Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and thank you for choosing to stay with us. We're sorry to hear that the property did not meet your expectations.
We would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Our home is located in Nassau County (the safest county in the USA) on Long Island, which offers a very different residential setting from a typical New York City basement apartment. The listing accurately reflects the property through its photos, amenities, and description.
Our check-in instructions, including details about the private rear entrance and staircase, are sent three days before arrival. We also encourage guests to ask any questions before booking or traveling. Had we been made aware of your foot condition, we would have gladly provided additional details about the stairs so you could determine whether the property was suitable for your needs. Other guests have communicated mobility concerns in advance, allowing us to guide them appropriately.
Regarding the amenities, the listing photos clearly show that the bedrooms do not contain televisions and that the television is located in the main living area. Additional clean towels were also available in the bathroom cabinet throughout your stay. We understand that every guest has different preferences regarding towels, and if additional towels had been needed, all you had to do was ask - we would have been more than happy to provide them.
Street parking is available throughout the surrounding residential neighborhood and is considerably more accessible and safe than parking in New York City's five boroughs. Our listing also clearly states that the driveway is not available for guest parking, allowing guests to make an informed decision before booking. Parking has never been advertised as assigned, reserved, or guaranteed directly in front of the property.
The unit also has its own separate entrance, providing guests with independent access and privacy. Our quiet hours are standard courtesy guidelines intended to preserve a comfortable environment for both guests and nearby residents in a quiet residential neighborhood.
We strive to provide a welcoming, guest-first experience, which is why we offer a flexible cancellation policy, allowing guests to reconsider their reservation if they feel the property may not be the right fit before their stay. Throughout every reservation, we prioritize our guests' comfort and encourage open communication. If a concern arises during a stay, we are always happy to help and do everything we reasonably can to resolve it promptly so our guests have the best possible experience.
While we recognize that every traveler has different expectations, we were surprised by the suggestion that the property was misleading or exploitative, particularly given our consistent history of outstanding guest reviews highlighting the cleanliness, comfort, privacy, communication, convenient location, and overall experience. We believe that guests should carefully review the listing details, photos, amenities, and house rules before booking and communicate any accessibility needs or specific requirements in advance so we can help determine whether the property is the right fit.
We also chose not to raise concerns regarding two towels that were permanently damaged by makeup or tanning products during the stay, as we understand that accidental damage can occasionally occur and believe that extending grace is part of being a good host.
We take great pride in the time, care, and honest effort invested in creating and maintaining a modern, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and welcoming space. We remain committed to providing every guest with an accurate listing, transparent communication, and responsive hospitality. We sincerely wish you the very best in your future travels and hope you find accommodations that better align with your personal preferences and expectations.
