Hi "M" . . .Thanks for the review (I think). Since you did not call or contact us during your stay, I guess this response is intended for those considering Falconhurst and visit reviews here: 1- In general, VRBO owners WANT you to be happy so, if you find you are not, give them a chance to help. (email/text/phone). Airing issues here is kind of complaining with no chance to provide a solution. 2-Falconhurst IS on a ridge - this is noted (even highlighted) in the description and pictures. Its not the highest on the ridge nor is it the lowest. The step count is not accurate and an exaggeration but, yes, it is not a place for someone who has issues with steps; 3-Falconhurst is in the Michigan woods. Full disclosure for those who may not be aware, deer ticks are a "thing" in Michigan. We have Orkin spray once a month and anyone considering a woodsy Michigan place should require this. I only got billed once - not sure why they would come twice in your week but I will find out. OK - safe travels.

Thanks Amanda - it truly brings me joy to picture kids climbing those dunes (and running pell-mell down no doubt!) . So very pleased. I'll ping you when we open up next year as we are planning to re-do the shower room and the WC this fall . .

Well . .you made me blush! Summer is a special time at Hamlin Lake and we hope you return soon.

Well, the bathroom IS small and spartan to be sure . . .but its a lake cottage in the woods and the john is typically not a place to spend much time - and the price is on the lower half. That said, "mold" is strong language and caustic in its own right. We made a special trip and interrupted current guests to check (would have been kind to actually call our cust sat manager on this) . . .anyway, no mold. I have secured a contractor for the end of the season . .new pics this winter. For anyone reading this, if a VRBO someone provides a phone number for customer sat and you don't use it, well then using a word like "mold" is less than fair and kind of malicious. Well we had a massive fail on communication-but it does take two. Have a good summer.

I guess we have been in denial on the bathroom. Its is "original" - which is probably not a good thing.. Rehab scheduled for fall, 2020.

As I said, it really brings me so much joy to see the young people enjoy the water as we did when I was growing up . . .thank you so very much
