Built in 1880, Two Room Inn is a historic Victorian in downtown Nevada City featuring stained-glass windows and warm wood interiors. The home offers two king bedrooms (one upstairs with private balcony), 1.5 baths, a cozy living area, private landscaped backyard, and on-site parking. Walk to cafés, shops, events, and trails. Central heating is temporarily offline; supplemental heating is provided for comfort. Exterior-only security cameras monitor the front and rear entrances.

I cannot recommend enough staying at the Two Room Inn when making a trip to Nevada City/Grass Valley. The house and host are simply fantastic, and you can't ask for a better location.

Charming Victorian in the Heart of Town

This is one of the most unique properties we have stayed at in a very long time. The Two Room Inn is a charming Victorian in the heart of town, close to everything Nevada City has to offer. Everything is minutes away. The owner/manager was very responsive & answered all our questions before & during our stay. I would recommend this lovely home to anyone interested in exploring lovely Nevada City.

Stained Glass House

One of the most interesting houses we have stayed in. So much character with all of the beautiful stained glass windows. Location was perfect for walking around Nevada City to enjoy shopping and restaurants. Love this house!

Lovely historical home in the heart of Nevada City

This is a wonderful historic home with all the modern comforts. You can enjoy the great 'bones' of a historic building, including beautiful stained glass windows, and distinctive views from the top of Broad Street over the historic district, as well as lovely, well-maintained furniture, modern kitchen and washer/dryer, and modern heating, lighting, Internet, etc. Many historical sites within easy walking distance. This is our second stay and I hope we will return again!

Winter Solstice Holiday

My family loves Nevada City and has visited on multiple occasions throughout the year. I've always wondered about the Victorian cottage on Broad Street and was excited to finally stay here. It is a charming and cozy place with stained glass, velvet drapes, framed pressed flowers, and wood furnishings. I loved walking to the shops and cages. It was also an easy commute for a day trip to Tahoe.

A true gem in Nevada City. You can’t find a better location or more charm. The owner and property manager were both very responsive. I’d like to see better twin beds, this ol’ body does not do well on squeaky trundle bed. I love this house though, it is truly very special.

Wonderful Inn with a perfectly located in downtown Nevada City- cozy and comfortable

I visit Nevada City several times a year and this is my first time staying at the Two Room Inn. I have always admired it and was excited when we booked if for my husband, son, and I at Thanksgiving. Both my husband and son are over six feet tall so space is always a consideration when I’m looking for accommodations for us. The inn was perfect for us! The living area is so spacious and there’s a wonderful view of downtown. There is a coffee station which we took advantage of every morning- a big plus :) In warmer months I’m sure we would take advantage of the cute outside areas. One thing to consider is the location is not the quietest- but if you are in town that’s to be expected. We would definitely book the Inn again (as well as some of our other out of town family members as a few popped in to check it out) It’s unique, comfortable, the windows are beautiful and I loved the decor. The upstairs bed was very comfortable as well. There are two parking spaces which is a huge plus in town! The owner is very responsive if you have any questions . We didn’t have any issues and look forward to staying here again!

Wonderful historic home in downtown Nevada City

Two Room Inn is at the top of Broad Street in Nevada City, in the heart of the historic downtown. It's a Victorian building with charming interior and exterior, including many stained glass windows (we wonder if it was previously associated with the church next door, as a residence or hall). You can look out the windows or sit on the porch and watch Broad Street activity, or face into the garden with redwood trees. The furnishings are very comfortable and well-maintained, yet completely appropriate to the Victorian ambience. Kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and everything needed if you want to cook or just make a pot of tea. There's a modern washer and dryer, refrigerator, and gas stove. Bed in the attic bedroom is comfortable and cozy -- and overall, we never needed to change the pre-set temps for the heating, even though we were visiting as a cold storm front arrived. We were toasty! Modern fixtures in the bathrooms including shower/tub upstairs with modern tiling. Communications with the owner were great. Highly recommended.

I chose this location because you can park once and walk to everything, coffee, wine bars, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and live music. It’s the perfect blend of small-town charm, natural beauty, and convenience.

The Two Room Inn is a true Victorian cottage with features that are rarely found together: preserved redwood and elm interiors, English stained glass, a cobblestone fireplace, multiple outdoor spaces, flexible sleeping arrangements, and a private backyard, all steps from Broad Street. It has the feel of a historic hideaway with the convenience of being right in the heart of town. The home has been thoughtfully maintained over decades, and guests consistently comment on how warm, charming, and memorable the space feels.
