Great property to stay when visiting Ludington. Beautiful country setting within minutes of the marina and downtown. I would not hesitate to book this rental again.

This was a nice little cabin only a short distance from everything we needed and wanted to do in Ludington. The space was plenty for what we needed and the property overall was very comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to spend some time in the area.

The house was in good working order, and the kitchen was well supplied. We enjoyed the grounds and fire pit, and the game room in the garage was a huge hit with our kids. Our only issues were that the grill did not work and the exterior of the house was covered in cobwebs and debris.

What a great property! Plenty of room for friends and family to enjoy Pure Michigan together! We used all three large tables for amazing meals. The house was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Nice seating areas and comfy cushions! Edison lights on the patio were great for evening time. Plenty of towels and hot water in both showers!

Exactly what we needed

Our group of four stayed here for our annual week-long fishing trip and the place fit our needs perfectly. It is fairly close to some of our favorite fishing spots yet only minutes from shopping, gas, etc. It was clean and well organized. Communication with the host/owner was great and finding out that he is also a fisherman was a bonus. Recommended!

Weekend getaway

Our family and friends enjoyed a long weekend. The house and location were great. It was close to downtown Ludington and Ludington State Park. The house was better than the picture and description showed online. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a place that makes you feel like you are at home.

Nice place

Pros: close to beach, quiet, clean, wild turkeys in backyard, easy to find, nice open kitchen, property management was responsive Cons: listing said access to private beach but no instructions how to get to it, well water stinks like sulfur, toilet flushes slow, pricing was higher once all fees added, listing said one thing on vrbo while instructions said something else e.g. check in and out times

Paul, we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall! We strive to build our listings in the most detailed light, and we don't advertise this property as having access to a private beach. However, we're sorry if that caught you off guard. The homeowner plans to install a new toilet and change the water filter which should clear up the sulfur smell from the well water. We apologize for the confusion regarding the check-in/check-out time, and we've made the changes so that the listing and our guest communications reflect the same information. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your review, and we hope to travel with you again soon! Best, the Evolve Team

Quaint and Comfortable

We love Ludington. This is the first time we rented accommodations vs. using a campground or hotel. The home is a couple of miles out of the city proper. It is on a busy street with no sidewalks, but is situated on a big lot, so kids or pets have room to play away from the street. It quiets down overnight. The outside deck is nice. It’s a compact, older, smaller home, and the owners have done a good job keeping it clean and updated with quality materials. We felt like it was someone’s Summer home vs. a rental home.

This was our second year renting this property, and we have already rented it for next year. The location is wonderful, halfway between downtown/Stearns Beach and the State Park. It is a well-traveled road, but there is lots of space outside and we didn't have any problem with road noise keeping us awake. The cottage is roomy and well stocked. I noticed a few things that needed to be taken care of at some point. I texted Hans and he immediately answered and said he appreciated letting him know and that he would take care of them. Our grandchildren enjoyed the new game. Probably the best recommendation I can give is when I asked our 7 year old granddaughter if we should rent the cottage again for next year. She looked at me as if I had asked the silliest question in the world and replied, "Well yes, Grandma, why wouldn't we?".Highly recommend

We had a key question for the game room. Called the host. He answered right away and was courteous and helpful. The fire pit was a great hangout and everything worked in the house. Water pressure could have been better, but 4 grown men showered daily with no issues.

Thanks so much, Daniel! We’re really glad you and your group enjoyed the game room and fire pit, and we appreciate the kind words. After your stay, we discovered a leak in the shower plumbing that was affecting the water pressure, and it has since been repaired. Thanks again for staying with us — we’d be happy to have you back anytime!

Perfect location! Close the water. House was immaculate and cozy. Perfect for families. Due to weather, we were unable to utilize the fire pit, however we enjoyed staying in and playing games. Hans & Kate truly have a beautiful home and ensure that you have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you, for providing my family with a wonderful home for my family to create many memories.

Loved the cottage but not on a main road

The cottage was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. The only issue is that the road is very busy being on a main road. The kids were not able to ride their bikes. Everything else was perfect.

Great cottage with a PERFECT location!

I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is!! It's clean, well maintained, and it's obvious that the owners have put a lot of work into making this a cozy & welcoming place. My family has stayed here a couple times and it keeps getting better! An outside shower has been added and the deck is the perfect shady, post-beach hang out. Speaking of the beach, the location is outstanding! It's a 3 minute drive to Ludington State Park which has several pull-out areas to access the beach. It's an easy 10 minute drive into Ludington itself which has all kids of cute shops and great restaurants. Overall, can't wait to come back!

No communication/horrible beds

I needed to speak with the property manager and emailed numerous times along with calling and no response. Every single bed in the house had to have been at least 20 years old and had no support. The description in the listing said the was a/c and when we arrived there was the tiniest window unit in the kitchen to cool the entire house which was 3 bedrooms so we roasted the entire time unless standing in the kitchen. Definitely very disappointed in this location. The plus is that it was very close to the ludington state park and sand dunes which were very quiet and peaceful

Hi Tylee, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and we wanted to share the following: - The guest contact did not receive any communication from your group, but they would have been happy to help with any issues during your stay. - The guest room's full bed has been updated with a new queen bed, and the master bedroom has a new mattress. - The owners have recently added A/C units for the 2021 season. During your stay, there was only a window unit, and the listing didn't advertise the A/C unit yet. We are confident this home will continue to host many happy travelers!

Adorable house 2 min from Lake MI!

Such a cute place!! Updated and clean. Spacious enough for our group of 6. Super cool shower outside to wash off the sand before coming in the house. Nice deck with lights and a big fire pit outback. Would totally recommend!! Only drawback is there is one window AC unit in the kitchen so the living room gets warm by the evening but we opened the windows at night to try to cool it off. Also it’s decorated SO cute! You can really tell someone worked hard on this! Only 5 min from Ludington state park. Loved it. Thank you!
