Unfortunately, a downside of having your home listed on this site or other sites is the ability of guests to blatantly lie about your home. I was never told by her that the A/C repairman was IN the home when she arrived, would explain her complaint about pine straw on the hall rug possibly that he drug in. The A/C was repaired, no need for heat in this weather. All you have to do is google the temperature that evening and see it didn't get below 64. However, unit does work. There is a closet full of extra pillows and even sent her a picture of that. Could the trashcan in the bathroom have had items in it when she arrived? I highly doubt it, but possibly. There was no ring around the tub. Bugs in the kitchen? Yuk. Unacceptable. She is correct that I offered for the cleaner to come out and an exterminator and she denied both. Exterminators don't use poison for humans for goodness sakes, also they would have come when guests were out of the home. I am always leery of a guest who exaggerates claims and immediately starts demanding a full refund instead of corrective measures. We have deep cleaned the home again and exterminated after guest left. She did fail to mention she left the back door open, an open bag full of trash on the porch and 5 blood stained towels that we threw out. I did reluctantly refund 1/2 of her cleaning fee. Her name is flagged to never rent again and equally I have left her a "glorious" review. Reviews work both ways my friends.
