The "Crawling Distance" Beach House is just a short walk (or, Crawling Distance) from the world-famous Flora-Bama. Nestled between Florida's western shores and Alabama's eastern coastline, Perdido Key beckons with its pristine white-sand dunes and tranquil Gulf waters to the south. This barrier island seamlessly blends coastal living with southern charm, offering visitors vibrant dining options, marinas, shopping experiences, and more, ensuring a memorable island getaway for all who visit. Area activities include: charter fishing boats, boat & jet ski rentals, Parasailing, dolphin cruises, sunset sailboat cruises, beautiful back bays for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing, amusement parks, great restaurants with entertainment for all ages, golf, outlet malls, shopping, live concerts at The Wharf Amphitheater, and of course, plenty of powder-white sand.

Policies:
1. Check-in is 4pm | Check-out is 10am.
2. No Smoking in home or on balcony.
3. Pets are NOT allowed.
4. Loud parties or gatherings will not be tolerated.
5. Must be at least 25 years old to rent. For groups of Single Adults, all guests in the group must be at least 25 years of age and proof of age will be required before approving the reservation.

Beautiful house, enough room for everyone, closest beach access is through Flora-bama, you need to drive to any other public beach access. The street itself is quiet and gated. Only places within walking distance is Flora-bama, Old River Grill and the Yacht Club. Love the up and downstairs outside areas.

Location

The location is as advertised - across the street from the Florabama. However, we did not realize that you must drive a mile down the road to public beach #4 for beach access. Thankfully, we were there during the off-season, and we found parking at the beach access easily each day. This could be a hassle if you stay during the high season.Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the proximity to the Florabama and Waffle House.

Great location

Location is fantastic! You can walk to the florabama, beach and yacht club. House is nice but had a few issues. One, house advertise it sleeps 10 people but you only get two parking spots. Other issue is the curtains kept out no sunlight so sleeping in was impossible, and we had temperature control issues across the house. Really recommend they get new dark curtains and need to slow access to the garage parking or provide another parking spot.

No Privacy inside house

The house and location were overall great, however, not one door inside the house has a lock on it, including all bathrooms. We had two families sharing the house and only one of the bathrooms is not shared. This made for several uncomfortable moments for several people staying in the house. Also there is some difficulty getting to the beach if you have a cooler.

The house was clean and somewhat well appointed. The bedrooms were comfortable but not as nice as some others we have stayed in. The bedrooms were very large, but the actual common space was TINY. For a house that sleeps 10, it's odd that there was only seating for 5 in the living room. It made for awkward evenings. The kitchen was a good size with nice appliances, but very sparse cooking utensils. Also, the freezer drawer was broken. The outdoor spaces were pretty pitiful. The screened porch off the main level again had seating for 4 people and overlooked the next door neighbors driveway, and the floorboards were SO STICKY!!! Just gross. Also, we were told that the front door lock was tricky, but it literally would not lock, no matter what we tried. That is completely unacceptable. They even sent someone out to work on it, but it was never fixed. The downstairs outdoor space was again had minimal seating and absolutely no view of anything but driveway and fence. We stay at lots of VRBO properties, but would never stay here again. The pictures were beautiful, but the reality was not so great.

Great place!

Neighborhood was great for children. Other children met our group outside and played together in the culdesac each evening which really made my heart happy. We enjoyed that it was walking distance to FloraBama and its restaurants. Would be nice to be able to access the beach without having to go through the bar so you could bring a cooler. The house was a great size and full of space for the kids to play separately from the adults. My two big cons would be that you definitely can not fit four cars in the driveway and that there are no locks on the doors. Would definitely be willing to stay again!
