Family home on private dead end road five minute walk to Acadia National Park

Thank you so much for coming to stay. I am so glad you enjoyed your time, we are working to update the house more in the off season and would be happy to have you back next season should you be in the area again.

Thank you so much for choosing our home as your base for your stay on MDI. Your group was a great fit for our home. I appreciate your direct communication with me and helping me ensure your stay was the best it could be. It also helps us be sure those to come have what they need. The floor had a really rough season and is scheduled to be redone this winter. I will be sure to make more chairs available next season. Please come back anytime.

It was a pleasure to have you, thank you and your group for staying at our home, please feel free to come back anytime.

It was wonderful to host your group, thank you for coming and for your communication and your understanding (the shower is finally fixed!!) please come again anytime you are in Maine.

Thank you for the kind way you treated our home, and for the excellent feedback, it helps me greatly to improve the quality of the next visitor’s stay with us. Please come again should you be in the area in the future, I will be sure to have updated pots and pans and silverware ready for your arrival. Hilary

Thank you so much for your excellent communication and the kind way you treated our home. You were a pleasure to host and we would welcome you back anytime!

Thank you Lisa! You are correct the darn shower upstairs has been a pain, our plumbers finally came and fixed it last week. We have the floors scheduled to be fixed in the off season, replaced actually, as it turns out ‘life proof’ flooring has not been strong enough to hold up against the traffic of our guests this year. We did need pots and pans, I just had two full sets delivered to the guests Who came after you (I wish I had been made aware by you I would have sent some immediately, I am so sorry you went without what you needed) I will address the towel issue, we had enough for each guest to have two in mid September, I will restock the house. The hot water issue: our plumbers have been out five or six times and ‘fixed’ it, needless to say we will get to the bottom of it but again I am so sorry it impacted you poorly. Thank you for your kind review and the loving way you addressed your concerns.

Oh James we are so sorry you had such a terrible time with our home. Had we known we would have happily come over and amended the issues. Our home is a family one and not a rental turned business property. So it does have some quirks. We did leave a note alerting you to the hot water, if you use the sink while Someone Is showering it does impact the temperature and the pressure. Our plumber has it on their list! I did not know about the outlet, nor the cleanliness, that will be addressed immediately. We don’t use AC until July, but they are available prior to upon request. The guest after you reported the lock issue and I fixed it immediately. I am so glad you found enjoyment out and about on our beautiful island.

Thank you so much Beth! We did JUST replace the carpets prior to your arrival, and cleaned the carpets on the main floors, my apologies that the scent was too strong! We have since brought over a new coffee pot, I know the k-cup option is not always a favorite even when available, so there is a new coffee pot with craffe on site now. I have updated the check in instructions to auto send thank you very much for letting us know it wasn't working, I am sorry that impacted you and your group negatively. I ill also add privacy tint to the bathroom downstairs. We would love to have you back anytime, thank you for helping us make our place that much better for the next guests.

Lori, thank you so much for your honest opinion. For future stays please never be afraid to contact the home owner to let them know your issues. I myself would have made a point to address anything I was able. As an aside it is incredibly challenging on this island to get prompt electrical or plumbing assistance due to low numbers of contractors and high rental property/summer property demand. The shower has been fixed as of last week and the electrical concern remains on their schedule. The next time you bring 21 people instead of 12 (my father in law who lives next door confirmed) please alert your host. The next time you bring a pet with you without prior permission please expect to have your host keep your security deposit. We spent significant amount of time, double what is usual, cleaning up after the animal you had on site (photos to come). Additionally we made an exception for two extra people to come free of charge, noting to you prior to that the home is not designed for that many people. This is our HOME. We vacate in the summer to share with others and provide our kids with the experience of other places when not in school. Next time, rent a house turned business turned rental, NOT a FAMILY home.
