Trina and I have been married for more than 2 decades. Spending time with family and friends is our favorite pastime and traveling is a close second. We are detail oriented, while also being laid back and genuine. We appreciate nature and find it peaceful and inspiring. Often this leads us to vacation rentals in rural settings. During our travels we made note of the things that mattered most such as comfort, safety, and cleanliness, with location following closely behind. The N.C. Mountains has a special place in our hearts, it’s where we spent our honeymoon.
When we found this cabin, we knew we had found something uniquely special. It has it all… location, comfort, views, and unforgettable sunsets! Light My Fire is the perfect place to come get away from it all and enjoy all the N.C. Mountains has to offer.
This cabin is located in the heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains bordering the Pisgah National Forest and near Linville Gorge! Light My Fire has year-round unobstructed views (including Mt. Mitchell) and plenty of places to enjoy nature. The property has cherries, blueberries, blackberries and grapes to enjoy when in season as well as a variety of native trees and flowers, some of which are only found in the Linville Gorge area.
This A-Frame charmer is located on 1-1/2 acres inside of a gated community with all paved roads. There are two waterfalls inside the neighborhood. You will pass one of them on your way in so be on the lookout!
This cabin offers multiple unique deck areas. The covered porch offers gorgeous, long range, unobstructed views of the mountains and valley. It’s the perfect place to take in the amazing sunsets. Enjoy your evening grilling your favorite meal, sipping beverages by the chiminea, or sitting around the fire table making memories. There is also a large 7-person Hot Tub that faces the west to give you yet another way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
There is a wood burning fire pit in the side yard to roast marshmallows or share a toast with your friends. The memories you will make are sure to warm your heart for years to come.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy your time inside too! You can soak your cares away in a 1942 fully restored vintage clawfoot tub. There are also several board games available, books to read and movies to watch. You can bring your own from home as well or bring your streaming service passwords as this cabin has Starlink high speed internet.
***There is a wood burning Buck stove located indoors. THIS IS ORIGINAL TO THE HOUSE BUT IS NOT OPERATIONAL. GUESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THIS.***
This area provides unique opportunities for many different activities, there is truly something for everyone. You can take a tour of Linville Caverns, hike the beautiful Linville Gorge, play a round of disc golf, sip wine at Linville Falls Winery, or hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway to take a ride full of all the amazing scenery the mountains have to offer. If you prefer, you can also kick back and just enjoy the peace and quiet these mountains bring right from the cabin.

* 2 Large tables for outdoor dining- one on the covered porch and one on the open deck
* Gas Fire Table, Gas Chiminea, and Gas Grill- a full propane tank will be provided for each. If you would like to use these features for longer, you may exchange the propane tank at Lowe’s at your expense (20 minutes from the cabin)
* 2 HD Smart TVs- 1 in the Living Room with Blu Ray player and 1 in Master Bedroom

* 7 Person Hot Tub House Rules: 1. Check In Time is after 4:00 PM
2. Check Out Time is 10:30 AM. (No late check out- fees applied)
3. Must be 30 years old or older to book this rental.
4. For your security, we have installed an outside cameras that faces the parking areas only. Guests may not disconnect or otherwise obscure any permissible and properly-disclosed security devices.
In addition, attempting to access any areas clearly designated as owners closet, locked, or containing personal or confidential information are off limits to guests.
5. NO other persons except the 6 persons designated on the reservation are to be on the property at any time for any reason. No other persons can "stop by". No camping is allowed.
6. No parties, weddings or events are allowed.
7. Tampering with the WiFi Router or any smart devices is strictly prohibited. (This includes unplugging the router or the use of RF jamming devices) Guests are not allowed to change any settings on the WiFi router, including the password, network name, or any other configuration options, as this could disrupt internet access for other guests and potentially pose security risks to the host's network; essentially prohibiting any form of "tampering" with the router. Tampering attempts or violations may result in a mandatory maintenance technician visit which will result in a $250 charge and/or immediate eviction without refund. If you have any issues with the WiFi please contact your host.

9. No smoking ($500-$1000 cleaning charge)
10. Furniture should not be moved from room to room.
11. Guests should observe neighborhood quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Please be courteous of the neighbors.
12. Bears are known to frequent the area. Any garbage must be disposed of in plastic bags that have been closed and tied off and then placed in the trash bin under covered parking area.
13. Please do not throw any paper or other items in the gas logs. Do not remove any screens and keep children away.
14. The property is in a rural area and does not have municipal water and sewer services and uses a well and septic system. Please DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No "feminine products" or "flushable cleansing cloths" should be flushed in any toilet. No food to be put down the garbage disposal.
15. The water level in the hot tub must be maintained to the bottom of the headrest. (The hose is right by the hot tub on the side of home if more water is needed.) The rules for use of the Hot Tub are posted by the Hot Tub and are to be followed at all times. No food or glass are to be in or near the Hot Tub. Children MUST be supervised. DO NOT SIT OR LAY on top of the Hot Tub Cover.
16. The Homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest party. The Homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that the guest party are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
17. No more than 4 vehicles are recommended. Parking is not allowed on the neighborhood roadways.
18. There is a wood fire pit area in the side yard. Fires should be kept at a reasonable and manageable level and always be under adult supervision. No fires are allowed if fire danger in area is at red level. The fire danger sign should be referenced at the North Cove Fire Dept on Hwy 221.
19. FIREWORKS of any size nor the discharge of firearms are permitted.
20. Neighborhood waterfalls are on private and should be viewed from the road way only.
21. Guest are not allowed to operate ATV's on neighborhood roadways.
22. There are no public hiking trails in the neighborhood.
23. There are NO refunds given if you are not able to access the property due to inclement weather. Snow chains or 4 wheel drive maybe be needed to access property in winter months.
24. The indoor wood burning Buck stove is original to the home but is not operational. For guest safety, do not attempt to use.
24. 100% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 davs before arrival date.
25. The maximum length is 28 days (stays longer than 14 days will require additional cleaning/Maintenance fees)
