House was clean and cozy, technology and appliances in great condition, and owners were responsive to questions via email.

Great property, excellent location

3rd time renting, close to our jobsite and amenities. Will need to rent again in a few weeks. Everything you need is at house and well kept.

Really Cozy!

Adults favorite: The Kitchen/Upstairs Area & Deck Kids: Downstairs with Pool table & Big Screen This house was a great rental! We loved having our own bedrooms with private baths. Views were great & it was close to all the restaurants & stores. Definately will be back!

Awesome location

House was nice. I think they need to indicate that driveway is very steep and you can bottom out very easily. Grill was not cleaned by previous person and we actually had issues with water being orange and the well pump - most likely due to rain. Location and the house itself awesome - if you’re looking for views this wouldn’t be the prime place. Was awesome that they have and outside covered area off porch to eat and gather under as it was rain for half our stay. One of the reasons I picked this place was the availability of crib, and indicated child safe. It delivered on that with exception that baby gate for stairway could be better.

We would book again!

Overall this property was amazing. A few things seemed a little dirty/worn but not food areas or bathrooms - those were great. Having a bathroom for each bedroom was wonderful. The stairs are steep on the outside and on the inside but as long as you're careful they are fine. We got 7" of snow which was incredible! But you would for sure need 4 wheel drive if there was potential for winter weather. The driveway is steep. The location of the house is wonderful. We loved easy access to Blowing Rock and Boone. The view from the deck are wonderful. We saw a deer outside our bedroom window. We really enjoyed the pool table. The air hockey and ping pong are in the unheated garage so it was too cold for us to use those but would be great during warmer weather. The neighborhood that the house is in is really nice and felt totally safe. It was me, my husband, and our 2 adult sons. We all agreed that we'd like to rent the same place next year!

A fine place, but...

The views from the deck are wonderful, and the house is as spacious as advertised with lots of extras – high end appliances, pool table, fire pit, Jacuzzi, patio heater and more. But we encountered some problems that could be easily remedied. First, the TV. After juggling three remote units, we were able to turn the TV on and to activate the sound. However, the sound tended to drop out for no apparent reason, and could be reactivated by turning the system on and off repeatedly using various buttons on the remotes: “System On/Off,” “Power,” etc. Instructions would have been helpful. The same went for the dishwasher. It’s a state-of-the art model, but the first time we tried to use it, we could not get it to function properly. Again, there was no manual but one of our party found and downloaded a copy. Dishes successfully washed. The grill appears to operate with both natural gas and propane. We found a tank of propane, and a natural gas outlet and connecting hose. But again, without any instructions, we decided to cook the steaks inside. They were delicious. The only information provided by the homeowners were driving directions, how to access the property and checkout information (incorrectly listing the times that the trash area is open). If they would include basic instructions for the TV/cable/internet access and appliances – especially the gas ones – guests would be able to enjoy all of the amenities they provided.

Great stay

We really enjoyed the cabin and all the amenities. We were missing a couple of things but the hosts were so wonderful to work with. Took care of everything as quickly as possible. There wasn’t any negative things about it but the driveway is a little tricky to turn around on with a large vehicle. We were close to all we wanted to see but preferred the cabin and just relaxing on the porch around the fire. Great getaway! Thanks so much!

Great house for both adults and kids

We really enjoyed our stay at Cozy Bear. The location was great and we were able to enjoy a day of river tubing in Todd, a nice hike at Elk Knob State Park, and about an hour's drive to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail. We had two families with 4 adults and 3 kids and the house layout was perfect. The kids had plenty of things to entertain themselves once we were settled in for the evenings. The adults enjoyed the gorgeous views from the balcony. The covered balcony was amazing with a couple of rain storms that came through. Overall we really enjoyed the home. Our only complaint was that the beds could use a little attention. But that wouldn't keep us from staying here again.

Awesome cabin with great views. Had a wonderful time and will be returning to enjoy this cabin. The fire pit outside made an awesome addition to the night viewing of the beautiful mountains.

A lovely cozy cabin!

My fiancé and I stayed here with another couple for the weekend and had a great time. The owners were really helpful in accommodating a couple of requests we had, so they were excellent hosts! It’s a lovely home, but the driveway is a bit tricky so be sure you go slowly when you back out. The kitchen is upstairs and the steps are kind of steep, but the grippy mats on the steps are helpful. The pool table is a lot of fun and there’s a gas fire pit on the porch where you get a great view of the stars, so it has some nice amenities. Super cute cabin with comfy beds and showers were nice. Will stay here again!

More than the pictures

The cabin itself is beautiful. Even better than the pictures. The view from the upper deck was amazing and perfect for relaxing and coffee! The amenities of the home were perfect with kitchen completely furnished, the outdoor table with propane, the electric outdoor heater as well as the grill. Baby it’s cold outside!

Beautiful property in an upscale neighborhood. Outstanding eastward view from the enormous second floor deck! Great place to watch the sunrise. Upgraded appliances and very comfortable beds. If I were to make a suggestion, it would be to change the way the garbage is handled. It was pretty inconvenient to have to haul the garbage several miles to a dumpster. Perhaps a $50 fee and the garbage could be taken by the cleaning crew. Other than that, I would highly recommend this property.

Overall nice cabin with beautiful Mountain View’s

The property was nice and looked like the photos in the listing. Unfortunately the fireplace did not work which was disappointing but the owners were very apologetic and offered a gift card for the inconvenience. Cabin was clean and had good amenities. The only cons were there were not a lot of bath towels. We had a party of 7 and were staying for a week, there was one towel per guest. Also, you have to take your trash to a landfill which we never did find. Being that it was Christmas, we had a lot of trash so that was really inconvenient on our way out last Sunday with a car full of luggage. Finally, if you are staying during Christmas there is not a tree. This was not typical of other cabins we stayed in at Christmas. Not a big deal if you don’t mind bringing your own but it did add extra luggage to our trip with presents for three kids and luggage for seven. Owners were very responsive and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great Stay!

We really enjoyed the cabin and the location was excellent. It was easy to get to and very clean. It was exactly as advertised and the view from the upper deck was amazing. We enjoyed the pool table and would choose to stay here again.

Review

We enjoyed our stay. This home has a lot of upgrades and was well stocked. Beds were comfortable and everything was in working order. Only thing we did not like were all the stairs.

ASU Move-In

We rented this property during Freshman move in at App State. The property was very clean, well equipped, and beautiful. Our main issues were beds were not comfortable, and driveway was difficult to manage with larger SUVs. Overall we had a great stay.
