This was the best week of vacation weve ever had! We can not wait to cosit again and wil DEFINITELY be staying at turtle casa! Such a beautiful property right on the water! Host was the best VRBO host ive ever had(and weve had a bunch) so quick with responses and always helpful! House was sti ked great!

Perfect location

We enjoyed our stay at Turtle Casa. Very clean and Marnie was very responsive to all our questions. The location was perfect for us. Quiet and close enough to get anywhere.

Perfect rental for R&R after long days volunteering!.

Beautiful house and property. Plenty of space in the Billiard suite for 6 people (2 kids). Loved the doc and taking the kayaks out to the reef.

Wonderful stay at Turtle casa

Beautiful condo and setting on the beach. The best sunsets. Kayaks and reef just off the beah. Condo has everything and more to make your stay special. Marni a grat host easy to contact and responsive to your needs

Wonderful first stay in Roatan

Turtle Casa was a great find for our first trip to Roatan and our first VRBO. We were able to use the kayaks and had wonderful snorkeling right in front of the property. The game suite was awesome for our family and we spent a lot of time enjoying the patio over the ocean and played some pool in the evenings. Marnie is a great host and offered us fantastic ideas for meals as well as tips for excursions and renting a car. We had a great trip and will definitely be back!

Close to West End and came with everything

I can’t say enough good things about the property. The Turtle Casa came with everything we needed. We stayed in the gaming suite, one adult, and two girls ages 10 and 13. We loved it. It was truly our home away from home. First, the view is amazing. The reef is right outside with an amazing dock. The rooms were nicely laid out and well stocked with linens, towels, and cookery. It really was close to everything. It was an easy 15 minutes from west end and there were several markets nearby. Eldon’s was also 15 minutes away. So it really is convenient. I loved that my kids got to see how locals lived. You are in a neighborhood and people who live on the island are nearby. We went walking at night and I felt completely safe. I highly recommend for many reasons. The place is stocked with tons of games, tons of movies, and great WiFi. You will not be bored! Marnie, specifically, was awesome to talk to. She communicated everything I needed. I probably could have read more than I did but she walked me through so many things. Really I recommend everything about this place!

Wonderful Stay in the Gaming Suite!!

It was a unique experience to stay in a neighborhood away from the touristy areas, which allowed us to experience the culture and meet some locals who were kind people although the neighborhood reflects the economic situation. We enjoyed watching children playing and the activity at the fishing charter business next door. The apartment is very spacious and equipped everything we needed. We loved the huge balcony and awesome dock with many comfy seating options. The sea view and sunsets are amazing, and the kayaks were a nice bonus! We were worried about the bugs, but they werent a problem. The provided bug spray worked on the few biting gnats at sunrise/sunset, no mosquitoes, we wore water shoes on the beach and didn’t get sand flea bites. We fished from the dock and caught small reef fish but didn’t have luck with the bonefish that were often swimming by. We didnt rent a car, it was an easy walk to the main road and hail a taxi, which were plentiful. This was our 1st time using VRBO outside of the US, which was a big step especially in a developing country. Marnie is a great host who helped us feel confident with her great documentation and quick response to messages. We left feeling rejuvenated and wanting to help the islanders. Marnie and her team are active in the local community and she helped connect us to ways to contribute (only after I asked, no pressure at all from her). We hope to return to Roatan in the future, and would definitely stay here again!

Nice!

Turtle Casa was great. We stayed in the Penthouse suite, which has a large deck that overlooks the caribbean. The sunsets are amazing. During the day it’s a great place for lounging in the hammocks. There are two bedrooms - the “master” suite and the “guest suite”. I stayed in the guest suite, which has it’s own bathroom with double sinks, shower/tub, and toilet. The only difference I found between the two bedrooms was the master had a king size bed. My bed was very comfortable (I’m going to see if I can find the brand when I get home). Our friends stayed in the Gaming Suite, which is just below us. This is a great space too, with the same large deck facing the sea and lots of windows. The pool table is in great shape, and I had fun with the electronic dart board. The house is very solidly constructed, which meant that we really didn’t hear any noise coming from below, even though our friends had 2 small, energetic children. When I travel to foreign countries, I like a combination of eating out and cooking my own meals using local ingredients. I found the kitchen was equipped with pretty much anything I needed (make sure to get spices at the store, as there were only the basics when I arrived). When we felt like going out for dinner or lunch, West End, with all it’s restaurants and night life, is less than a 10 minute drive. We had a car, and I highly recommend having one anywhere you stay on the island - there is so much to see! But if you want to use a taxi the property managers have special drivers they can hook you up with. Another thing that’s important for me is “chill” space: I like to hang out and do touristy things, but I also love a peaceful spot to retreat to - Turtle Casa was perfect for that. The dock is cool for hanging out, swiming, boating, or catching water taxis. There are fishing guides that run their operation from there! I brought my fly fishing equipment, and found out that Sandy Bay is actually one of the better spots on the island for Bonefish and Permit. I caught 3 bonefish *right in front of the house* - the first was almost six pounds! My friend’s daughter had a blast catching reef fish right off the dock. There’s also kayaks which guests are free to use at any time. We went to Spooky Channel daily, which has amazing snorkeling (it’s just a 5 minute row!). I could have hung out at the house exclusively and did all the snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and relaxing that I wanted. It was just GREAT.

AMAZING stay at Turtle Casa

I can't say enough about the month I spent at Turtle Casa in the Gaming suite. the view, the room and the support was even better than advertised. Our Host Marnie needs a new title because Super Host is an understatement for her, she is in contact with you from the time you book until after you leave making sure all your needs are being satisfied. I was worried a month may have been too long but this place was so perfectly located I wish I spent two months there. I will definatly be back and will bring out travel friends.

All fun and games

We really enjoyed the gaming suite at Turtle Casa. After a great day of diving, snorkling, kayaking, shopping in Westend, it was so convenient to return to a fully appointed home and prepare a great meal, followed by some billiards, darts, cards, a movie, or just relaxing and watching the sun set on the private dock. We did all those things. The gaming suite was ideal for 2 couples traveling together but I think it would also be great for a family with teenagers.

Great island getaway!

I stayed at Turtle Casa with friends in April and we had a fabulous time! The home has been extensively updated recently which made the stay even more enjoyable. Very comfortable beds and nice quality linens, towels and pillows (a must for me!). The Penthouse is really sweet and has the feel of a very expensive hotel. The gaming suite was terrific for congregating together and having fun in the evenings. The large covered decks on all levels with loungers and hammocks made mornings and evenings really pleasurable for relaxing and just taking in the sights and sounds of the ocean and sunsets. We rented a car so having the garage was also a real bonus, keeping our car safe and cool. Turtle Casa is in a local island neighborhood, away from the tourist areas, and the local people were quite friendly. We enjoyed this aspect as West End and West Bay are quite busy and noisy - lot's of fun for night life and going to the beach during the day, but nice to retire to Turtle Casa in the evening where we could enjoy the peace and quiet of the ocean (there were the occasional local dogs barking, but all in all it is quite peaceful and quiet). All of the activities we were interested in were very close to the house so it was never a big inconvenience to make the short trip to all the places we wanted to see. All in all I highly recommend Turtle Casa for anyone considering Roatan for their next vacation, particularly if you're interested in snorkeling, diving or fishing. The kayaks were great and the snorkeling out in front of the house was some of the best we found on the island. Diving operators will pick you up right at the dock and the next door neighbor has a fabulous fishing charter as well. His sunset cruise was amazing and all we had to do was walk out the door and get on the boat! Thanks again for a great trip. We hope to visit the island again and will definitely stay at Turtle Casa.
