Beautiful private "SUPER CLEAN" apartment located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills called "Sunset Surf Shack". This is a private studio apartment attached to the back of our house that has a separate door & private access to the apartment through a private stair entry with a key code door lock.

You can walk directly across the street to the sound access gazebo where you can see the sunset & launch our kayaks. The bike path is directly in front of our home which takes you to the Wright Brothers Memorial and many local restaurants & venues. The beach is just across the street (.5 miles)with FREE parking at ALL beach accesses. Our local boat ramp is a few blocks away w/free parking & boat launch. Kill Devil Hills is located between all the amazing attractions in the Outerbanks. We are centrally located between 4 of the most amazing lighthouses on the Outerbanks. The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse,
Bodie Island Lighthouse, Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse all with in driving distances. You can also drive to Hatteras and take the Ocracoke Ferry for free for the day.

We have a separate A/C and heater unit for you to control the temperature.
We provide a freshly made queen size bed & wash our comforters after each guests leaves. We also have a queen size couch bed that has an extra mattress pad for comfort. Soft fluffy towels are provided & we wash our bath mats each check in as well.
A small cooler & ice packs are provided as well as beach towels. We provide 2 bikes. The beach is a half mile across the street.
Food Lion & Publix is right down the street behind our house plus many awesome restaurants within biking distance.
We have a 5* bathroom with a beautiful blue waterfall sink and a lovely large sized shower with beautiful glass doors. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner is provided.

Absolutely recommend the sunset surf shack for a little getaway in OBX. The hosts Amber and Brett have a lovely home and were great with communication and any recommendations that you may need help with during your stay. Local to the beach and with what they offer in allowing use of the bikes for the path or if you want to take a paddle out in the bay they are very kind to offer that. Highly recommend staying again if we get the chance. Thank you again Amber and Brett for having us with you guys this week!

This is our second time staying here for the Fourth of July weekend! We love this place due to the ease of stay. They think of everything you could possibly need for a beach vacation: beach chairs, beach towels, bikes, kayaks, plenty of shower towels, utensils etc. The location is perfect. We often walk across the street to watch the sunset and can bike pretty much anywhere in Kill’s Devils Hills. Would be staying here every year.

We thoroughly enjoyed this property and everything it had to offer. The communication from the owners was great and the check in and check out process was simple. It is located along a beautiful bike path and off the strip, although close to everything you need. We definitely recommend!

Space was exactly as expected. We have been visiting OBX for years now and decided to have a long weekend without the kids. This place was perfect for that. Being on the sound side is definitely the way to go. Sunsets are prettier and longer than sunrises. The property being right next to sound access and the bike path was amazing. All the shopping and dining that you would want all within a few mins drive. People don't consider this, but being on a road with a stop light to get across the highway is also a huge plus that many overlook. We could not recommend this place more and you should definitely give Amber and Brett's space a booking

The space was quiet and nice. It was located on the sound side, which i guess if you know the area, is across the peninsula from the beaches. There is water access across the street but that's more for kayaks. We were out and about, not really beach folks, so this was fine. The A/C Window unit kept up well. They supplied beach chairs, beach towels, cooler and cooler packs but no cook top or tea kettle. Overall, comfortable stay, very affordable for the area. Smaller maybe than I expected but worked for us.

Just to clarify for future guests, we don’t list a cooktop in our amenities, but we do offer a toaster oven, microwave, and a full-size refrigerator with freezer in the kitchenette.
