Explore and enjoy what lake Santeetlah has to offer & take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Nestled in the trees with serene lake views, just minutes from lake access. The location provides exceptional recreational opportunities. There are over 250 miles of hiking trails in the Cheoah District of the Nantahala National Forest. Hike within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, nearby Appalachian Trail and among the ancient trees of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.
This part of North Carolina is famous for its scenic mountain drives that include the Cherohala Skyway and Highway 129 Tail of the Dragon.
The lake has a variety of fish including small mouth bass, large mouth bass, walleye, crappie, bream, and lake trout. Santeetlah Marina is the only full-service marina on a lake that has 76 miles of forested shoreline. The surrounding mountains dip right down to the waterline, Approximately a mile from the town is Cheoah Point Recreation Area, which has developed swimming, camping, and picnic facilities as well as a public boat ramp.
Parking: Paved road all the way to the cabin, with no issues even in winter. Loads of flat parking at the cabin for several cars and we can accommodate trailers. please ask us about any oversized parking prior to booking.
