Had a great time. Place was very clean and comfortable. My boys loved that you could literally walk outside the door and just a few steps to the pool or places to fish. Will definitely stay again!

This was our first trip to the Gulf of America, based on a recommendation from a work colleague and he wasn't wrong about the area. Had a couple of misses on dining but the accommodations with Padre Escapes was perfect. It fit our budget and access to the beaches were less than 5 minutes (driving) and were easy access. Bought the beach pass at a local Stripes and made ourselves at home at both Whitecap and JP Luby beaches. Did a bit of fishing from the dock at the condo and my son did well for his first real attempt at fishing (we used shrimp and 2/0 hooks). Small fish but that didn't matter. The condo was clean, cool and comfortable. Easy check in and check out. Neighbors were not loud and the ones we encountered were friendly. More than happy to stay there again but might try and find something more on the beach now that we are familiar with the area and decided we would definitely make a return trip!

We went in Sept. after labor day and had a great stay. The place was clean, modern, had everything we needed. Our teen sons love to fish so they really enjoyed being able to fish on the channels right outside the back door. They caught lots of trout (using live shrimp bait) and lots of ribbon fish. The beach is walkable but it's a quick drive to the free parking lot and Mustang Island had the nicest cleanest beaches out of all the beaches in the area. We recommend bringing your own groceries because the stores and restaurants around there are expensive. The pool was very nice and not busy. Our teenagers had fun using it. There were issues keeping the hot tub heated which our friend made some phone calls and we figured out how to fix it. The apartment itself was nice but the grounds could use some cleaning. There was trash, bird poop, and palm seeds all over the stairwells and around the area. Seems like that could be easily cleaned up with a broom. Also, since most guests will going to the beach, it would be nice if they had a broom in the apartment too, so that we could sweep up sand ourselves. Other than that, it was a very nice stay and we would definitely come again. Our friends stayed in another apartment in the same complex and that worked out great! We share meals on the deck by the pool.
