THE SPACE
Thoughtfully renovated in 2025, Casa Rocosa is designed for simplicity, calm, and livability. Clean architectural lines and a neutral palette are softened by organic textures and curated midcentury furnishings, inviting you to slow down and savor the desert beauty.

- Living Room: Features two sofas that convert to twin daybeds, an armchair, and a Samsung Frame TV.
- Kitchen: A fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, island seating for three, along with a Nespresso and drip coffee maker.

We loved the location, so close to Joshua Tree National Park. The view of the sunrise from the patio was wonderful. We enjoyed the feeling of privacy and space at the house. The gravel road to the house was rutted, but an SVU will get you there. We would stay there again.

Excellent property that was clean, spacious with amazing views. The host was very responsive to a question on navigating the road to the property. Highly recommend especially if you are visiting Joshua Tree National Park as the entrance is very close.

We loved our stay but we found it difficult to keep the house warm & the heat lamp in main bathroom was not working. The light fixture in the hallway by the main bedroom was missing. There should have been better instructions on dealing with garbage & recycling & organics. The house was beautiful & the views were amazing.

I’m sorry to hear you had trouble with the heating and the bathroom heat lamp. The central heat has since been checked and is working properly, but I understand it can be tricky to adjust, so I’ll be adding clearer guidance for future guests. The hallway light fixture you mentioned had unfortunately broken just before your visit and has now been fully repaired. I also appreciate your note about the garbage, recycling, and organics—I'll be updating those instructions to make them much clearer. Quiet and beautiful

We came for quiet and star-gazing. The weather did not cooperate but that can’t be helped. Regardless, we had good quality family time in the desert hills. A truly beautiful place.

Our group had a lovely trip. Vera was so accommodating. The house and property is beautiful.

Always great to have visitors at Zen House and for them to get to enjoy some of the best parts about the house and the area! Zen House Update... The house is currently in escrow and is scheduled to change ownership end of March. I have managed Zen House for multiple owners, but I'm not sure if I will continue to manage it in the future. Thanks to all for staying at Zen House! It has been a pleasure having you all. Vera

Fantastic family getaway

We loved our stay at Zen House! The location is quiet and beautiful -- so many places to sit outdoors and enjoy the expansiveness and beauty of the desert. The kitchen is well stocked, bathrooms are lovely (including the outdoor shower) and everything we needed was available. Close to park entrance for hiking and town for food. Would stay here again in a minute!

Victoria and her family were wonderful guests. The house was left nice, and talking on the phone with her was a joy! She is welcome any time again!
