Heart Pine Cabin: Quaint and intimate cabin with a gorgeous view

Your cozy getaway awaits at the newly-constructed and welcoming Heart Pine Cabin at the Benedict Haid Farm. With a bedroom and a loft, featuring 2 queen beds, it's the perfect retreat for a small group of guests seeking a wonderful time away.

This 1860s hand-hewn log cabin was relocated from its original location 15 miles away and was painstakingly restored and fitted with all new modern conveniences while retaining its incredible character.

It was featured on the “Barnwood Builders” television show and has some of the widest log faces of any Appalachian log cabin, some being 20-22”. It has a spacious master bed room and a second queen bed on the open loft that looks down on the living area—great for kids or for a second couple.

The view was awesome! On the last night we saw about 15 deer come into the grassy area below the cabin. The cabin has great ac for the summer. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. The grill was very nice to cook on. Loved sitting on the front porch and relaxing. Very clean and comfortable. If we were in the area we would stay here again. Thank you for allowing us to stay.On a side note, we normally ride motorcycles, the driveway is gravel and might be difficult for some riders.

Pine Heart Cabin Stay

The cabin is very welcoming and cozy. The entire farm property itself is refreshing.If you are looking for a cabin off the beaten path with abundant wildlife, I highly suggest this cabin.

This place is beautiful. We could have spent every day drinking coffee on the porch watching the earth go by. This was an amazing place to go and get away from everything. We had the best trip we could have hoped for, and a lot of that had to do with this cabin. It is in such a peaceful location, but its close enough to Charleston and some other local towns that there is plenty to do close by.

This was my first stay in WV and I definitely understand the song now, after my stay in this cabin! The pictures, while accurate, don't do the property justice. It's definitely a hidden gem that I plan on returning to with my family.

An experience of a lifetime.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at this sweet cabin. I could have stayed a week. It was one of the most relaxing places i have ever been to and we live in the mountains ourselves. The deer made a couple of appearances and sitting on the front porch was a highlight. Not what we would call easy to get to on the motorcycle but oh so worth it! Thank you so very much for sharing this amazing spot. We will never forget our stay.

Everything about the Heart Pine cabin was amazing and you should book it if you can! The peace and tranquility of its location, combined with ability to sit in an Adirondack rocker under a water tight porch while it rained is going to sustain me back in the big city for some time to come. We discovered new birds and were kept company each night by three lovely deer roaming the property. There was hiking to be found in the area and we were able to get in 5 miles to the lake and back each day of our stay. We saw not one other person until we went into Charleston. The interior of the cabin itself was a true delight. There was every modern convenience contained in a true cabin environment. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to make a meal… just bring your food! The coffee maker allowed you to choose between drip or pod. The fridge was spacey, and there was even a garbage disposal! The shower pressure was amazing and we never ran out of hot water. The fireplace added to the charm, and there was plenty of firewood. It also started super easy! There was even a gas grill. This place was clean! I mean, clean clean! Overall, we knew we had stumbled onto something special. The owner and caretakers obviously understand this as well based on the love and care they put into the place.Be aware that the roads coming out of Charleston that take you to the Heart Pine cabin are not for the faint of heart. Don’t take them for the first time at night!

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We had a few issues that will be shared with the host. The cabin isn't really close to anything, which is good and bad at the same time. Just know that the roads to get to the cabin are very windy and narrow. It was very peaceful and quiet. We couldn't sit on the porch much because of the 90 weather. The host was great to work with.

Historically interesting cabin on a gorgeous serene property. Crafted with great care to highlight the restoration of a log cabin while offering the class and dignity of a clean, modern interior. The space was thoughtfully and fully designed for comfort. It is remote, but the views from the front porch are spectacular!
