The house was amazing, such a great location and so much to do. I hope we can come back sooner than later.

Great location and super fun house

The house was in a great location, the beach access was the best. The house was prepared with all the activities for kids. The staff responded super fast and brought me some medicine from mainland drugstore the following day which made the stay in the island very confortable.

best place on the island!!

This is the second time I have stayed in this house. It has been bought and renovated and is even better than before! Great location..on the beach and beside the runway! It is my favorite spot on the island..The property managers were wonderful..so friendly and helpful.. I can't wait to go back!

This is the third time I have stayed in this house. It is a wonderful home and the best spot on the island!! It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach and beside the runway!! Always my first choice!! The inside is so nice and the outside seating is wonderful!! LOVE IT!!

Loved it!

Logistics of getting to North Captiva can be a little challenging but it really is a special place. We really enjoyed Flip Flops…layout of the house was perfect for our group, was clean, and had everything we needed. We all loved eating dinner while watching the sun set each night. Highly recommend Captiva generally and this property specifically!

Beautiful Beach House

We had a fabulous week at the Flip Flops Beach House! The location of the house being right on the beach was perfect We had beautiful sunsets every night and loved hearing the sound of the Gulf. All beach needs were full-filled with beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and beach games. The house had incredible views and had everything we needed. It was a great getaway!

Most peace and relaxing vacation ever

My family and I loved our vacation at Flip Flops. Everything was better than described! I’m so happy my family got to experience the laid back atmosphere and totally relax just steps from the beach. Shally’s was amazing with step by step instructions, getting our grocery order and delivering it, and helping us rent an additional golf cart. Everything you needed was already at the property to cook and clean, play, and relax next to the ocean. Loved all the wildlife as well!

Gorgeous and ready for visitors!

Best house on the beach! My young family and I stayed here for a week from 3/18 to 3/25. We learned upon arrival we were the first guests since Ian. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Everything has been redone and it is furnished for comfort and is beautiful—better than the pre-Ian photos online. There were many nice touches including an excess of beach towels and linens, and an old school video game table my kiddos loved. The views are *unbelievable*. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and one of the best and most relaxing vacations I have taken in my life. We were nervous about coming to the island post Ian. We did have to drive past some FEMA workers to get to the pool, and there are homes on the island still under construction, but once we were at the property all that fell away (couldn’t even hear it) and we just felt like we were in paradise. The property manager and owner were fantastic and really bent over backwards to make sure had everything we needed. Highly, highly recommend!

Beautiful beach…but

We knew when booking this property that it wasn’t a “luxury” property, but with the price, we feel like we deserved to stay in a clean property. The listing is correct when it says that you are 20 steps away from the water, but what they don’t tell you is that the side of the property that doesn’t have another property is where everyone from the island comes and parks their golf carts to set up chairs, tent, umbrellas all over the back of your property. The property management company was very responsive anytime we had a question. The restaurant’s on the island were terrible and extremely overpriced. The adult beverages tasted like water. Bring everything you can because the food mart is 3-4 times more expensive than a regular grocery store. Like other guests have said, the sulfur smell is enough to make you sick. Your clothes even smell strongly of sulfur after washing them. We will definitely not be returning to this property.

Oceanfront Paradise

This was our first trip to North Captiva and we definitely will be returning to this property next year. There are newer properties on the island and bigger properties on the island, but no property has these views and this proximity to the ocean. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations, this isn't the property for you. (In fact, the island is probably not for you.) This property is clean, comfortable, well appointed, with plenty of room for three couples or a family. We had a few minor issues that were quickly addressed by the owner and the property manager. A new filtration system was installed to address the issue with the odor in the water that others have mentioned. The system is still being worked out, so there were a couple times during our two weeks that the odor returned, but in the scheme of things it was not a major issue for us. We would highly recommend spending the $75 to join the club during your stay. We used the kayaks a few times to explore the island and hang with the dolphins. The outdoor space at the property is designed for fun and really incorporates the beach right into the property. Overall, we would highly recommend this property.

Beach paradise

The house is excellent. Perfect for a couple and four teenagers. We arrived a couple hours before check-in and thought that we would spend some time on the island away from the house, but the property managers were great about picking us up at the dock and getting us right to the home. We had pre-ordered groceries through the property managers, and they were at the home waiting for us to put away with plenty of dry ice when we arrived. Multiple times through the week we had to order additional groceries and the process is easy and smooth. The house had a lot of spices already stocked. My advice is order the basics first then get there and see everything that’s there before you decide what you need to order as far as spices or plastic wraps. Since there weren’t many restaurants and we were staying at the house most of the time we went through much more food than I had anticipated. Pack lighter on clothing than usual and order more food than you think you need. The only suggestion I would make is that a larger grill would be nice. It was challenging to cook for six people on the small grill provided. But the grill worked fine and cooked well. The countertop icemaker was able to provide plenty of ice for us for the week. There is not a lot to do on the island other than stay at the home and the beach, but it’s perfect for a relaxing week at the beach. The house had many beach chairs, toys, and beach games as well as cards and board games. Many beach towels provided.

GORGEOUS Beachfront Property and BEST Sunset View!

We just spent a week on North Captiva Island and Flip Flops was the perfect house and location. This was a first trip to the island for my family and I and it was amazing. I was traveling with my husband and our 5 and 7 year old daughters. The property managers were helpful in providing all the links we needed to get a car service, best ferry to use, and had someone meet us at the dock to help with luggage and provide our golf cart. We used Debbie to shop our groceries/beverages and Yvena had them stocked upon our arrival - amazing service and worth every penny not to worry about bringing your own! The house perfect - stocked with lots of towels, beach chairs, sand toys, and more. The wrap around decks were amazing. I loved waking up each morning to catch the sunrise on the east side of the third level deck. But the best was the amazing sunsets - we watched from the beach most nights, but was just as gorgeous from the decks of course. The bedroom level decks are screened in - perfect - my girls sat our there every morning for breakfast! We saw dolphins from the house daily - so fun - and loved taking walks to collect seashells. The Flip Flops Sandbar area was amazing. My girls' absolutely loved the swings and we ate many meals under there in the shade. Great that the kids could play there in the sand when they needed a break from the sun. We took some golf cart rides to explore the island (amazing seeing the progress they have already made after such devastation), checked out the island manatee's, and took a few dips in the club pool at Mangos. We can't say enough good things about Flip Flops and North Captiva Island. We certainty didn't want to leave and would love to come back someday!

Comfortable lovely home on the beach.

Great location with stunning sunsets. The house was as depicted, very comfortable and clean with great balconies for watching the sunset over the beach. Efficient air con, which was certainly needed! We had some top up grocery shopping delivered part way through, a great service. A couple of minor issues were dealt with very quickly, thank you. Overall a great stay.

Sunsets, relaxing, sea turtles, tarpon, best vacation ever!

My family and I stayed at Flip Flops for a week and my teens said that this was their favorite vacation! Flip flops is such a perfect place, right ON the breach! Sunsets from the porch, the beach, the patio, every single night. Best view ever! The bonus was that the Sea Turtle nest n the beach in front of the house had its babies emerge July 4th in the middle of the night and we were able to call the North Captiva Sea Turtle folks when we saw a baby sea turtle climbing out of the nest that next morning. We were able to watch two hatchlings go off into the ocean. The house is amazing and had everything you need, plenty of beach toys, noodles, cornhole, board games, so much entertainment! And we did the grocery order through the management company and all the food was put away for us when we arrived. 5 Stars for sure!!!

Awesome Stay!

This is our 12th trip to North Cap over the last 22 years and Flip Flips is among the best of the various homes we have rented! Great location, great beach and great condition. Very chill.

Great House, Great People, Great Location

Absolutely delighted with our week-long stay at the breathtaking beach house!
