Do you want to be close to the waterfront in Old Town Manteo? Then, welcome aboard private yacht " STARRY BANNER ". This award winning vintage yacht was privately commissioned to Tiffany Yachts to cruise the Atlantic Coast. The Starry Banner is now available to our guests, for their accommodation, who would like a unique vacation experience. Join us on the waterfront, in the Historic Old Town Manteo Waterfront Marina. The Starry Banner was featured on the Manteo Christmas homes tour in 2014! Then, in 2015, the Starry Banner won " Best Power Boat - Owner Restored" award in the Manteo Wooden Boat Show. Why don't you be the judge ~ welcome aboard, and enjoy all that the wonderful town of Manteo and Roanoke Island has to offer right at your own dock!

Pros: The Starry Banner is a spacious older vessel with a lot of character. The location is amazing -- a slip in front of the Tranquil House Inn on Manteo's harbor, steps away from downtown shops and restaurants, and an easy walk to Roanoke Island Festival Park for shows. The Inn offers free breakfast, a wine and cheese reception each afternoon, and day passes to the Village Beach Club in Nags Head, which we highly recommend. The hotel staff are excellent -- communicative, helpful, and cheerful throughout.Cons: When we stayed there in June 2026, The Starry Banner had just returned from three months of refurbishment, and unfortunately there was still a very strong odor of varnish in the cabin. Everything we carried with us smells like varnish now. Quite a disappointment. Hopefully time and fresh air will take care of this problem. The other issue we encountered was in the master bathroom, where the toilet tips to one side. This happened on the first day, and afterward there was a sewage smell in there. We kept the door closed and started using the other bathroom, which doesn't have a shower, and had no light bulb in the fixture. We were glad that we brought flashlights, and that we were able to shower at the Village Beach Club. Overall: We will get a room at the Tranquil House Inn next time we're in Manteo. The Starry Banner is potentially a luxury accommodation too, but it feels a bit rustic right now.

Beautiful boat

My wife and I had never been to the Outer Banks before this trip. Staying on a boat was a great way to enjoy the area. Their boat is very clean and well located to enjoy much of what the area has to offer. Katherine and Dan were great hosts, recommending places to go and things to do. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent getaway

This was the most wonderful vacation we've had! The boat was a wonderful place to relax and is docked in an excellent location. Our hosts were wonderful and very helpful, providing extra information and great spots to stop. We're already planning our 2025 visit to the same exact spot!

Starry Banner vacation

Katherine and Dan were wonderful hosts of their yacht the Starry Banner. We were able to bring our dog and we all enjoyed our unique stay. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable,down to fresh flowers and special treats for our pooch.

The apartment was exactly as presented in the pictures and was nice and clean. Our host was very friendly providing helpful information both practical and of great places to see. The town was charming and the area amazing. We can definitely recommend this place.

Starry Banner is a classic 46 Ft Tiffany Motor Yacht, built in 1976, the interior mahogany has been beautifully maintained over the years. For those with a boater's mindset, it is a little like stepping back in time to see a lower station helm with the original wooden spoke helm wheel and the upper helm station just for cruising in nice weather and of course for docking.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

The upper bridge is our favorite place to hang out, especially around sunset. There is plenty of seating and fun to bring up some drinks and snacks and chat with the friendly dock neighbors or watch the kids jump off the bridge. We are pet friendly ($75 pet fee) so if you are bringing a dog or two let us know - they are welcome too!
