Book it!!This cabin was a great setup for my wife, two little girls and me for our trip to the Smokies. The deck's view is spectacular. This cabin just moved into setting the standard by which others will be judged if we can't stay here again. In October at least, the painted sky from sunrise and sunset are visible from the deck. The swing, patio table, rockers and hot tub provide many options to enjoy the view, and it's screened in to keep bug impacts to a minimum. Inside, the main area is nicely sized and flexible. In cabins, we aim to balance accessibility to civilization and out in the middle of no where feel. This cabin strikes the right balance. Pigeon Forge is around 10 minutes away, but at least when the leaves are on the trees, it feels like you're the only cabin on the mountain when you're on the deck. There is a cabin up the hill behind you and one some distance below. You can see the cabin behind when behind the house, and you can sometimes hear people in the cabin below through the trees, but it feels very private. The host is very communicative and helpful.Three things worth noting: First, the road up may make some drivers nervous. It's narrow, winding and has a sharp drop-off on the side in some parts. It feels too small, but our larger Honda Pilot was fine. Second, the kitchen was not as well stocked as others. If you plan to bake, for instance, bring measuring cups. Third, low water flow in bathroom faucets is a bit inconvenient but (slowly) works out.
