Dette er en 300 kvadratmeter, et værelse, effektivitet kabine. Det er perfekt til et par udflugt på en ø i Maine! Set på Penobscot Bay, med dufte af fyr, seværdigheder og lyde af dyreliv, midt i det tilbagelagte liv på øen bor du kan opleve livet unplugged. Ejendommen sidder på en høj klippe og er beliggende i skoven ikke langt fra vandet. Forestil dig at lukke dine øjne, mens du sidder på dækket om aftenen lytter til vandet, der lapper langs kysten. Det vil straks tage din stress væk! Hvis du kan lide havglas, er der strande aplenty på øen, hvor du kan jage efter det. Du vil nyde en semi-privat strand og tidevandsbassiner til efterforskning om dagen og en hyggelig hytte om aftenen. Det er i et ord, 'uvurderlig'.

Ejendommen er på Islesboro Island og er tilgængelig med færge hver dag fra kl. 8 til 5 pm. Der er to generelle butikker på øen, men vi anbefaler at du afhenter dagligvarer på fastlandet, før du kommer over på færgen.

This cabin was just right for my needs. I was on a solo trip to rest and retreat. I was left alone and could easily have not spoken to a soul for the week that I was there. It is set high in the woods with a view of the water over the roof of a larger cottage on the property. A rocky beach is accessible down ladder-stairs which gave me no trouble. The island itself is quiet with 2 small general stores that close early. Not many places to eat out. There is a lovely library with a very friendly librarian. The cabin itself had everything needed, including kitchenette (nice hob, toaster oven, mini fridge, no freezer), a roomier than expected bathroom with a tiny shower, a box fan, closet and storage, extra blankets. The cabin itself isn’t isolated and completely peaceful, however. During my stay the adjoining cottage was occupied by two successive groups, both of which were extremely loud. The first with yelling, screaming, singing kids. I tried to lean into the singing and enjoy the joy. The second with adults with megaphone-volume voices. My luck that week, just be aware that it’s possible, and that despite this the rental fee is a bargain. Also note that access to this cabin is up an inclined path; it’s not possible to park near the door. Wi-fi service was good, no complaints.

Very cute and tidy efficiency cabin! My husband and I enjoyed the extra privacy while family stayed in the larger cabin below.

Great Getaway!

Perfect getaway in a great cabin. I would recommend it to anyone who just want to getaway from it all. We will definitely be back next year.

Checking in was easy. Spent most of my time at the place my cousins rented so I didn’t spend too much time at the cabin. The kitchen was fine for making coffee or a quick meal. Brand new stove that heated up super fast. I would stay there again.

Great short stay for 2

Much as advertised, great basic lower priced place to base for intro to Islesboro. Stayed 3 nights. Only complaint were that the fancy stove top didn't work making preparing meals challenging between use of 'fryer', charcoal grill and our own camping

Glad that you enjoyed your stay. The stove does work. The power had gone out and the breaker just needed to be turned off and on again. We will put this into instructions for the cabin so renter will know for the future.

Beautiful Island Cabin

While me and husband tend to camp and have kayak camped on Warren Island, we wanted to kayak around Islesboro. We found this cabin to be very comfortable and it had everything we needed for our stay. Despite my worry that the bed would be too small, I found it to be quite comfortable. Great place to stay for a vacation.

Beautiful relaxing stay.

It was very peaceful and beautiful location. It would be nice to have a journal so that people could share tips and experiences. I was fortunate to have spoken to a sheriff who gave us tips on what to do that weren't publicized anywhere

11 day getaway

This is not our first time in the cabin. It is the perfect getaway. We would recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway. Great communication with owners and a wonderful cleaning woman.

Small camp by the ocean

We found the camp to be as advertised. The location is scenic and Islesboro is a nice community. It made for a quiet vacation. I might have missed it in the description, but there was no freezer in the small refrigerator.

Great Cabin

This small secluded cabin had everything we needed to cook, eat, relax and sleep comfortably, and it was bigger than I expected from the description. We didn't use the beach at the house, but we walked the short distance to see it. The cabin had a great view of the water, particularly nice in the moonlight. It was obvious that the host had thought of everything that would contribute to a enjoyable stay.

Isleboro

Nice place except keys were not left for us. Description a bit misleading, especially going to the water. My husband ended up not going any farther than the deck.

Charming Cabin in the Woods

The cabin was well equipped and very clean and pretty. The family was very nice and the daughter was helpful. Since it is "pet friendly" I was able to bring my Boston Terrier with me. However, due to the foggy, rainy weather we were not able to enjoy it completely. Would be ideal for younger, hardier folks who like to hike, or a romantic getaway in the woods for a couple.

I was not able to stay at the property because it smelled of black mold. My throat and eyes starting burning as soon as I entered the property. I contacted VRBO and the owner and left. I missed the ferry back to the mainland. I ended up having to stay at a home of someone I met at the ferry. They were gracious to let me stay with them. It was a horrible experience. Shame on VRBO for having this place on their website. You have lost my business for good.

Quaint, romantic getaway cabin

This is our second stay at this cabin and won't be our last. The location is great, there's a beach just down the hill, there's a slight oceanview, bed is comfortable, fans are sufficient for warm days, there's a little heater for any damp nights, the cabin is clean. For the cost, it is as it should be. If someone is staying in the cottage below, the parking is a bit cramped and the situation is not as private as I prefer. To gain access to the path to the shore you have to walk onto the neighbor's porch which feels a little intrusive. Overall, it's a wonderful experience on an amazing island.

Rustic cabin getaway

Some real positives about the cabin: cleanliness, comfortable bed, great Wi-Fi, had all the needed equipment for cooking and grilling (note: coffee pot is stored in the closet...took me a minute!) Really well appointed for a single person.A few downsides: It would be tight for a couple (for example, there is only one "comfy" chair, the double bed is tight for two). The biggest downside, and the reason for my overall 4 star rating, is the parking. As other reviews stated, this is shared with another cabin. I and the other guests both had small cars and it was a squeeze. To get into my side of the space meant driving over roots and branches. Two SUVs (or even one and another car) just wouldn't fit. Having the other cabin right in front of you is also not my ideal for privacy. Overall - the price was right, the cabin is well-tended, and Islesboro is lovely. Parking problems may be a small price to pay.

Idyllic spot

We had a fantastic time in this idyllic spot far from the hustle and bustle of our regular life. I think Juli is new to homeAway so I will leave a detailed review. The cabin is basic but is clean and has everything you need. There are comfortable chairs, a gorgeous sea view from inside, a little deck and a nice soft bed. The kitchen consists of an adequate but small fridge, 2 electric rings, an electric fry pan, a microwave, toaster and coffee pot. There is no oven, we made flatbread as "good" bread deliveries to the island are limited. Happy to share the recipe! There is a steep wooden stair down the cliff to a private beach. The fabulous thing about the beach is that there is NO mud at low tide, so swimming is great at any time (bring water shoes). This also means that it is pretty much bug free. And the water is clean and crisp, just delicious really. The island is a really special place. Folks are friendly and helpful. For example, when we were looking for boating options we got somebody's mother's phone number. We did find a kayak, but next time we will bring a boat of some kind, there are several public ramps. There is internet in the cabin, but if you need faster speeds the library has a good connection. If you want to watch movies (we did not) probably best to download before you arrive. All in all a fantastic spot for 2. Probably could have a non-mobile baby (wouldn't recommend the place for a toddler) or an 7+ year old. We hope to return.

Super location on Isleboro

Everything was just as described. Forgot how tight a double bed could be for 2 adults. For a few nights, it was doable. The access to the shore out front is quite a bonus for this price.

This property has been in our family for generations and passed down. We have so many memories of exploring the woods and beaches, taking long walks, walking to Durkee's general store for a soda or ice cream bar, of sailing, and doing other water sports, including swimming (brrr!) It's a special place to build family time together away from all the distractions of daily life, enjoying the beauty and tranquility that is Maine coastal living.

Island living, especially being by the water, is very unique. By taking a ferry you're literally leaving behind the busy-ness of life. Things are slower on the island and you can't help but feel refreshed by the laid back quality of life here. Not having restaurants or other conveniences really gets people together during meal preparation and clean up. This is the time when we all have fun trying out recipes and enjoying the results! It's also wonderful not to be tied down to schedules for a short time. The other benefit of this area is that it's safe. You can explore many places all over the island without any worry.
