Great Location

Very good location between downtown and the UNCW campus. And the best bagels in Wilmington is just steps away.

Short but enjoyable stay

My wife and I stayed overnight as we celebrated our anniversary In Wilmington before heading to the beach the following day. The unit was clean, comfortable and in a perfect location with everything we needed.

One night stay

We stayed one night after the hurricane. Only there a few hours but great help from Brian with anything we needed. I did have to figure out the dryer washer combo but was easy if you read the cycle process lol. Great short stay!

Wilmington NC/ Short Stay

Short Stay over in Wilmington NC with me and my two teens after spending the previous week at the beautiful Outterbanks No issues, Great 2 bed apartment for the price Pool was clean and quiet - however not many chair options, luckly i had my own beach chair with me friendly quiet neighbors Clever idea with the little floor vacuum robot Highly recomend to visit the Wilmington downtown boardwalk but bring suitable shoes for a long journey if you want to see everthing downtown has to offer Cheers

Nice but bare

Thr property was nice for the most part. The area was quiet. There were only two real issues. The first was while the apartment was fairly clean, the shower curtains were mildewed on the the bottom. The other issue was lack of furnishings rhere were no nightstands or side tables and the second bedroom had no storage at all. For the price point, i think the property was very good.

Dirty

Smells like mj, shower full of mold , floors unswept, fridge and kitchen not wiped down. Pool was green.. washer/dryer combo useless, oh and loud stomping neighbor through the night..do not recommend.

To be clear, there is no mold in the shower; you may have been seeing typical wear and tear marks on the shower due to age. The showers were completely clean. We utilize an energy-efficient washer-dryer ventless combo.

Not as advertised

Check-in was not a problem. The listed photos were not accurate at all. There was standing water in the kitchen sink, there were multiple areas in the apartment that were being renovated that the host informed us about after checkin. There were no visible towels for showering so we purchased towels for the host to then tell us after checkout that towels were in the dryer. Both bathrooms were unclean including the shower in which we showered with sandals on. Proximity to the beach and food was fine. Overall was not a great experience.

Little problems kept adding up

The host was nice and the location was fine for the price. However, we walked in and immediately had to kill a roach in the living room and would have to kill a few more over the weekend. There was mold all over the shower curtains which triggered my friend’s allergies. Even though the host left vague instructions, we couldn’t figure out the washer/dryer combo and had to run it three times to get dry towels. I found the bed very uncomfortable and ended up sleeping on the very comfy couch. Fortunately, no one else in my group had a problem with the beds. The stay was just a bunch of little problems that added up. Luckily, we were just there for the weekend or I think we would have been more upset.

Some suggestions

Good morning Brian, We rented your unit from 8/15-8/18 I did appreciate your quick response to txts @ calls regarding the gnat/fruit fly infestation. The device you gave us did not help at all. They were flying in our faces, food, drinks & drinking straws. I feel for the cost incurred it was also very poorly equipped. The reason we rented a VRBO is because we didn’t want to & couldn’t afford to eat out everyday, for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The unit sleeps 4. I had my daughter & her roommate there for dinner twice, but there were only 2 dinner dishes, 2 knives, no bowls big enough to make a salad we had to use a frying pan to mix a salad, no colander to drain pasta, 1 coffee mug, No chairs to sit out on the patio, to escape the gnats/fruit flies inside. Only 2 chairs at the dinner table, had to move chairs from bedrooms to accommodate 4 for dinner. Roku TV was a nightmare, constantly buffering then blurred after each time it buffered.

Nothing Like Pictures

Prior to my arrival I was told this property had recently been remodeled. Upon arriving, it appeared that it was still in a remodeling process. There were no doors on any of the closest or bathroom cabinets. The floors were filthy and there were even puddles of dirty water. The bedspreads (that were not even dry) were no more than a throw blanket. There was one towel left in each bedroom, which was thin and ragged. There was wasp and hornet spray sitting out on the floor in the den. The back door was unlocked. The bathroom in particular was not at all like the pictures. Whoever completed this “remodel” did a horrible job painting and there was still painters tape on things. I tried calling the property owner several times and finally had to go through VRBO to reach him. He was completely unapologetic and rude. He insisted that the property was fine and not misrepresented. If I could put the pictures I took, I would upload to this review. I ended up getting a hotel room because I was so uncomfortable being there.

Not Luxury

The place was clean and bright. However, there were a lot of little things that should be improved if more guests are desired. We arrived quite late and the place was clean and inviting. However, dishes were left in the dishwasher so we were unsure if they were clean or dirty. There was also no dishwasher soap, sponges, or dishcoths to be found for us to do dishes ourselves. There wasn't a complete set of dishes (ex. such as 1 coffe mug) and there weren't any mixing bowls if you wanted to do any cooking. Also, when we arrived, there was only 1 towel in the main bedroom and 1 towel in the other despite the photos. When I asked, Brian responded quickly saying, "The linens are in the dryer." I was confused why I had to take them out of the dryer though when I've never had to do that in any other VRBO places. Although we found towls and sheets, there was only 1 dish towel, 1 hand towel, and no wash cloths. In the master bathroom, the vanity had nearly broken doors. I also asked Brian about extra pillows and didn't hear back for almost 24 hours when he said there may be more in other units. At that time, our son was already asleep and we didn't want to bother other units asking for a pillow. The WiFi had issues on our 2nd night and the back slider had a broken lock. The only way the door was "locked" was using a pole at the base. We didn't feel unsafe but definitely not what I'd expect from a "remodeled" ground floor unit. Not terrible but definitley not luxury.
