My family had the best time at this house. The house has everything you need, and the setting right on the water is beautiful! My kids loved kayaking and paddle boarding as well as fishing right off the dock. We’ll definitely be back!

Our group of ladies enjoyed our stay, utilizing the kayaks easily, shady swing And setting up our personal chairs On the dock. The bath had ample towels for our group and cozy blankets for Lounging. Communication was prompt and courteous. I would definitely book again!

This house was amazing for space and comfort! It felt like home away from home. Be ready to do some kayaking and some fishing from the dock. Lots of fishes! All the things you need are there for your use except the boat ofcourse! I will definitely return when the time is right.

I can’t say enough good things about this home. We stayed here for a weekend in May and it was perfect. Super relaxing, great fishing off the dock, hammocks underneath the house for quick naps and close enough to Oriental for a good/easy meal. The host was incredibly responsive and the house was clean and updated. HighlyReccomend!

Family Vacation

The house was great and the view was beautiful. Unfortunately there were jellyfish in the water around the dock so we couldn't swim, but did some sightseeing around the area, took the ferry over to Shackleford Island, saw the wild horses, and spent time at that beach. Great trip and we love New Bern.

Perfect Oriental Getaway!

We absolutely loved this house and the location is exactly what we were looking for. We were able to keep our boat in the water and it’s tucked far enough back that there’s very little boat “traffic”. The beds were great, the kitchen was well stocked and it just truly felt like home there! The Piggly Wiggly just five minutes down the road had most everything we need, but we did take a rainy day trip to New Bern just 30 minutes away where there was a lot to see in their quaint downtown area. We enjoyed our stay, thanks so much!

We loved staying at this house on the water! Our boys were on the dock from before sunrise until after sunset. Loads of amenities like kayaks and bikes. Neighbors were kind. Thank you!

We had a great stay. The fully stocked kitchen was amazing. Spices, seriously I could have shown up with a protein and sides and found enough spices to cook up a delicious meal. They even had a rice cooker! The house was decorated nicely and there was everything we could possibly need (blankets, towels, Kleenex, etc.). It's in a quiet and peaceful location right on the water. They offered recreational items (bikes, paddle board, kayaks) and there were hammocks and and outdoor swing and chairs to sit and enjoy the peace & quiet. Our host was most accommodating and quickly communicated information to assist me. The property is also pet friendly. They even had a little dog bed, which our dogs (who both are too big) squished in that little bed (not together) and enjoyed their naps. The neighborhood is quiet and it was safe to walk the dogs for their evening walks. I didn't see a car on any of the dog walks. BYO flashlight as there are no street lights although I bet if I looked there probably was one I could use. The lack of street lights is a bonus for star gazing. The furniture and beds were comfortable and there are two full baths. I would stay here again. It was by far the best vacation rental we've stayed in to date. Thank you!

Absolutely Beautiful, Comfortable, and Truly Felt Like HomeThis home in Oriental was absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The wrap-around deck is incredible and overlooks the water, giving you peaceful views no matter where you are. Everywhere you look, there are windows—out the front you feel nicely private with trees, and out the back you’re looking directly over the water.The house is very spacious and thoughtfully set up. There are four bedrooms, all with dressers for clothing, and the kids’ bunk room was especially great—large, comfortable, with a TV and two fun chairs they loved hanging out in. The two bathrooms had everything we needed, including a hairdryer, which was a nice touch.The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We cooked almost every day (at least one meal a day), and there wasn’t a single thing missing. The appliances were great, and we appreciated having both a Keurig and a regular coffee pot—perfect for different preferences. There’s also a washer and dryer, which made the stay even more convenient.Outside, the property is just as wonderful. There’s a nice yard, a dock where you can pull up a boat, and plenty of places to relax. Below the deck there’s a swing, a couple of hammocks, and what looked like equipment you could use in the summer, such as kayaks and bikes (you’d want to confirm details with the owner). The area feels very private, with only a few neighbors, all of whom were quiet and friendly. We

Property clearly shows a boat lift on the dock, one of the main reasons I picked this place. upon receiving the check in instructions, the day before check in, I was made aware that the boat lift was not included after renting the place almost two months in advance. The boat lift had another boat on it, blocking half of the dock from being able to be used for fishing. The underside of the house, which is a congregation area for people to hang out had approximately 4-5 cameras that were not listed in the property description. Not a comfortable feeling at all. I asked the host about the boat lift and the cameras and she stated that it was all in the description of the property. Not true at all, there was no mention of either. I went back and took screenshots of the entire listing and no mention of either. We were not supplied with the door lock code to get in and after 8-10 phone calls we finally got an answer saying it should’ve been on the check in instructions. I agree, it should’ve been. But it wasn’t. I tried to find another rental within the first few hours of being at this property and everything that fit our needs was booked. That’s why I booked this place so far in advance, only to be deceived. I feel that this info was left out intentionally to make the value of the rental higher. The boat on the lift, blocking half of the fishing access from the doc was unnecessary also, as it wasn’t listed that it would be that way in the description.

Oh Dave, I’m so sorry you were disappointed. Since the boat lift was so important to you it seems like you would have verified its access in one of the two messages you sent me with other questions, to which I responded promptly, you even thanked me for my quick response. The very first line in the instructions it states “the boat lift is NOT a part of the rental”. I’m so sorry you missed. If you had asked me for some sort of compensation, I would have gladly given it to you. Upon your arrival, you reached out to me at 5:12pm and we spoke at 5:20pm, that’s 8 minutes. Certainly room for improvement. Im sorry you disliked the dock. All our other guests seem to thoroughly enjoy fishing off the dock. As to the cameras, what you call unsettling most people call security.

Our home is roomy and comfortable; not too big and not too small. The bedrooms are just the right size and there are multiple places for your family to gather weather its in one of the two living spaces, large kids bunk room, the kitchen and nook, the table by the back door, the large deck or the expansive patio under the house or the large back yard or my personal favorite, the dock.
