KM would have been happy to address the AC and hot tub and arrange for their repair. The high salinity and sun are tough on electronics, appliances, power tools and electrical. Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa Cielo. Our home does have four bedrooms and after looking at our VRBO listing, the rates as written do seem a bit confusing. Our intent is that rates go up based on the number of bedrooms to be used. We certainly do not want to charge guests for renting the entire house unless all four bedrooms are needed. We will try to make this more clear on our listing. That said, we had an unexpected plumbing problem in one of the bedrooms last week which meant it couldn’t be used. Otherwise we would have happily rented your party the fourth bedroom. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will stay with us again in the future. Thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments and are disappointed that your stay at Casa Cielo was not to your liking. We strive to provide top notch accommodations, but sometimes things happen that we are not aware of or able to control. Comments from guests (our own friends and family included) help us to remedy things we missed. We arrived at the house just after your stay. Before seeing your comments, we had already replaced the broken umbrella (a new one was stored downstairs as they wear out quickly), we had a seamstress out to repair/recover cushions, and we repaired the broken swivel chair. It is unfortunate that you did not notify the property manager about things that were missing, broken or unsatisfactory, while you were still here, so that we could have immediately tried to remedy the situation or offer you and your guests some other accommodation. I’m sure you recognize that the elements are harsh in this environment, and sun and moisture quickly take a toll on furniture and furnishings, inside and out. Although we have an excellent, conscientious staff, as owners we like to be here ourselves every few months so we can keep eyes on the state of things. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to be here since December and so blame ourselves for not keeping on top of everything. Regarding the lack of an ice maker: there are frequent power outages on the island, causing ice in an ice maker to melt and flood the kitchen, which is not practical. The washer/dryer are not available for guest use because it is critical that the ones we have are in good working order so we can clean all the dirty linens and turn the house around quickly for the next guests; we cannot risk having a unit out for repair or replacement due to guest misuse, which has happened in the past. Also, we do not have a jacuzzi-style hot tub with jets and bubbles, nor was it advertised as such. It is simply a warm spa tub. Many of your other comments were either inaccurate or overstated. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay, but wish you had given us the opportunity to address your concerns while you were here, rather than in a negative review after the fact.
