The Nueces River Retreat - Gathering House

Nestled in the heart of Barksdale, this delightful house is a brilliant choice for guests seeking a cozy retreat. With 2 bedrooms has a queen bed and a twin bunk bed, and two bathrooms. This recently remodeled property offers all the comforts of home. Enjoy the convenience of WiFi, heating, and AC during your stay. Features a coffee bar and provides a great place to gather and visit if you have multiple rooms or are hosting a family event. The 2 bathrooms with showers provide added convenience for guests. There is lots of room to spread out and enjoy each other!
We also offer something unique - Barksdale Coffee Company right onsite! They have great breakfast and lunch options, and some of the best coffee around, of course! If you are in the area and need a place to stay, I hope you feel welcomed here.

Starting in 2025, we will offer unique retreat events throughout the year, and will be adding on to how we have used our property in the past. Guests are still able to book individual rooms by reservation request. We are now offering to serve as a retreat venue for small groups of up to 20 people. We have 4 available rooms and the newly renovated Gathering House. We are excited to utilize this space as a community gathering place to enjoy meals together and connect with others. It can be rented along with the individual retreat rooms (or separately) for:

* church and small group retreats
* wellness/therapeutic retreats
* corporate & business retreats
* counseling retreats (ex. family therapy, mental health training)
* leadership, team building, and planning retreats
* workshops and small conferences
* wedding parties & wedding showers
* baby showers

Our retreat services will range from all-inclusive, to just providing accommodations, depending on what your group wants and needs. When you call or submit a request, we will reach out for more information and can provide a list of room combination options, as well as a full menus that we offer.
