Set on 3 private acres, the property features multiple outdoor living spaces, including a covered deck with a dining area, lounge seating, and a gas grill facing some of the best views in the Hermosa Valley. With two living rooms on separate levels, ensuite-style bedroom spacing, and easy access to local attractions like Dalton Ranch Golf Course and Durango Hot Springs, this home is ideal for families and groups seeking a true Colorado mountain retreat. Whether you're here for skiing, hiking, relaxing, or exploring, this peaceful mountain escape offers room to spread out and unwind year-round.

• As with most properties in the area, the house does not have AC and it is generally its not needed as the downstairs stays plenty cool and the upstairs has a nice breeze that runs thru the home in summer and there is plenty of air flow since the house is on acreage. There are portable fans in the house.

The house was beautiful and clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We were very relaxed there. Loved the deck!! It was an amazing place to stay!

Great property with unbeatable views. It is secluded but there are several neighbors nearby so you are not up on a mountain all alone. You can see and hear the trains as they come and go throughout the day! We went in July and it was very warm. The evenings/mornings were comfortable but the mid day was very warm, even with the fans provided and windows open. There are no blackout/darkening curtains on the lower level (which for us was the kid level) which meant the kids were up with the sun.. about 6am every day. The giant closet off the master was a great landing point for all our luggage and clothes and kept everything from getting too scattered. We will always remember the blue roof house on the mountainside!

Great views and great house. It was perfect for two families with the split living space! Bunk room is very nice for kids and you cant hear the upstairs guests while youre downstairs! House has everything you need and then some! Ive stayed in a lot of rentals and their cookwear is the best! No your average beat up junk. Would highly recommend!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property. It was a bit warm in mid June when we arrived and the house was quite warm. There is no AC. I think if host opened windows and adjusted the blinds it would have been more comfortable upon our arrival. I was advised to look for floor fans and only found one. The other days we were able to air it out and keep the temperature comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked, fridge/freezer very clean. The beds were very comfortable. There was no TV in the main sitting area. The balcony has awesome views and we enjoyed sitting out there day and night to enjoy the birds, scenery and stars. When we arrived the covers for all the furniture had been blown off and there was a coating of dirt/dust that I had to remove in order to sit and enjoy. Again, if host does a quick check upon arrival, this could have been avoided. Overall I give it a 4.

You are correct many mountain homes in the area do not have Air Conditioning but we do provide fans and it cools down significantly in the evenings. Thank you for mentioning that the kitchen was well appointed for your stay and the refrigerator and freezer were clean and the beds were comfortable. It sounds like your group was able to enjoy the gorgeous views from the balcony including stars at nighttime. We appreciate your feedback regarding the furniture covers. We regret that you had to dust off the space before you could enjoy it; that is certainly not up to VRC's standards and we will address that with our team.
