Fantastic property and experience. The house is clean, spacious and extremely well located. The host was very responsive. We felt at home right away and ended up extending. We would return in a heartbeat.

A quiet peaceful place to unwind

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a treat to experience - the place was spotlessly clean and provided ample living space for the three of us and can easily accommodate more. It is in a lovely quiet spot with easy access to beaches and restaurants (by car rather than walking). As at October 2026, it seems as if work is ongoing to expand capacity at the address, but as all this is going on in the basement of the property, it does not in any detract from the guest living areas. Overall, I would highly recommend the property and would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful one week stay! Lovely house with very nice appliances and amenities. It was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed eating out on the back deck and the spacious yard had a nice firepit for the evenings. Loved having bikes to use to check out Camp Ellis. Very short drive or bike to the beach. Beach chairs provided. The host was very receptive and quick to respond with any issues. Would highly recommend this house.

This house was perfect for our long holiday weekend in Maine, it was in a beautiful quiet area close enough to everything we wanted to see while also feeling very relaxing. We usually cook breakfast when we travel, and this house was clean and updated, well stocked with appliances, cooking utensils and pots/pans, and plenty of dishes. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean, with plenty of space for our crew. The gas fireplace in the living room was perfect for the colder nights and we enjoyed using it. One correction needs to be made in the listing, the second bedroom says it has 2 double beds, but it only has one… we were prepared for this because we read the reviews, but it would be good to update the listing so that others know what to expect.Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely book here again. Highly recommended!

The house was clean and comfortable in a nice residential area. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. The washing machine and dryer were top quality. The only odd thing was the locked closet in the master bedroom. We had to hang our clothes in the small bedroom. Since there were only 2 of us that was not a problem.

The house was very clean and spacious. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house or cook any meals there. We wished there had been more toilet paper as we hadn't planned on going to a grocery store but that's not the worst thing. All in all, we were very happy with the place - it was in a great location. We would recommend this property to friends traveling to the area.

Hi Laura - thanks for the nice review. It sounds like this was a great home base for all your exploring -not a bad thing not to cook on vacation! We give two full rolls of toilet paper per bathroom as part of our starter kit -- along with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. It's not meant to last if you are staying for a long trip, but it's enough to get you situated for several days.

The property was very nice. Backyard was lovely. Great communication with the host. There’s inaccurate description of the bed in the second bedroom and there was no pullout couch. It was a rollaway cot. However, we enjoyed this property very much. I did communicate with the owner that the front stairs needed to be fixed.

Thank you, Deirdre. Yes I made a note of the front porch and it’s on the list! We just need to get the contractor to have a couple of days to give me. Such a small job they need to fit it in and around others. You are right about the bed! I wish the listing websites offered a chance to check off rollaway bed. I do have it in the listing, but it does not give me that option to check off. I’ll try to make more of a point of it in the listing so people know. From all of what I’ve heard, it’s a very comfortable bed. In anyway, we loved having you and glad you enjoyed yourselves! You were great guests!

I asked for the outside light to be on as we were arriving at night. That wasn’t on as it needed new light bulbs. The dining room light fell down. They sent a contractor the next day. The combination door entry broke down but I contacted the out of hours staff and they gave me the key safe combination to the back door. The person on duty was polite and patient as we walked to the back of the house. The basement is being upgraded but the door to the basement was not fitted, a little spooky ! The property is spacious and clean, nice area. It would really make life easier if they had the house number on the letter box ! The house next door is 22 and we are 28. Can be confusing particularly if there isn’t a light on.

Make sure you get what's listed in the Ad. We booked this place because the Original listing said it had 2999 sq feet..... we NEEDED the space for our 2 families. When we arrived, the house was 1500 sq ft at best with an unfinished basement. We would have NEVER paid 450 a night for a 1 level ranch with not enough space.... it caused tension being in such tight quarters. Kinda put a bummer on our trip :((

Great get away

Beautiful property with all the comforts of home. Near tons to great dining options and just a quick drive to all Portland offers.

Very nice home

The home was very clean and close to the beach. The only issue was the full/queen size bed was very uncomfortable, so bad that my brother had to sleep on the couch. A comfortable mattress should be purchased. That is the only issue.

The house is lovely and we enjoyed the view of Molasses Pond. The kitchen is well stocked and towels were clean and plentiful. As seniors and unfamiliar with Maine, the location is a bit remote although that seems to be common in Maine. We loved the house but the adorable second bedroom is obviously more suitable for children than a couple. One of us slept on the sofa which, fortunately, was comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.Susan responded immediately to our questions and we appreciated that. Thank you!

Saco Sanctuary - July 2025

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental home was beautiful and very clean. We were very comfortable during our stay. Great that it is located on quiet street and close to beaches. We loved the table set on the deck and enjoyed the fire pit nightly.We were looking forward to sitting on the balcony off the master bedroom, but the sliding glass door was not working and no furniture so we assumed it was in need of repairs. It also would have been nice to have a small A/C unit in the small bedroom as the ceiling fan was not able to keep it cool in the room. That said, the kids really did not care :)Overall this was a great place to spend a week in Maine in July - thank you!!
