Our Shasta Airflyte trailer is replica of the 1941 Shasta 16SC, offering cozy glamping escape with a full-size bed, bathroom, and all essentials. Enjoy resort amenities like a clubhouse with arcade games, ping pong, a TV lounge, heated pool, and fire pit. Walk to nearby spots like Snakebite Roadhouse, La Caguama, and Old Town Yucca Valley’s shops and Frontier Café. Pioneertown is 10 minutes away with Pappy & Harriet’s, and Joshua Tree National Park is just 15 minutes for hiking and stargazing.

Nestled along Route 62, just 8 miles west of Joshua Tree, Desert Drifter RV Resort features cozy accommodations, including sleek Airstreams and thoughtfully designed RV spaces. Each site is equipped for comfort, with panoramic desert views and easy access to nearby attractions. Our Airstreams, reminiscent of retro classics like the Airflyte Shasta, provide a boutique camping experience, complete with stylish interiors, modern kitchenettes, and plush seating areas.

Explore nearby highlights like Joshua Tree National Park, the Spaghetti Western Snakebite Roadhouse, and local gems like the Frontier Café and Tiny Pony. Whether you’re here for stargazing, music festivals, or simply to escape into the desert’s tranquility, Desert Drifter RV Resort offers an unforgettable stay where nostalgia and adventure come together.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the 2016 Airflyte Shasta 16C, complete with a full-size bed, and private toilet room. You’ll also enjoy shared resort amenities, including the pool, clubhouse with arcade games and ping pong, fire pit, and picnic areas under tall pine trees. Two resort showers are available for use if needed. The property is walkable to local dining and attractions, with plenty of space to relax and soak in the desert charm.

Other things to note
• Pets are welcome! A dog bed is provided for your furry companion.
• The Airstream includes a private toilet; guests have access to one of the resort’s two shared showers.
• Wi-Fi is available for streaming and staying connected, but please note the desert may cause occasional slowdowns.
• Parking is free and conveniently located near your site.
• The resort’s quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests.

I reached out to the host the day before arrival to get the lock code. The code and details he provided, including parking information, turned out to be incorrect. There was no mention that we needed to use the code in the lockbox instead of the pin pad. When we arrived, we couldn’t get in and were standing outside in the rain, calling repeatedly until we finally received a call back with the correct code though still no instructions on how to open the lockbox.We were then sent a text with a blurry photo of the lockbox and told to go to the property manager’s trailer, along with a map. When we got there, there was no car in the designated space, and we felt uncomfortable knocking on someone’s trailer in the freezing rain. We ultimately had to look up a YouTube video to figure out how to open the lockbox ourselves.The whole experience was frustrating, and once we finally got inside, I noticed a pair of black underwear in the corner by the mirror that were definitely not ours, and we hadn’t even set our things down yet. This made me question whether the place had been properly cleaned. The trailer itself was fine otherwise, but the issues made the stay far less enjoyable than it should have been.
