Amazing!!!

Could not have had a better experience! The staff, location, pools, and beach at the resort were amazing! Traveling with a bunch of kids, this was the perfect location, amenities, and convenience! Thank you to the staff who made our stay great. Snorkeling at the resort was just as great as several beaches we visited. Would recommend to anyone looking to visit beautiful Maui!

Great place!

We had a great stay at this unit. The unit itself is nice but needs a deep cleaning (stains on couch cushions etc). The Honua has great pools, albeit a bit small for the resort size, and a nice snorkeling beach right off the resort. The resort is lacking for restaurants and the adjacent resorts have minimal themselves but if you plan on doing most of your own cooking that wont be an issue. With all in mind, we would stay in the area again and quite possibly at the resort as well.

Great view and spacious, modern condo

We all had such a great time, nice resort with plenty of pool and hot tub options for the whole family. They even delivered coffee filters for us and provided complimentary coffee for our stay. The AC was strong and dual zones, view was breathtaking, we had all our meals on the balcony. Stocked with essentials like laundry pods etc. There were no other kitchen condiments unfortunately -- when I asked they mentioned COVID but we are so past that. We made it work, definitely go to the local grocery for better prices than Safeway

The Perfect Place

Rented this property for two weeks. Cannot imagine there is a better location in which to stay. We were in Hi for a wedding followed by a vacay. Many wedding guests stayed in hotels and were jealous of the quality of this property and the condo . The locals were always quick to note that "we had chosen wisely" by staying at Honua Kai. The condo itself was spacious, tastefully appointed, well-taken care of, had a great view of the Pacific, and became "home" very quickly. The kitchen met our every need. The washer/dryer were a definite plus. Most importantly, the beds were comfortable and we slept wonderfully. The location was ideal. Shops, services, and a grocery store are nearby (actually within walking distance). Lahaina and Front Street are a quick commute away. KBM manages the unit and they were helpful and courteous when we called and patient with our every question. We feel fortunate to have found this location. Would we stay here again? Unequivocally YES!

Pluses and minuses

KBM is amazing at day to day ops. Check in/out at the property was clear and easy and when we asked for extra pillows and towels they came quickly. However both beds were dirty and had to be washed before we could sleep after arriving at 8:30 pm. The couch was so stained and had so much food under the cushions we slip covered it with a sheet and rarely used it. All the upholstered chairs in the unit were in the similar conditions. The location and spaces in the rental were absolutely as advertised. It was a beautiful property and on site staff was friendly. Pools were nice and it is a lovely beach. My other complaint is that when the water went out ( yep- literally no water!) twice in 2 days there was absolutely no response from KBM or the property in order to keep us informed or help us trouble shoot. The best advice I got was to go pay for a spa in a neighboring property ( which also had no water). I was incredibly disappointed with everyone we spoke with. Luckily it only lasted a few hours but it was inconvenient and costly. Overall we had a good stay but upkeep in the rental was definitely lacking.

Fantastic location and beautiful ocean view

The condo is very clean and has great open and good flow layout on 7th floor. During our stay there were handful of hiccups but the condo management team fixed the problems. The fan attached to the microwave blows the cooking smell back into the condo. I am a home cook and doesn’t like my cooking smell lingering. If I opened the lanai doors to get rid of the cooking smell, the AC would auto shut off because for the heat blowing in from the outside. I had live with the smell for days and it really bothered me. My young children loved the pool and my teenager utilized the gym quite often. This area is a windy side and so the beach is not suitable for younger children. The beach drops too quick so you would need a floater if want to stay in the water. We ended up went to different beaches near by instead. Thank you so much for making our stay comfortable.

KBM Hawaii was amazing to work with. I had a lot of questions before committing and booking our stay with them, but they always answered my questions within a day or so, and offered some advice when asked. We booked our car rental through them as well - we didn't qualify for the complimentary rental, but we were still offered a discounted rate which was amazing. when we arrived at the property, we were greeted at the front, taken to our room, given the tour and provided with all the information that we needed for our stay. The suite was amazing - so clean, and there were plenty of amenities provided to make our stay comfortable. It felt like a luxury resort/hotel in one way, but also felt like home in another which was a perfect blend of what we wanted. Thank you for a great stay, and I would definitely recommend this place, and room 746 to anyone! Great location, great views of the mountains, pools and the ocean, plus an extra large lanai on a higher floor. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Maui :)

Very safe friendly atmosphere. The grounds were well lit for walking after dark. Dukes restaurant staff was excellent and food was quite good. Pool areas were always clean. I would highly recommend this area for any age group. Had a wonderful time.

Excellent stay!

This is our third stay at the Honua Kai...first with KBM/vrbo...we were very pleased with the property and the attention and communication KBM provided us! As well, the hosts were very attentive to supplying all the kitchen needs (we cooked in most of the time) and beach chairs/umbrellas/ice chest and boogie boards! The beds were super comfortable and I'm already missing the lightweight comforters and pillows! We had a couple of questions/needs while there and KBM was totally accessible and prompt! very impressed! If you do plan to cook in, either bring spices you like or buy upon arrival as there's only salt on property. The view of the pools was lovely, and we saw so many whales from the lanai....what a treat! Can't wait to come back!

Great Apartment

We loved staying here. Resort property is beautiful and apartment is gorgeous. We had a beautiful view of the ocean, pools and mountain. Beach is wonderful and apt included two beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, boogie board and even beach toys. Close to many activities, and we appreciated the proximity to a supermarket as well. Couldn’t ask for more. Will definitely return.

Perfect “First Time” Hawaiian Vacation

This was our first time going to Hawaii and we were very glad that we found this property to stay in during our visit. We thought the pictures were beautiful but it really did exceed our expectations in person. The condo was super clean and had every amenities you can think of and then some. The beds were comfortable and the ac was always in the right temperature. Duke’s Restaurant is right by the pools and coffee shop is in the lobby. Great lattes. Great Acai bowls. We enjoyed walking on the path right behind the property in the morning and were treated to rainbow sightings by the mountains almost every morning. Some evenings, we’d take a dip at one of the hot tub pools that are tucked around the pool area and we just abaolutely love them! Honua Kai is a quick 10 minutes drive to Lahaina. When we don’t feel like going to a restaurant for dinner, we easily walked to Broke da Mouth (a food truck court) and get some local food or get a Musubi Spam sushi from Times grocery store. All in all, staying at this property is what made our vacation. Mahalo KBM Resorts! Hopefully we’ll be able to come back soon!

Great place and location

With Duke‘s and the really nice pools, you’re basically staying at a high-end resort with the benefit of having a nicely maintained condo w kitchen.
