The Doc House, en havnefront ejendom, med større opgraderinger og renoveringer i 2018. The property location was absolutely perfect - sunsets, passing sail boats and cargo ships. The beach walks were terrific with very easy access. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need for cooking or baking and serving. The golf cart seats 4 and was fully charged and ready to go. It was a joy to sit on the patio and watch sunsets.

Great Location! Good Fishing. Relaxing House

My wife and I spent a week at the Doc House for our first trip to Bald Head Island. The house was very comfortable and in a great location. The view from the house was fantastic. You can watch the boats going by as well as those going to the marina. Sunset views were perfect every night as the house faces west. Plenty of birds to watch and saw dolphins occasionally. We were pleased with the house. Beds were comfortable, furniture was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. We did not have any trouble fixing meals. There were basic spices as well. When bringing in your stuff there is a dumb waiter to help get it up to the kitchen. Bathrooms were great with plenty of hot water. The house was in a great spot for fishing. Bring a small cast net. Bait is plentiful. We caught flounder and a lot of large bluefish and other smaller fish that were fun to catch. We had both small rod and reels and surf rods and caught a lot of fish on both. We saw others nearby catch sharks and stingrays. We fished mostly at low tide in the evenings. When the blues were biting it was great. If looking for shells the house was close to the best beach about a half mile south. Very few people were on the beach near the house Mostly people walking and fishing. Water did not have tidal waves, just waves from the wind and a few boats. Easy area to swim. Just a quick drive to the regular beach if you wanted the big waves. The golf cart worked great for exploring the island. It never dropped below 90% anytime we used it, which we did a lot. I definitely recommend the Doc House and will be coming back.

Home was as described-simple, clean, well furnished and supplied. Plenty of beach towels and beach chairs. View from upper deck was perfect for sunsets and ship watching and the binoculars were a great addition. . We were blessed to see dolphins swim closely by the shoreline a few times. Be prepared to climb stairs to the kitchen with your supplies. Communication was great throughout our stay.

Old Baldy did not disappoint. The location was perfect. Shops, restaurants, historical attractions and other beach locations were only a short drive away via golf cart. The house was clean, inviting and very comfortable. We enjoyed the views from the balcony, especially the sunsets. My husband fished from the beach and my daughters and I collected sea shells and relaxed in the beach chairs provided. The check-in/out process was easy and communication with the property manager was excellent. My family and I will most definitely return to Old Baldy again soon!!

This was our first time at Bald Head Island. It was a couples trip. The process of getting to and returning from the island was easy and seamless. Doc House was a nice place well furnished and very comfortable overlooking the water. I would have liked to see more from the house but the bushes and trees were high. This was different than other houses around us which had clearer views. The location was good, near the marina and lighthouse. The golf cart worked great and we were able to see all parts of the island. Lack of seafood on the island was surprising. I would have loved to eat crabs or lobster while there. Didn’t have much luck catching crab either. It was a great experience and all of us were very relaxed. Definitely worth the trip.

Wonderful setting and view of the ocean while having coffee and dinner. Very private surroundings and actually you could walk down the beach to the ferry, if light luggage. Will come back to Bald Head!

Amazing Spring Break

We had a blast at Doc House - best views on the island, plenty of space and the direct access to the Cape Fear River beach was a bonus for quick trips to the water! Can’t wait to go back!

Bald Head Island paradise

First trip to Bald Head Island but not our last! We loved it and the property made it easy to come and go from the beach and everything the island has to offer. Perfect fit for our family of 5 since we love oceanfront but don’t need larger house.

Beautiful location

Such a cute house with a lovely deck and upstairs great room and amazing location right off the dunes. The pictures really don't do justice.

Perfect Time Away

House was in the perfect location, within walking distance to marina and South Beach. Calm water was perfect for the kids. Would definitely rent the same place again.

North Carolina Retreat

The Doc House was perfect for our spring vacation and we enjoyed the incredible views from the house and upper deck, the tastefully decorated, furnished, and equipped house, and the short private walk from the house to the beach.
