Industrial-Inspired 2-Story California Beach House

There's always more to the story... Molly checked in on Sunday, 7/19, and was notified that the prior guest alerted us to an issue with the A/C unit, which is a top of the line unit that is < 2 years old. We had previously had a service call and explained that a follow up visit would be required to attempt to fully resolve the issue. Molly was very understanding and cooperative. On 7/20, the A/C tech arrived at the home, accompanied by me, and attempted to fix the issue. We messaged Molly that evening and didn't receive a response. On 7/23, we contacted Molly because the second half of her payment never processed. She was unresponsive and we had to ask VRBO to intervene. Once they did, Molly explained that she had cancelled the card on file and entered another form of payment. Later that day, Molly initiated a complaint about the upstairs A/C unit. We attempted to schedule service, but the arrival time window was between 6-9 PM, which we felt was inappropriate. With night time temps in the low 70s, and a working downstairs A/C unit, with 2 King beds (for 2 guests) in the bedroom, we agreed to a service call the following day. On Friday, 7/24, two days before she was scheduled to check out, Molly complained about ants in the bathroom. In fairness, this is a common occurrence in Coastal CA during the hot summer months. An exterminator had been at the property, two days prior, and brought over ant traps within an hour. In our opinion, Molly was attempting to avoid paying the second half of her rent and, once discovered, escalated from calm and cordial to aggressive and accusatory.
