The stay was great! The pool was clean. Beach right near by. Not a lot of shops in walking distance. Two of the rooms are in a loft area so if you’re looking for privacy for all three rooms, really only one has it. Other than that was fantastic!!

The grounds at Kihei Sands are absolutely beautiful, and the condo itself was perfect for our family. We really enjoyed the property, location, and overall feel of the condo.That said, there were a few things that were disappointing, especially considering the amount we spent on our stay. For a group of six people, supplies felt limited. A few additional basic supplies and linens would have made a big difference and made the stay feel more comfortable and accommodating.Overall, Kihei Sands is a beautiful property and the condo itself was wonderful. With a little more attention to the basic amenities provided for larger groups, the experience could easily have been exceptional.

Kihei Sands really does have beautiful grounds, and it sounds like the condo suited your family well overall. Had we known a group of six would need extra supplies and linens, we would have happily sent more your way ahead of time, that is exactly the kind of thing we would love the chance to fix. Can’t say enough good things! Location is amazing, beach is beautiful, chairs, umbrellas, cooler, and beach towels provided, wonderful stay. Everyone was great. Will stay here next time we are in Maui.

Kehei is a good central location to base from. Unit is described well. Well equipped kitchen. Very clean. Members of our group enjoyed their morning runs on the beach. Others preferred walking down the beach to get to the bakery or shaved ice.

Great stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay. Given that it was our first time to Maui it was a nice central location and we loved that it was close to the harbor. I was a little surprised that it was the furthest condo back from the beach, From my research I thought it was closer, but I apparently should have done better research. I would have just a couple suggestions, a griddle would be great and maybe more tupperware, washcloths would have been nice downstairs but that could be because the cleaning person was there after 3 and was rushed. Overall it was a really nice experience. A griddle isn't going to break it, I just bought 5 pounds of pancake mix at Costco and couldn't use it. A small family who wants to explore the island, this is perfect! Thank you for your hospitality. Oh, the TV in the master bedroom did not work, not sure about the upstairs TV.

We came to Kihei Sands with high hopes as everything looked gorgeous on the photos and the location was great. Some things were great: comfortable beds, a full kitchen, a sweet location. However, upon arrival we learned that the sauna and hot tub, which were advertised in the listing and a main reason we choose this unit, were non-existent. When I called the office to inquire, I was told that no such advertisement existed. (I shared a screenshot of the VRBO headline and it has since been removed). We received a nominal reimbursement for this error with no apology or explanation. Next, on our second day during major heat wave, the main air conditioner began leaking and left a mildew smell before it finally gave up and stopped working. Sunny Maui Vacations tried their best to repair and thankfully eventually fixed it— after several unannounced visits and many phone calls. Not the way you want to spend your vacation. Sunny Maui told my husband they would be giving us a significant discount for this hassle, but as soon as we checked out, they stopped responding to our emails. This was very disappointing. Add to this a hazardous buckling in the middle of the upstairs floor and safes that don’t work, plus flood lights that turn on and off right outside the unit all night. I’m sorry to say that we cannot recommend this place and will not be back.

Condo on Sugar Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the condo community was great due to the proximity of the beach.The condo was older than it appeared in photos and had an "old" smell. The property was clean and the property management company responded quickly when we had a broken umbrella that needed to be replaced.

The resort is nice and small and other guests were really friendly. The property management was excellent- Geo and the other gentleman who took care of the property were so friendly and extremely hardworking. We were there during the Kona Low storm and they worked tirelessly to prep the property including putting up the flood gates and clean up after the storm so that the guests could leave. When we requested items they were brought right away which was great.It would have been nice to have extras of some of those things so we didn’t have to keep asking for them (for eg. 3 kitchen garbage bags for 10 days and 6 ppl) Extra towels for that long as well would have been appreciated as you have to pay to do laundry. Unit is showing quite a bit of wear in some areas like the flooring.Unit worked well for our group but if you want any privacy or a quieter area for little kids in the two upstairs rooms, this may not be the place for you as both rooms are completely open. It was nice to have air conditioning and communal BBQs. Being right on the beach was perfect. Unfortunately the storm trashed the pool area but I’m sure they will work hard to get everything fixed and cleaned. Unit also had a cooler, beach chairs and umbrella which was appreciated, and the resort had boogie boards to use. Coffee on the patio in the morning was a nice touch!We really liked the location.
