Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful experience. The rental was beautiful and clean. Nice set up. Light switches can be a bit challenging to figure out. Pool would be great for families with young kids but is not really designed for swimming. Short walk to the beach. Convenient parking. Furniture in the unit was very nice. Sleeper couch was excellent. Overall a wonderful experience.

Would definitely stay in Palmetto Dunes resort again. Only issue we had was the clothes dryer didn’t work properly and had to call maintenance for a quick fix.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The kitchen had lots of supplies to making cooking easy, One cupboard should be left to store cereal, snacks, etc. rather than leaving on the counter. Updated appliances and washer/dryerr. Place needs updated bedding - bedspread soiled, and rugs old and not cleaned. Place needs a good cleaning.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spent 3 nights here with my son. Good location close to the beach. Unit was a bit dated but nice and clean. Loved the East facing windows in the morning. Hot tub advertised as open year round was not open :(Key code we were given to open beach gate didn't work.Great golf courses and tennis courts. Rented bikes and rode the beach - definitely recommend that.Ate at Alex's and loved the food.Everyone at the resort VERY friendly and courtesy.Overall had a great time and would definitely come back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A very nice vacation rental and location to the beach was great. The unit had everything we needed. We did reach out to the management company twice (for TV not working and for the unit not having sufficient hot water). They only returned one call and did send maintenance for the hot water tank. However they did not fix the issue and instead we spaced out our showers for the remainder of our stay. That would be only down side to the visit.

Great Beach, Not So Great Place

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The beach was amazing and we loved every minute we got to spend on it. The rental left a lot to be desired. The master bed mattress is in desperate need of replacement. The couches were beyond awful, gross feeling, dirty looking, and sagged so much it was like sitting on the floor. We were not given any extra trash bags and from the look of the dumpster area no one else was either. I contacted the front desk for some and never even received a response. There is an entrance called Leamington right by where we stayed but we were not permitted to use it. We got stuck in a horrible thunder and lightning storm during a bike ride with our children and instead of allowing us through we were made to ride 1.5 miles all away around the resort to get back to our rental. The paths to the beach were covered in ants. Not just the sand area, but the actual paths. While we loved Hilton Head, we were not impressed with Palmetto Dunes and do no recommend staying here.

There was no place to store food in the kitchen cabinets and too many useless kitchen items occupying that space that could be used for food storage. The couches could stand to be replaced. Not enough outlets accessible at the bedside. I also, you could not lower shade for privacy in kitchen.

Our rental was in Barrington Park. It was clean but a little dated. I think the whole place could use an update. We did not use the outside balcony because it was messy outside. The whole apartment could use a facelift.

Overall good experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Booking and after hours check-in was very smooth. The rental itself was okay but could be better. There are some missing pieces of the blind slats in the master bathroom, so we had to shower in the other bathroom due to no privacy. This really needs to be replaced. The master bathroom floor was also sticky and the master tub had a worn/dirty floor. The mattress on the master bed was also very cheap quality and uncomfortable. Lastly, we could not get the sliding door to actually lock. Thankfully this was not a ground floor unit but still not ideal. Otherwise the rental was nice but has some much needed maintenance. Also, the cookware was very haphazard assortment. Palmetto dunes itself was a wonderful place to stay. We will likely just pick a different unit if we return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I felt relaxed and “at home” the minute I walked into this condo. The two bedrooms/two baths are separated nicely so there was ample space to put all our luggage in one room and keep the rest of the condo free of any suitcases. The kitchen was equipped with everything one could possibly use-except it lacked a cheese grater and steamer basket for veggies (VERY minor points in the overall assessment of this beautiful condo.) We enjoyed meals out on the balcony while enjoying the view of the little lagoon and fountain below. The public access to the ocean was a very short bike/car ride away. The condo had several beach chairs available which saved on the pricy rental of chairs and sun umbrellas offered through Palmetto Dunes. The only negative comment would be the dining room shade needed some work. Upon trying to raise the blind, it would become lopsided. In addition one of the dining room chair’s arms was broken and hanging down. We called maintenance immediately. They came and took the chair, called a couple of days later to ask if they could return the repaired chair but then never showed up for the remainder of our stay. So I gave the condo 4 stars for the Condition of the Property. Other than that we loved the place and even attempted to rent it again in March, 2022 but it was already booked.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental is ok. It is in need of some updates/repairs. Some furniture is broken. The ice maker is broken. The sofas need replaced. The location is great, a short walk to a very nice, quiet beach. With a little TLC, this could be a great rental. I would not stay in this unit again, unless it were updated.

Very nice resort for families

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort and our condo was very nice and clean. I would highly recommend. I would recommend the weekly bike rental also. It’s a good price and well worth it. The resort is more for people with young kids, as the quite time starts at 10pm and there isn’t much to do at night. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area but if you go during spring break plan for at least an hour wait to get seated.
