Wonderful home just steps from the beach. The hosts were very responsive to any inquiries before and during our stay. This home was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Very well appointed with linens and a well stocked kitchen. Highly recommend!

The house is spacious, clean and well stocked with kitchen tools, pots, silverware, dishes and glasses. It is located close to the beach access and has a fabulous view of the marsh from the back porch. There is an ocean view from the kitchen and front porch. Our host has thought of everything and is very responsive, all questions were quickly answered. They have made some nice updates since our last stay. We really enjoyed our second stay at Shell Spell and hope to visit again!

The house was very clean. The views from the back of the marsh plus the views of the ocean from the deck make this a unique property. It was a quick walk to the beach - the beach access is just a block away. We had 9 people in the house and we did not feel crowded.

Great place

We just got home from a week at this property. It was in the perfect location near the beach but far enough from the bridge that you didn’t have to worry about traffic blocking the driveway. Lots of deck space and room inside. We had a great time! Plenty of sitting room inside and plenty to do.

We enjoyed the house. The location is perfect with just a short walk to the ocean. If you’d like a great meal with a beautiful view, the Inlet View Bar and Grill in Shallotte will not disappoint! Go between 4 and 5 p.m. or there will be a long wait.
Driving around Ocean Isle Beach.
View from the mini golf place in town while they had a concert in the park.
Best homemade ice cream is at the Calabash Creamery in Calabash.
View while sitting on the deck of the house. Great place to have morning coffee.

Perfect place!

We arrived on Thursday night to a very clean place. The house was perfect. They really thought of everything you might need on vacation. They even had nice throws for cuddling on the sofa. We will definitely be staying here again! It may just be our go to place for the island. The host was very communicative during the whole process especially considering I rented it on short notice just 5 days before check in!! I highly recommend this house!! Thank you to the Foxes’ for a wonderful vacation rental!

We had an excellent vacation at Shell Spell, it felt like home away from home….only better. The owners were excellent to work with and very responsive. Check-in and checkout was easy. There’s nothing worse than a long list of things you have to do at the end of your vacation and Shell Spell did not do that - the items requested to be done were short and sweet! The interior of the house is very inviting & relaxing with the giant wraparound sofa and an extra upstairs area with a nice pullout sofa and another TV upstairs. Each room has it’s own bathroom, which is a huge plus! All of the beds were very comfortable. I have slept on some uncomfortable beds and thankfully, these were great. The best thing in my opinion about this house is the fact that the owners are so accommodating with the amenities. They have provided everything that you will need. The kitchen is fully stocked, they have spices, salt, pepper, sugar, etc.. They have a coffee bar with coffee for their visitors. They provide the linens and the towels, nice towels too! All of these things make it so easy to go there and just start vacationing. The house is a short distance from the public access to the beach and it has a gorgeous view of the marsh on the back deck. Oh, and every room has its own deck. This was a wonderful stay for us and I highly recommend Shell Spell to anyone who is looking for a wonderful, easy beach, vacation! We hope to be back next year!
