Our Bungalow offers a transformative retreat focused on your present being, letting go and embracing freedom through surrendering to what is, as you watch life happening all around you. With large sliding windows connecting you to nature, and dedicated spaces to relax.

The home features: a full kitchen with everything to make you a nutritious meal, a meditation room brimming with books, a Japanese mat for meditation and breathwork, and numerous other objects to bring you to sense a zen and calm. We curated a handmade deep soaking tub, for your bathing ritual with Yemaya, and a restful air conditioned bedroom leading to your own private pool.

Wellness is central here, with services curated for personal growth. Guests are encouraged to embrace stillness, find renewal, and reconnect with their inner peace in the serenity jungle space. We have a deck out back for a private yoga class or have a sun drenched afternoon. And if you happen to meet our residential sloth Luna then you are truly in the right space.

Jungle Butterfly Sanctuary

Calm, quiet, beautiful, secluded, comfortable enviroment, yet close to everything you need to complete your experience. Including a phenomenal resturaunt on the beach within biking/walking distance and a continuous parade of butterflys past the plung pool. The service and amenities the hosts provided were impeccable.

Perfect getaway!

This home is perfect! You don’t have to leave to see the wild life. We saw howler monkeys, hummingbirds, and parrots right from the back yard. Me and my husband loved the meditation room to just look out into nature and relax. Its located near the beach, 20 minute drive to Cahuita national park, and a 15 minute drive to Puerto Viejo. It has everything you need to enjoy Costa Rica!

Fantastic place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Buddha house! It was beautiful, bright, clean and the back yard was huge and lush with greenery. The house was very well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. (Tip: To get hot water in the kitchen, you have to run the bathroom sink at the same time, otherwise there is not enough pressure to get the hot water tank working.) It was a quiet location which was a nice change after having stayed in other towns where dogs were constantly barking and motorcycles were ripping up and down the roads. This Vrbo is a 5-minute drive to a black sand beach and 10-20 minutes to several other beaches, restaurants and shops. We got a pin drop to find the place and ended up having to message the host to get the exact location, but otherwise checking in was smooth. Be prepared to share the house with random insects, but that is the nature of places in Costa Rica, as houses are not completely sealed like they are in North America. We had tiny ants in the kitchen and I brought quite a few centipedes back outside but like I said, that's something to expect in Costa Rica. We were only planning to stay 3 nights, but we enjoyed the house and Puerto Viejo so much that we extended our stay to a full week. It was just as nice to lounge around the house as it was to go out and do things. I would definitely stay at this Vrbo again and just hope it will still be affordable when we go back to Costa Rica! It was a phenomenal deal for all that we got!

I am a NYC educator, I love teaching, learning and exploring...its the love of people and cultures is why I ventured in building a sanctuary in the jungle. I wanted it to be different, with touches of Caribbean culture mixed in with zen attitude but sprinkled with hip hop culture.

You will notice the art work, the details in the meditation room ( oils, books, scents, plants, etc), the care that I took in providing you more than the basics in the kitchen to make you a fabulous meal with a glass of wine/beer and to end your day with a hot soaking bath tub. I curated this home to be a place where you can get a way to- vs get a way from. That you simple unplug

Something that's needed to recharge, and rejuvenate you back to remembering who you are, I enjoy being a host...because I get to remind you that your power is within, and each day around the trees, our butterfly garden, the smells of jasmine, you remember...that what you are searching for has been here all along. You just needed a the birds to sing, good food, to laugh, to be still...to catch the glimpses...now step into the light... sit by the Buddha and be

This area gives you a 10 min ride to the hustle and bustle of music, beaches, great food...and then allows you to settle in, to a quiet respite in the day or evening. It's the best of both worlds, but allowing you to refresh under the starlight skies.

I can tell you, finding a soaking tub is Everything! Air conditioning in the bedroom and the sliding door to the sip and chill pool on the property is completely private... and such a sexy vibe! And as someone who loves to cook I knew the importance that a kitchen needs more than just salt and pepper. Damn it... you can literally and figuratively spice it up. Our meditation has everything a man/woman needs to balance their energies and reset... what we are providing is a reminder to get back to self love.
