One of my favorite parts of being a host isn’t just sharing a place to stay-it’s helping people create memories.

I love welcoming guests to Baybeary Cottage and sharing beautiful places, local restaurants, small businesses and hidden gems that make our corner of Southwest Colorado feel so special. Seeing families reconnect, couples celebrate and travelers discover something new makes all the hard work worthwhile.

For me, hosting is more than a house-it’s about making people feel at home helping them experience our community and knowing they leave with memories they’ll treasure. That’s why I love what I do.

People often ask why we chose Bayfield for Baybeary Cottage.

My answer is simple-I love the small town community. We’ve called this area home for many years. All of our kids went to school here. This town has always felt welcoming, friendly and supportive.

When we found this home, I didn’t just see a vacation rental. I saw an opportunity to share a community that has meant so much to our family. I love introducing visitors to the local parks, restaurants, shops, and beautiful scenery that make Bayfield such a special place.

My hope is that every guest leaves with wonderful memories, not only of staying at Baybeary Cottage but experience in the charming kindness that makes Bayfield feel like home.

People often ask how we came up with the name Baybeary Cottage.

The”Bay” comes from the wonderful town of Bayfield that we love so much. The “/Beary” part comes from my love of bears they’ve always been one of my favorite things, and you’ll find little touches of bears throughout the cottage.

The name also has a special meaning for me personally. My husband, Dan and I even had bears on our wedding cake 39 years ago so when it came time to name our vacation rental, combining Bayfield with my love of bears just felt perfect

What makes Baybeary Cottage unique?

For us it’s all about creating a place that feels like home not just a vacation rental.

Every room has been thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, and many special touches have personal meanings. From the handmade quilts lovingly sewn by my mom to the bear- themed decor and cozy spaces for families to gather, we wanted our guests to feel welcomed the moment they arrive.

Outside you’ll find spaces to relax, play and make memories together whether it’s enjoying your morning coffee on the patio, watching the kids play or spending the evening under the Colorado sky, We hope you’ll feel right at home.
