The location was a 10/10. Close to shops and being in the beach was spectacular. Kitchen was well equipped. Bed was comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was clean.. You can tell the owner is well on their way to updating this home. I recommend this rental.?

The property location and views were spectacular – hard to beat. That said, we had sugar ants all over the kitchen counters, the hot water tap in the kitchen, makes a random gurgling sound - the first few times it scared us, but then we got used to it, no heat in one downstairs bedroom (it was very cold), the front door/lock information that was sent to us to get in the property was not accurate – we had to call a number to find a key in a different location to access the front door, all cookie sheets/baking pans were coated in grease and dirty – not usable, sheets on beds could stand to be replaced – rough and clearly old - found hair in one bed. Because it’s a dog friendly property we understood that there may be pets in the attached townhome. Yes, there were dogs next to us who barked nonstop when the guests/pet owners left them. We didn’t call it in because we knew we would be leaving shortly each time the dogs would bark– not the most relaxing time. (We did tell the dog owners when we saw them at check out)

The view was amazing! The location was perfect! We loved staying here. The only problem was the lack of cable tv and spotty WiFi but we managed to entertain ourselves by more walks on the beach! I look forward to staying here again.

Definitely an older unit, updating would really improve overall quality!Couch, screens on windows, interior painting, table, We enjoyed the ocean side feature, the deck outside, the beds were comfortable!Windows were not very clean, hot tub access difficult, and overall kitchen not very clean!

Overall, our stay at the house was pretty good!Pros-view was amazing!-listing was as advertised (3 bed/3 bath, open garage for car, usable hot tub, path to beach)-kitchen was well stocked with dual ovens, which is sometimes lacking in rentals. Could have cooked easily if desired.-didn't really hear the guests at all in the attached unit-no complicated departure tasks. Simply lock up and leave. Loved it!Cons-as others have noted, it could have been a little cleaner & ready for arrival. There was a fair amount of sand in the hot tub, which I know is hard to control, but also significant dust/dirt on top of fridge, floors were a little sandy, etc. Nothing major though, but we've stayed in cleaner units. Soap was also empty in one of the showers.

The pros: the views, one comfortable bed that is upstairs, spacious and equipped kitchen, lots of bathrooms, 90% tiled floors, a quiet duplex( did not hear my neighbors), the beach as your backyard and accessed through your downstairs bedroom sliders. The cons: arrival instructions for access were not accurate. Door does not have an electronic deadbolt which the instructions said to enter a code. It had been replaced with a standard deadbolt . I had to call the local attendant for access, and noted by other tenants previously. Why not just update your entry instructions that you emailed to me? The house is worn to a point of needing attention. Downstairs the beds are firm but not very comfortable, bathroom with tub does not drain, light bulbs randomly burned out, USB charge port in light fixtures damaged and potentially a hazard, jacuzzi was not chemically ready with bromine, resulted in being slimy and soured. We found bromine tablets and added to the floater, but we never got back in.Upstairs we fought ants in the kitchen, window seat was fun but fabric is stained and cushion thin. Furniture is Very uncomfortable and very low grade. No fans or ac, you must lower blinds by noon to avoid the room temp from getting very warm. 81degrees inside on a low 70s sunny October day. Cooled down at dusk though, thank goodness!Consider installing ceiling fans and an split unit for ac upstairs. If you gave this place a little more TLC I would want to stay here all the time.

Perfect Retreat!

My adult children, our dogs and I had a fabulous stay! Such a cozy space! The kitchen had everything we needed and the view, deck and beach access were perfect!

35th bday vacay

My fiancé had to work days and this was perfect, but also an amazing vacation spot. It was huge, clean and you can see the waves from every major room.

Rockaway Splendor

Well stocked, excellent view and access to beach. Quick response from guest services when needed. Hot tub was Hot and Bubbly. Great stay.

Great views

The place was great. It is not updated but everything was clean and comfortable. And you can’t beat the view and beach access. Our family of 4 was comfortable and happy.

This was a special family trip because of our granddaughter, 14 months. The view was fantastic. House was clean, lots of towels, the beds were so confortable. Lots of room for our family of 6 plus baby. They had beach toys for our granddaughter. Kids enjoyed the hot tub. However, when we got there around 7pm, the upstairs (living room/kitchen) was around 70 degrees. We had to leave the front door open to get some cool air flow through the house because the AC didn't kick in right away. We closed the blinds when the sun was out because it'll make the living room feel like a sauna. We did turn on the AC but it helped when we opened the front door for a little bit. The pillow cases were not washed because they smell like sweat. The body soap for all 3 bathrooms were empty. There was laundry detergent in a tin can, 3 small pods, and looked yellowish,, looked old and didn't smell so refreshing. The showers downstairs were draining so slow. I don't think I will be reserving this house again. We did go to the store, which is not far, and bought detergent and body soap. I don't think the house was worth the price we paid for. I will not reserve this house again. I did not want to post this for others to see because of the things we didn't like, but thought we share with the owner so they can maybe help the next renters and maybe hire another housekeeper to help.

Great view

Beach access was not what it looks like. Ned to climb up and down rocks but the view is awesome and the beds are comfy

Great view, walkin in the sand, gettin wet in the ocean, sittin by the fire watchin the waves! Ahhhhh, a very relaxing mini vacation! Very comfy place. Beds were great and towels were thirsty! Thank you so much!!

Peaceful

We love our home in rockaway. Our view from the dining room was mesmerizing. For my family the ocean is calming and relaxing. Although our fireplace did not work in February we fully enjoyed our stay and will rent this home again from vrbo

Great beach location

Right on the beach. Perfect view of Ocean. Everything was well laid out in the house and easy to find. Clean. Parking in garage and off street. Not far from the main shop area of Rockaway Beach. We walked on the beach from house to the main beach park area. Not far and a fun walk with kids. Then walked to town for shops. Great stay and would stay here again.

Great place to stay

Sand in the hot tub, sand inbetween cracks in living room sofa, a little bit of sand in the bed. The bunk bedroom bathroom door felt stuck, and no light in the ceiling. Those are minor complaints. I would expect sand since so close to the beach. We all loved the place. Would definitely stay again next time
