Amazing location. I loved walking around Carlsmith beach every morning! Close to many other fun family friendly beaches including a black sand beach!

This was a great location for our Hilo side activities and nearby snorkeling. We didn't have to drive anywhere else to snorkel. The building had some security and che king in and out were flawless. The host was quick to help me solve an issue with the TV remote. I appreciate how quickly we could make contact. Kitchen was nice but furniture was less comfortable for us.

Sweet little home with everything our family of 3 needed for a few nights. Used the kitchen for meals and the beds are comfy. We loved the pool, large and clean. And of course being next to Carlsmith Beach Park is very special. Friendly, mellow, quiet building. Hoping we can stay again!

These were excellent hosts! They clearly cared about making our stay amazing. The best thing about this place was easily the location next to Carlsmith Beach where we swam with sea turtles!The hosts communicated every step of the way. Check in and out was a piece cake, laundry was super convenient, the unit has been recently remodeled and everything was ready for us!

The place was spotless and check-in was quick and easy. Two issues to flag, though: the single bathroom has no lock, which felt awkward with multiple guests sharing it. And there’s no air conditioning, which made for some rough nights during our summer stay. Great location and clean space, but the host should update the listing to explicitly call out no AC.

Very clean and updated. The kitchen was very clean but a little small. AC would have been nice. The laundry was a little misrepresented due to the cost. The pool was amazing and the proximity to the park and all the pictures were very accurate. Beautiful place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay here while we were in Hilo. The condo was very clean nicely, decorated, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, and a beautiful view of the ocean and lush vegetation. The host was very welcoming and responsive and gave very clear instructions for getting in and out the unit. We will definitely stay here again my next trip to Hilo.

When we vacation we don’t spend much time in the places we rent. With that being said, our time spent in the condo was everything we needed. Location to the water was perfect, couldn’t be any closer. Communication with owners was fast and on point. Had one concern with parking, but was taken care of in a timely manner.

The instructions were clear on handing over and closing .Hosts were helpful and welcoming. Home was in good condition and presentable . We thank the host for making it a memorable trip for us at Hilo.

Great location with convenient ocean access, and easy parking near the elevator—definitely the highlights of the stay. However, cleanliness was an issue. The bed sheets were visibly dirty upon arrival, the toilet was also dirty, there was hair in the shower, and spiders in several ceiling corners.The host was responsive, replaced the sheets the next day, and issued a refund for the cleaning fee, which we appreciated. With better attention to cleaning, this would be a much stronger stay.

The location of the condo was nice - right at Carlsbad Beach. However, it is not a private beach as stated in the listing, but a public beach that was quite crowded. The condo was clean but it is quite dated. Many of the pots and pans were old and scratched, there was an oven pan that was so caked with previous residual from whatever was baked on it, it was unusable. One bedroom faces the ocean and you have the ocean sounds at night, but the second bedroom faces the street and it was so loud at night, my son had difficulty sleeping. The hosts were responsive - we had an issue with parking and they cleared it up quickly.

Pool was not heated. Sliding door screen wouldn’t stay on the track - it was missing a wheel. No grab bars for safety getting out of bathtub/shower. Never understood how to watch Xumo or FireTV. Aside from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hawaii

The location is convenient for public beaches. The lanai has a great view of the ocean and some jungle. Beds were comfortable. My kids really enjoyed having the pool.The main issue is the condo was filthy. The bathroom fan was caked in dust so the smoke detector went off when my kids took a shower unless we kept the door shut for a long time. The couch had food crumbs in between the cushions, the floors under the beds were filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. The window tracks were full of dirt and bugs. There were cobwebs in the corners and even a spider eating a cockroach in one. I had contacted the host about the lack of cleanliness by the second day but they didn’t offer to have it cleaned. On top of the cleanliness there were frustrating repairs that need to be done. The screen door is broken and off the track. There is a hole in the ceiling in the larger bedroom. The bathroom door knob sticks so my kids would get stuck in the bathroom.The building is also adjacent to a public park and road that is very loud with joyriders and partying come evening. My kids struggled to sleep in the room next to the road because trucks and people burning out were so loud.Overall, it’s not as great as it seems online.
