One bedroom is on the main floor with access for those who don't want to walk upstairs. With 4 bathrooms equipped with a bathtub and shower, guests will feel right at home. Enjoy amenities like heating, WiFi, and a washing machine and dryer during your stay. The entire house has been decorated for comfort and convenience, with a cook's kitchen, front porch and back deck. The gardens are spectacular and provide peace and privacy. I recommend this property. The owner was responsive to my many questions right from the start. Check in was uncomplicated. The location is great. We walked downtown several times a day. It is an easy drive to South Beach for morning walks. The grocery store, restaurants, and anything else you need are all convenient.The setting is lovely. So close to the action, but quiet and secluded. The property is well maintained with a peaceful yard and even a screened in porch.It was just the two of us, and we did not take advantage of all the amenities. My son did make a meal in the kitchen and easily found everything he needed. There was even a portable crib that we set up so that my 10 month old grandson could nap when he arrived to the island.The decor is a charming Vineyard style. The bedrooms and baths are updated. I work from home and was able to connect to the internet without any problems.We arrived in the middle of one of this summer's heat waves. I will note that there is no air conditioning, although the bedrooms do have ceiling fans. There is a breeze in the evening. I personally love a Vineyard heat wave, (It's the only time I get in the water!) but not everyone enjoys sleeping without a/c. There was a rain storm on Thursday that broke the heat and it was very pleasant for the rest of the stay.Hopefully I will be fortunate enough to return to Martha's Vineyard in the future and would enjoy staying here again.

Great Vineyard Escape

I would Highly recommend this property. The owner was very responsive, the location was great (easily walkable to downtown Edgartown), while also being private. The layout was perfect for a large family like ours who really was looking for the vineyard type experience. Plenty of bedrooms, and an outside shower. We used the grill on a couple occasions and that was nice, the kitchen was well appointed. We had plenty of space for both adults and small children to relax and play. Plenty of parking for our families 3 cars, plus a beautiful screened in porch. The ensuite bathrooms upstairs were nice and updated, and the porch/patio space was great. Check in was easy, the host responded to all questions promptly, and you were near all sorts of fun stuff, like Bad Martha's, downtown Edgardtown, Fish & tackle shop, Grocery store, many restaurants, all within walking distance. Close to the chappy ferry so you can zip over for a quick trip if you'd like too. Again, I'd highly recommend.

I sailed the Long Island, Vineyard and Nantucket Sounds for 10 years. I love the vineyard and now enjoy its magic. My home is my sanctuary and the love I've put into it shows through in my decor and gardens. All of my renters love the place, the privacy and its convenient location to town and all of the wonders of the island.
My front porch is for morning coffee. My back deck has a large table and chaises lounge for relaxing with a full view of my legendary perrenial garden.
I have beach chairs, toys and bicycles. All for the enjoyment that you want.
I love to cook so I have my kitchen is fully equipped. And it's the center and heart of the house.

My home was built by a blacksmith
in 1900. He was featured in National Geographic in the 1960s because he made fishing and farming tools and held a patent for a clam rake. The house is on a hill, an unusual geographic feature in this otherwise flat area. When the air and water temperature differential changes in the afternoon, wind is created. The wind then sweeps through the house assuring a delightful breeze throughout the day and night. I call it the "spirit" of the house.
The house is also very private but extremely convenient for a walk to town, get on your bike and travel to State Beach or South Beach or just for a lovely ride around.

My property is unique because it has both the charm of it's 1900 origin and the fully renovated beauty of its contemporary decoration. The house appears small from the exterior and everyone is completely surprised at how very large it is. The open floor plan includes a front porch, family room, kitchen/breakfast area and dining room all connected to encourage open gatherings for many people. Every one of the five bedrooms are decorated with fresh, bright and colorful accents. Every one of the four full bathrooms are new, clean and inviting. And of course, the large outdoor shower/dressing room is a fan favorite.
