Oversigt:
Bo på vandet tæt på Hilo uden at bo i centrum. Bo i et velanlagt hjem, som vedligeholdes for at undgå myg. Nyd næsten en halv acre på tværs af gaden fra Richardsons Beach Park. Et af de 7 stop for Hop-on Hop-off busture. Nyd den bedste snorkling af øst Big Island lige uden for døren. Tag kajakken ud og lær at stå op på paddle board. BEHOV MERE RUM?: Ring til os og spørg om det fornemme 3br / 2ba strandhus ved siden af (# 3948514ha). Vi har også et andet 3br3ba oceanfront hus 5 døre ned ad gaden (VRBO # 27643). Endelig har vi det nyeste hus kun 6 døre ned ad gaden (VRBO # 4035464. Fire soveværelser, 3 badeværelser, der sover op til 15. Jeg har 3 andre hjem lige syd for Hilo i Paradise Park, der er på vandet og meget overkommelige. Til aktuelle priser og tilgængelighed på alle vores strandhuse.

Beskrivelse:
• Hvorfor nøjes med et hus væk fra vandet? Dette hus ligger lige overfor gaden fra Richardsons Beach Park. Hjem med den bedste snorkling i East Big Island. Et af de 7 stop for Hop-on Hop-off ture. Hilo tilbyder få steder at nyde havet. Disse specielle steder er altid strandparker.
• Et af de nyeste Hilo ferieboliger i området bygget til meget høje standarder.
• Udenfor siddepladser på dækket med udsigt over Syd Hilo-bugten. Ekstra dæk uden for soveværelse.
• Huset inkluderer gratis brug af kajak, cykler, stand up paddle board, boogie boards, snorkel gear.
• Huset er fuldt udstyret. Alt hvad du har brug for til madlavning, masser af håndklæder, sæbe, shampoo, hårtørrer. Strygebræt / strygejern, legeplads, barnestol og kabelwifi.

Værelser:
• Stue - Stor sofa og kærlighedssæde med direkte havudsigt. Fladskærm T. V. med Amazon Fire og Netflix for et stort udvalg af visningsmuligheder. Bøger og spil til familie sjov. Kabel wifi.
• Køkken - Alt hvad du har brug for. Kaffemaskine, blender, brødrister, ris komfur, gryder / pander. Masser af madlavningsredskaber. Stor ovn / rækkevidde. Udsigt over Richardsons Beach Park fra køkkenvindue.
• Master Bedroom - Ovenpå for privatlivets fred med stort håndvaskområde og to-personers bruser. Master skab konverteres til senge nr. 7 og # 8, hvis nødvendigt (madrasser kan flyttes overalt). Loftsventilator. Privat dæk med siddepladser og udsigt over Richardsons Beach Park.
• Soveværelser # 2 og # 3: På samme niveau som stue og køkken. Hver har en queensize-seng, natbord, loftsventilator, kvalitetsmadrasser og sengetøj. Badeværelset er mellem de to soveværelser. Alle huse har spillepenner.

Der er mere at gøre i og omkring Hilo end nogen by på nogen af øerne. Det er bare ikke godt annonceret, fordi der ikke er resorts for at markedsføre området.

• Haver - Hawaiian Botanical Gardens, Lili’uokalani Park and Gardens, Nani Mau Gardens, Akatsuka Orchid Gardens.
• Museer - Lymans historiske og geologiske museum og Tsunami-museet. Begge i Hilo centrum.
• Strandparker - Richardsons Beach Park, Onekahakaha Beach Park (den roligste), Carlsmith Beach Park, Reed's Bay, Lehia Park. Punalu’u Beach Park og Whittington Park.
• Vulkaniske seværdigheder: Volcano National Park, Thurston lava tube, Kaumana Caves State Park, Pahoa transfer station, Live lava cykel / vandreture i Kalipana Udsigt område.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was great, and the host was easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!

A host. Very easy to communicate with quick and courteous responses. The house is very organized, clean and easy to find things. Instructions are thorough without being long. Furniture is very comfortable and welcoming to enjoy the priceless views in the home. This location and home is a must stay to enjoy the big island of Hawaii. Will definitely stay here in the future trips.

Amazing!

The house was beautiful and well stocked. The view from the living room and primary bedroom were amazing! Love the enormous shower! We’d definitely stay there again.

Great house, great location!

We loved sitting on the lanai with the amazing view and sounds of the waves. Walk across the street to snorkeling and sea turtles. This house has everything you need and is stocked with extra beach gear. Richard was quick to respond to any questions. Would stay again in a heart beat!

Location location location! This place was perfect. A beautiful ocean view and sea breeze. It's an easy walk to many cool swim/snorkel areas where we could cool off and watch the sea turtles lounging. Excellent communication with property management throughout our stay. He even gave us many options for things to do/see and places to eat. Most of my pics are just like the ones posted here. The view is spectacular!

Perfect stay

We traveled as a group for a tennis tournament. Our group involved children, teenagers & adults. The house accommodated everyone’s needs & space. We would definitely stay there again. Location was amazing with beautiful view of the ocean. Aloha

Beautiful house!

We loved the character and amenities of the house! Nice large space for 2 couples. Kitchen amenities were far better than other properties we stayed at. I would recommend updating the mattresses as we all ended up with some ack pains. I would strongly recommend this house!

Great location

Home was perfect for our family and being right across the street from Richardson black sand beach park was perfect. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate a few days, we could watch the body boarders across the street. Close to town for easy access to shopping and dining and we took trips to Kilauea and the various waterfalls. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had.

Beautiful Richardson Park

Wonderful location right across from the Richardson beach park, surrounded by jungle. Carlsmith beach park in easy walking distance. Roomy, comfortable house. Fans were all that were needed. Lots of fun beach gear provided. Absolutely the only criticism: sporadic hot water for showers.

Fun in Hilo

This location was perfect, allowing a centralized hub to visit the waterfalls, volcano, farmers market, and swimming with turtles. The house was perfect, stocked well with some spices and a few condiments. The kids loved learning to skim on boogie boards from local children across the street. The owner was quick to respond with questions and the house had a few maps and books to help plan our days. We would return for sure!

So close to great beach parks

Unbelievable access to the wonderful Hilo beach parks all within a mile or 2. We were up and across the street to Richardson Beach Park everyday to see the turtles and the black sand beach in the afternoon. Richard’s house was so comfortable and had everything we needed for the beach and in the house. Loved the tropical views from all the windows and it was so quiet at night (except for the birds and the rain, which were wonderful to hear). Definitely coming back if I am lucky enough to ever come back to Hawaii again!

A Dream Vacation

Four generations of women stayed at the Beaches House for a week. Communication with the owner, along with instructions and local recommendations were excellent. The house was very clean, and had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay! Large enough for us not to feel cramped, but plenty of options for gathering in the same location. We seemed to spend most of our time on the porch with the wonderful ocean view. The location of the house can’t be beat. Close to the best snorkeling, waterfalls, and the Farmer’s market. Volcano National Park is just a 40 minute drive. We wouldn’t change anything about our stay, and can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this house!!!

Great place to unwind

This location was a perfect balance of away from it all and close enough to stores, restaurants, shopping, beaches, wind and sky to help our family unwind. We loved the house, it's vibe, it's style, and most importantly the kind support and useful information from our host. It wasn't information overload, rules to the sky, or feeling like an outsider. It was understandable fun information that improved our visit to Hilo, rules that made sense and helped us balance ourselves in this amazing place, and a sense of belonging. We were at home while away. Thanks Richard.

Great Hilo home and responsive owner!

This house is a great location for travel all around the Big Island. Richard the owner was very responsive to our needs (he supplied additional beach towels and a cooler). We used the kayaks right across the street and enjoyed many fish and turtles. I gave a 4 because like most Hawaiian homes it is not air conditioned. Unfortunately, many screens need repaired so a lot of bugs came in the home in the evening through the screens. We would recommend new screens upstairs and several downstairs. The whole house fan is very helpful but July travelers should be aware it will be warm. Thank you for sharing your home!

Thanks for the review. We have since fixed the screens. They were taped temporarily to prevent bugs from coming through. Yes, it can get quite warm in July. There is usually a trade wind, but sometimes there isn't. That is why I have the whole house fan. They don't sell them on the Island. I brought that from the mainland and this house is probably the only house with one.

Great location but…

Pros: - Fantastic location! We loved being across from Richardson's Beach and could see sea turtles there! - Fully stocked home. Great to have snorkel gear. Cons: (Most of these may not bother others) - Screens are in need of repair or replacement. Since there are sizeable gap between the screens and frame, at least four geckos came into the home and several bugs. - Mattresses sag and should be replaced, particularly on the 2nd floor. Our old backs needed firmer support. - No A/C ... and it's pretty muggy in July. So while the house cools at night, it can be stifling to come back to rest in the afternoon.

Great location, well stocked and clean house

Our trip started off with a few bumps so I did not stay in this specific house but stayed in another house down the road (also owned by Richard). Although we did not stay in this property, we did get to walk through and it is very spacious, well stocked with everything you need and right across the street from the ocean. Also had some internet issues thus the 4 star review instead of 5. Richard is a good host. He is very responsive and willing to help troubleshoot and eager to make things right. The location of his properties cannot be beat. You fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves and nature and you wake up to the chirping of the birds and watch the beautiful ocean as you sip your morning coffee. we traveled with 3 toddlers and we all enjoyed swimming/ snorkeling in the small lagoon right across the street. Location is close to Hilo downtown and about 45 min to the volcanos. Would definitely come back again. Thank you Richard!

Thanks for the favorable review. I went to the house and checked the internet a couple of days later and it worked normally. I don't know why it didn't work for you. I have Oceanic Time Warner cable for all my homes which has always been very fast (30 mbs wifi). and reliable. Perhaps it was out the day you stayed?? A 4 star review is a fail relative to reviews in the VRBO/Homeaway system so I am disappointed when I get anything but 5 stars.

Beautiful view

Location was beautiful, it is right across the street from Richardsons Beach Park. We could just walk across the street to enjoy the ocean and tide pools. We also enjoyed going to Carl Smith Beach Park about a mile down the road. The property manager was very responsive, we were in need of a high chair and they delivered one on that day. They were also very helpful with a piece of luggage that was accidentally left at the home. They went out of their way to get is shipped back to us. It is a little noisy on the weekend. There were motorcycles that seemed to enjoy making as much noise as possible as they went down the street. The home is in some need of care. The railing on the steps looks to be rusted to the point that if someone leaned up against it, it would break off. The windows in living room and dining room are rusted to the point where they can not be closed.

Of course I strive for always getting a 5 star review. The stair rails are safe, although they do need to be replaced with stainless steel. The very small windows under the solid glass should always be left open, so the fact they don't close isn't an issue. There are weekends (when the weather is real nice) that the motorcycle groups tour about. Nobody in 11 years has bothered to include that in a review.

Great Location & Ocean Views!

This place was a great place to stay, views & access to beach were superb! Had access to washer & dryer which was really nice when staying at 1 location for 10 days. Mainly cooked at home, kitchen was set up really good, the gas stove was nice! Would defiantly stay here again.

Great place for a family reunion.

Our family was born and raised in Hilo, but needed a larger 'base camp' with in-laws, grandchildren, etc. We loved the indoor and outdoor spaces, & easy access to the beach.

Great location.

This property is everything described in the listing except it is definitely NOT a luxury property. So before Richard berates and disagrees with me, I’ll just state the obvious—this review is a fair description of my experience and isn’t meant to agree or disagree with anyone else. The house structure is not well maintained, particularly the windows—although some are in working condition, others have broken or missing screens and in the first floor bathroom there is a screen but no window. This may account for the bugs and small lizards in the house. The house is hot, even with the use of the very loud, very strong whole house fan. You have to sleep with the windows open and the ceiling and room fans on to get any ventilation—the house usually cools down by 2am. Between the fans and tree frogs it could be difficult to fall asleep if noise bothers you. The pictures in the listing don’t reflect the current state of the property, it seems they are from the renovation done 10 years ago. The bed configuration is definitely different, the description is accurate, not the pictures. On the first floor there is a king size mattress on a queen headboard and in a separate room 2 twin beds. On the second floor there is a king size bed in the room and twin beds in the closet so you have to walk through one room to get to the other. A great arrangement when traveling with young children. The house needs a deep clean. I had a lot of trouble getting email prior to our stay and Richard was exceptionally responsive in getting me the door code and other information I needed. He has also prepared a notebook about the area. It is in the dining room and definitely worth looking at. Lots of suggestions for activities. The Wi-Fi is the best I’ve had in a rental—strong and consistent signal. Many folks did not sign out of their streaming service so there are plenty to chose from including Netflix and Disney plus if you don’t mind using someone else’s subscription. Towels are plentiful, kitchen items and pantry are more than sufficient to get you started. The shower water is heated using solar energy; even though it was mostly cloudy during our 4 day stay there was no problem with having sufficient hot water for 4 adults. Plenty of parking and space to turn around so you aren’t backing out onto a busy road. There are lots of beachy-things and a grill available to use, although we did not have time to use them.

Perfect!!

This beach house was perfect! Views of the ocean right across the street. Large windows all around the house for natural lighting. Everything you could want and more in a rental property. Fully stocked everything! From the kitchen with all cooking accessories and supplies at your disposal, bathroom necessities, and washer and dryer needs. Kids loved the nature books and board games. Having all the streaming services available was great! Especially Disney+! Having the washer and dryer in house was really convenient. Multiple beaches within a 5 minute drive. There were kayaks, stand up paddles boards, inflatables, boogie boards, and a whole storage area in the garage full of other outdoor goodies. The drive to Hilo was short and easy as were all the sights in the area. Overall, I would definitely stay at this property again. I would also love to check out the 4 other properties the owner has in Hilo. They look amazing as well!

Beautiful location

House was spacious, kitchen was well stocked to prepare family meals, and location is fabulous. Appreciate the available snorkeling gear!

Beautiful View

We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend, beautiful location right across the street from the Ocean. The house was stocked with things I never thought we needed. Even fresh cream in the refrigerator. We are looking forward to staying again

Owning these premier homes at Hilo's best location was a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I have made improvement such as new premium beds, new premium washer/dryer and opened up the views to the ocean. This place rivals any place on earth, as you will find out.

If you plan on staying more than a couple days, you will want to enjoy the location. If you love the water and especially snorkeling, you will not find a better location. The best snorkling is in just a few feet of water right in front of the black sand beach. It is like swimming in a tropical fish store. Green sea turtles come to rest for the night in the evening at the rocks just beyond the black sand beach. The water is largely sheltered by the rocks creating a partial lagoon. Yet this house is just down the street from Downtown Hilo. Great for quick trips out to eat, shopping and many tourist locations. Review the "Location" tab for a list of over 20 great places to see.
