The views from this property are really incredible! Being able to walk so easily out to the beach from the porch was a great experience. We would happily stay here again.

The house was lovely and the view from the deck was beautiful. We had a great time on our girls beach trip and hope to make it an annual tradition.

Family Thanksgiving

This was the perfect location for our family to gather for Thanksgiving. The house accommodated us well and was very comfortable. The views from the deck were stunning and were one of our favorite parts of this vacation!

Family vacay

This was our first time staying here and we really enjoyed our stay. It has everything you need. We love it being steps to the beach especially with our 1 year old grandson! We will definitely be back!☀️

Family Christmas trip

We had a fantastic stay! The house was well set up for a group. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies, plates, glasses and good sized fridge. The double outside decks are a dream!!

Xanadu West

We had a great visit at Xanadu West for our first time at Emerald Isle. We had a few issues during our stay but Matt was super responsive. You can’t beat the location being right on the beach. Definitely would come back again!

Total relaxation combined with adventure

Xanadu west was just as advertised, great for families with a large outdoor space on 3 levels. Being right on the beach was amazing, even the 4 year old could hang out and wait for us to accompany her for sand castle building. As usual, the kitchen and living room/dining room were the focus of the action with a panoramic view of the sea. I will definitely return!

Enjoyed our stay

Overall we had a great time, and we loved the location! The house was clean and comfortable, and views from the house and decks were spectacular. We appreciated good communications from the host as well as access to beach chairs and toys. We did run into some delay getting access to the key for check-in, and there were a few minor things that could be improved (e.g. despite being well labeled, some light switches didn't work; dishwasher was quite loud and we had to hand wash some dishes that didn't come out clean). But overall we would recommend this as a good place to stay.

Fantastic beach access

The best house for accessing the beach, it's a very short stroll from the deck to the ocean. No walkway, no stairs, no high dune to climb, it's fantastic. The house is great too, comfortable, clean, has everything you may need. As with most beach houses, there are a lot of stairs (most of my family has knee issues), but that's just how these houses are built. We already booked our return visit for next year!

Amazing stay!

We enjoyed staying at Xanadu West. It was everything we were hoping for and more. The home smelled amazing the entire stay! Plenty of items such as cups and plates for our entire family. We had everything we needed at our fingertips. The views are amazing! We enjoyed sitting on the decks and watching the birds and dolphins in the water. The owner responded quickly to the few questions I had before our arrival. I definitely give this place 5 stars!

House was in great location and had nice extras-kids necessities, beach chairs, sand toys, nice outdoor furniture. Bed/pillows were not the most comfortable, but worked. Kitchen has most items needed although some cooking utensils need replacing. Sprayer on kitchen sink does not work, but not a big deal. Overall, a nice place-I would stay here again.

A+ Experience at Xanadu!

The pictures barely do Xanadu justice. This place was fantastic. It had everything we needed, was clean, stocked, great location, and above all an easy, smooth process. Communication was top notch, the ocean, even though it is my fickle friend provided days on end of enjoyment. The Home Xanadu, was the icing on the cake. It was absolutely wonderful, no complaints just a relaxing week at the beach in a Xanadu, dreamland home.

perfect!

A lot of beach houses are either about location OR comfort. This house offers both and so much more! The home is modern, spacious, and well stocked. It has clearly been remodeled very recently in soothing tones and it is obvious the owners put the extra love and touches we all want in our own homes. My family thought it was by far the best beach home we have stayed in on Emerald Isle and cannot wait to go back!!

Fabulous location!

From past experiences, we bring our own pitchers, crockpot, skillet, knives and pots but were well pleased with the kitchen items already on hand. The outside shower was a lifesaver for all the sand in our hair and clothes plus 4 people could clean up at the same time (including the 3 inside showers). Both decks were well used for watching the waves and chilling. Really loved the short walk from the deck to the water. Ready for the next trip to Xanadu West!!!

Girls trip

We had a wonderful vacation in Emerald Isle. Hose is just as described. Loved that it’s ocean front! Our only issue was, the a/c on the top level, didn’t cool properly. However, that would not keep me from renting it again. Probably just needed servicing. Overall, great house, great location!

Great Location

Upon arrival the house needed to be cleaned again which was promptly handled. The location the beach is second to none. The property has been well used and showing signs of wear from previous renters. The owner is the best I must say. We addressed some concerns with a need for mats and linens and he drove from Raleigh that day to address them that day. This is an owner that cares about those who stay. Even though we brought our own, there were plenty of boards, chairs and beach toys. The direct beach access amd the decks over looking the water were amazing.

just ok

Honestly, we had no issues with the house. The view and closeness to the water is amazing. Truly loved that aspect. Upon check in, mice droppings were found on one of the beds. We went out and purchased traps to handle situation. Communicated the problem through pics, advised it would be handled. Two days later my dad went to shave with his electric razor, the mouse had chewed his cord to expose the electric wires. Let the owner know, he responded in shock and advised that someone would be out Friday to handle. It was the earliest they could come. We checked out Saturday. Friday morning, woke up to find our bread on the counter had been chewed into by the mouse. Sent pics with no response. We were told not to leave food on the counter to prevent ants, but we couldn't leave it in the cabinets because of the mouse. so, we battled ants and mice for the week. During the first phone conversation, Mark mentioned giving us some form of credit for the trouble but has never reached out again or extended anything for the troubles we faced all week.

Unfortunately, I am an out of town owner and was not able to make it down to address it myself and exterminating services are limited on the island. Best property we've stayed at on Emerald Isle and we've been coming for years. Right on the beach, making swimming and having beach fun with kids so easy and fun. The property had just about everything we needed. Two small FYIs that were not a problem for us but just so folks know: the curtains in the bedrooms are not light blocking but they are light filtering and the outside shower on our side of the duplex didn't work. However the hose right before coming up the stairs worked wonderfully and did all the heavy lifting of keeping our feet and gear clean from sand. Having three bathrooms was a Godsend for us as a group. We had four adults and three kids and we were very comfortable. We could have accommodated two more kids comfortably honestly!The property is actually more beautiful than the pictures suggest (!), especially the living room and dining room. It has beautiful vaulted ceilings with fans and the two decks were gorgeous. We absolutely LOVED our experience and would love to come back! Highly Recommended for families.
