Dette unikke hjem ligger i Fern Valley på toppen af den majestætiske bjergby Idyllwild, Californien. Big Rock Creek Lodge ligger i fyrretræerne over Strawberry Creek's farvande og bakker op til det prestigefyldte gated community Alpen Woods. Dette hjem er 3 soveværelser, 2 badeværelser. Det udsøgte soveværelse har naturskøn udsigt gennem miterede vinduer med en uhindret, nærbillede af Suicide Rock. Selvmordsrock kan også ses fra det ekspansive dæk. På det store dæk er der også en grill og en spa med Strawberry Creek lige ved siden af hjemmet. Hænge udenfor og lytte til den bumlende bæk, mens du nyder den smukke natur. Det hyggelige familieværelse har en eksklusiv stenpejs og et 42 tommer tv med plads nok til at underholde venner og familie. Cabin is in an amazing location. We loved every minute of our stay. The upstairs bedroom has a Priceless view. The deck with the constant Creek flowing is completely relaxing. We will definitely return.

The only issue we had was that the WiFi connection wasn’t working and we had no way of calling property management to let them know. It wasn’t a big issue for us but my 2 kids weren’t happy about it. If you don’t mind unplugging for a few days, this house is a great choice.

Everything about the home was perfect and exactly what we hoped for in a mountain getaway.The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which made cooking meals easy and convenient. The house was also stocked with numerous board games that kept everyone entertained and created some really fun family memories.One of our favorite parts was relaxing on the deck while listening to the creek running below the house — it was so peaceful and calming. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, especially in the cool mountain air with the beautiful scenery surrounding us. The views are incredible, and the setting truly feels like a relaxing retreat in the pines.The location was perfect for enjoying nature and spending quality family time together. We loved the cozy atmosphere of the home and appreciated how comfortable and welcoming everything felt.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Big Rock Creek Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain escape in Idyllwild.

Beautiful place, kind of a pain to check in

Place is really nice and fun to stay in. Check in is a hassle with all the forms, and no one was there to give us the key. They also try to nickel and dime you for everything.

Beautiful views, creekside location

The property is fantastic! Beautiful views from every room!!! Bonus, it is creekside and you can hear the rushing water from the deck, still flowing Nov 30 :) Not happy with the check in, although the staff was nice, you have to pick up the key in town at check in time and return it by check out time as well, which cuts into the rental time… check in at 4 PM and check out at 10 AM :( There are much better deals out there, and flexible owners… I prefer to book directly with the owner.

Mountain escape

We enjoyed our short visit to Idyllwild and from what we saw hope to return. This cabin was very comfortable, the view in the master bedroom was amazing. Every where you look there are beautiful views or unique and well chosen artwork. It was a little hard to cook in the kitchen (stove was not easy to adjust flame and pots didn’t have matching lids) but we found wonderful restaurants. The deck was so peaceful to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

Excellent on all fronts!!!

This experience was absolutely wonderful. From check in to departure - and the snow storm/power outage in-between - all was handled incredibly professionally. We purchased wood for every day - and there was PLENTY. With the power outage we were so glad that we had. The property was very well stocked with the basics, and Anthony was prompt and on top of everything. We cooked like kings and queens for 4.5 days straight - the cabin had everything we needed. Definitely will not book with anyone other than New Spirit in Idyllwild. Their property management is exceptional and we will return. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Service from “New Spirit” was excellent... we even got an assist with some snow removal (thankfully management encouraged us to leave a “low to the ground” auto at their rental office) due to the snow plow piling it up next to our car. I can’t say enough good things about this rental and the management. All of our needs/requests were attended to before and during rental. The extra wood we purchased was plentiful and A GREAT IDEA when heading to snow country where power may go out. Can’t wait to return to Idyllwild and this awesome rental. The hot tub was GREAT.

Beautiful home, beautiful setting!

The home is wonderful - gorgeous all-wood architecture with soaring windows in the main bedroom. Decor is tasteful modern rustic, and furniture and bedding is comfortable and clean. The shady back deck overlooks the creek, with table seating for 6-8 and 4 additional chairs. Even with close neighbors on both sides, it feels very secluded and private. In the winter, it might be a bit cozy if all beds were full - the bar is the only indoor eating space, and the living room would only comfortably seat 4 adults. However, if the weather is warm enough to use the outdoor areas, you’ll have plenty of space. The jacuzzi was hot when we arrived - heaven! We did not cook, but the kitchen seemed to have everything you might need in terms of equipment, and there is also a grill that we did not use. Coffee, tea, and very basic spices were provided. Location is a short drive to the village - probably too far to walk for most people. My only comment is that these days, it is very easy to have a lockbox or keyless entry vs having to visit the office in town. Overall, the property is excellent, and we would love to come visit again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 3 nights at Big Rock Creek Lodge and enjoyed every minute of it. The amenities are fantastic, the deck has a wonderful view with the calming sounds from Strawberry Creek, and everyone had a great time. My kids (7 and 5) really enjoyed the bunk beds and playing the different games. Would highly recommend, but there are several things to mention.1. This is a nice home, meaning the wooden floors, countertops, and decor need care and attention. Not recommended for those with untidy children, as it will stain or damage the property, which means $$ from you.2. The creek is not hikeable. There is private property all around. 3. The check in/out is a slight inconvenience, but an inconvenience regardless. You have to pick up and drop off the keys at the main office. Out of 20+ short term rentals I've stayed in, never have I had to drive to an office, find a lockbox out of 30 on a wall, and get the keys.4. The really long emails and archaic contract PDFs just add to the inconvenience. I understand the need to convey important information, but please format it properly rather than sending 1000 words (yes, I counted). Also, contracts should be via an e-sign provider, not PDFs to fill out, scan and email back. And at the very least include check in/out and pricing details in the PDF before sending it out rather than having the customer fill it out.5. The property managers are very responsive and easy to communicate with. It was nice knowing that I could send a text and get a response back within minutes typically.

1- It is not a 7 people home. One bed is full and you cannot even sit on it bc there is a bunk bed on top and you’ll hit your head to that. The room is tiny! There is no way two people can sleep on it! Maybe just 2 very young children, maybe! 2- One of us hit her head very badly to a sharp edge of a lamp frame and it cut his head. The frame was very low! Why would they place it there? So low??!!! It started bleeding and we needed alcohol in the middle of night. We were lucky it didn’t need stitches. I have pics! 3- The fire place did not work. All the smoke came back in and we we couldn’t make the fire. And yes, we followed all the instructions and opened the flue. 4- The room on the second floor has a spectacular view, BUT there is no wall that separates it from downstairs and you’ll hear people downstairs clearly, and can not sleep if someone down there is speaking!

Hello Tara, I am sorry that you feel this home did not fit your needs. The home is a lodge an open concept. You had 7 guests, 4 adults and 3 children, you say that the home was not adequate for you. There is a king bed in the master, then a queen bed in one of the bedrooms and lastly the smaller room that is perfect for children as you had 3, the top bunk being a twin and the bottom one being a double bed. I know that before you booked this home, you are able to see what it looked like, if this was not to you liking we could have found you another home. We also would have been very happy to assist you regarding the Fireplace and the incident that one of your guests had, yet, there was no complaints at all during your stay or that someone had gotten hurt by a lamp. This is something that has never happened before at the home. When we check our guests in we ask that they let us know if there is anything they may need or if there is something that is not right to let us know. There is also a white binder in the home to help you during your stay. Again, if you would have called us, we would have sent a team member to assist you with the Fireplace, we could have also moved you to another property if this home did not fit your needs. Relaxing & Cozy Cabin

The cabin is a rustic gem with great mountain views. Overall it was a lovely get away and the staff who helped with check in are wonderful. Do note this will be a real vacation as WIFI was non-existent. If you want to enjoy sitting in the deck in the evenings it does get dark and there is no outdoor lighting. Bring a headlamp so you don't trip on the stairs.

Beautiful but with one fatal design flaw

Great place except that the master bedroom (with an incredible view of the trees and mountain) is more like an open loft than a clsoed bedroom. It has no wall or glass separating it from the rest of the house, so you can hear everything from the living room and kitchen. We couldn't fall asleep until everyone else left the living area and the minute someone walked into the living area in the morning, the sound would wake us up. So, terrible room for anyone who doens't sleep very soundly or has trouble sleeping. Still, very beautiful.

The Best Mountains Rental

Gorgeous views! Best rental I've had in the mountains and in my top 5 of all. Great, friendly, very very helpful management. Clean. Well decorated. Comfy. Perfect getaway.
