I'll start with the positives. The location is great, the scenery is beautiful, and the porches are amazing. The hot tub was a nice bonus, and the home was well-stocked with cooking supplies, towels, and linens. The host was always quick to respond, although the responses weren't always helpful in resolving issues. If you're looking for a rustic getaway, this property may be a good fit. However, I would not recommend it for families with young children or elderly guests. The detached bedroom had a strong mildew odor and was unusable during our stay. The upstairs loft steps present a significant fall risk for small children, and the refrigerator is located in the bathroom, which was unexpected.Privacy is limited, and the home remained above 80 during the day, making it uncomfortable. The listing photos show the garage doors open, but guests are instructed to keep them closed. We also experienced a plumbing issue where the sink repeatedly backed up whenever the washing machine was running.Overall, I believe this property is best suited for two adults, or possibly a family with older children seeking a rustic experience. The listing should more accurately reflect the property's layout and limitations so guests know what to expect. Because the detached bedroom was unusable and the home remained over 80 daily, our overall experience was significantly diminished and we left our trip early.
