Make yourself at home here at Sand Castle Villa 1, a gorgeous unit in a duplex right on the beach! Enjoy a cottage-like feel with a condo-style floor plan, amazing amenities, and the beauty of the Oregon Coast that surrounds you while you stay here.



Located just a few minutes from Rockaway Beach, and within a stumble-step to the water, enjoy the Oregon Coast intimately and without the hassle of driving. Take a stroll into town for coffee or a kayak rental - it's only a half mile away from your front door!



Sand Castle Villa 1 is a duplex unit of a larger home, Sand Castle Villa, which can be rented as an entire home (see page for details). With its gorgeous views of the ocean from a full wall of windows in the living space, marble accents, and beach-themed decor, this home is all about comfort. Enjoy the plush seating in the living area, and the views from the dining table. Watch cable on the mounted TV.



The kitchen is ready for you to roll up your sleeves and do your best culinary work: with all the important appliances and plenty of counter space, you can make any meal you so desire - from lobster dinner to cereal!



This unit has three bedrooms and three bathrooms: two kings and four twins, plus a bathroom per room, so no need to share the shower or fight for mirror time! This unit of Sand Castle Villa comfortably sleeps eight guests. The rental also includes WiFi, a garage, a private hot tub, and a washer/dryer.



Soak up the Oregon Coast with beach combing, long walks, or hiking in the state parks. Enjoy the views from cafes and eateries in Rockaway Beach proper. Or sit on your own patio, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the closeness of the ocean from your own beach cottage.

Rockaway Splendor

Well stocked, excellent view and access to beach. Quick response from guest services when needed. Hot tub was Hot and Bubbly. Great stay.

Perfect Retreat!

My adult children, our dogs and I had a fabulous stay! Such a cozy space! The kitchen had everything we needed and the view, deck and beach access were perfect!

35th bday vacay

My fiancé had to work days and this was perfect, but also an amazing vacation spot. It was huge, clean and you can see the waves from every major room.

Great views

The place was great. It is not updated but everything was clean and comfortable. And you can’t beat the view and beach access. Our family of 4 was comfortable and happy.

Beach access was not what it looks like. Ned to climb up and down rocks but the view is awesome and the beds are comfy

WOWZA BABY!!

Great view, walkin in the sand, gettin wet in the ocean, sittin by the fire watchin the waves! Ahhhhh, a very relaxing mini vacation! Very comfy place. Beds were great and towels were thirsty! Thank you so much!!

We love our home in rockaway. Our view from the dining room was mesmerizing. For my family the ocean is calming and relaxing. Although our fireplace did not work in February we fully enjoyed our stay and will rent this home again from vrbo

Great place to stay

Sand in the hot tub, sand inbetween cracks in living room sofa, a little bit of sand in the bed. The bunk bedroom bathroom door felt stuck, and no light in the ceiling. Those are minor complaints. I would expect sand since so close to the beach. We all loved the place. Would definitely stay again next time

Great beach location

Right on the beach. Perfect view of Ocean. Everything was well laid out in the house and easy to find. Clean. Parking in garage and off street. Not far from the main shop area of Rockaway Beach. We walked on the beach from house to the main beach park area. Not far and a fun walk with kids. Then walked to town for shops. Great stay and would stay here again.

Location is everything

Perfect location, right on the beach! Condo rooms are as advertised. It needs a thorough cleaning and has some minor maintenance issues. Bring your own can opener, we couldn’t find one there. The knives mentioned in previous reviews were still very dull. There is eco-safe shampoo. The town is quiet and the neighbors friendly. You’ll want oysters, visit The Fish Peddler!

Very nice, but some years from now we'll become unable to handle the stairs

Beautiful view and beach access, and clean, comfortable lodging. A few dings: kitchen/living area is up a very long flight of stairs from parking/entry level, so this is not an ideal property for the aged; the hot water faucet at the right-hand vanity in the upstairs bathroom does not work, and a few other faucets including the kitchen are not properly secured to the counter tops; one of the LR side chairs is missing a leg bolt, and the other bolts on that leg were very loose, which might have caused an injury if someone had tried sitting in it before I noticed this and tightened the two extant bolts.

Beautiful ocean views

House very clean as we were worried, but they took extra care as far as we could tell. The view from the dining room/kitchen (2nd floor) is amazing! Right on the beach, it’s really nice to have the access. Only issue is no privacy with neighbors as this is a townhome that shares the back patio that looks out on the beach. Our room didn’t have adequate blinds so anyone could walk by and see in but to have to beach right there was worth it. Slept like a baby! Beds were comfy and lots of pillows and blankets. Heaters worked great at night so not sure why others complained before. Would book here again!

Beautiful view!

Some of the sheets on the beds and bathroom towels had hair on them, so we washed them. The window in the dining room started leaking quite badly, so we called to report the situation. Also the refrigerator started to leak under the bottom grill, but seemed to stop during the night. We took out as much of the garbage as we could (the outside garbage can was already full). Otherwise everything was wonderful!!

Steps to the beach, plus hot tub!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sand Castle 1. Highlights were: the hot tub overlooking the ocean, the views from the kitchen/dining room/living room, the cozy fireplace with timer, well stocked kitchen, the bunk beds for our kids, the fact that we couldn't hear our neighbors in the other half of the duplex, though it was occupied all three nights we were there, the washer and dryer for cleaning towels after hot tubing, and that we could walk down some rock steps and be right on the beach! It was delightful. The bunk room, one bedroom and two baths are on the main floor with the one-car garage. The kitchen, dining room, living room, and a bedroom and one bath are on the 2nd floor. The place is showing some wear, as others have said, but it was very clean.

Pacific Northwest Vacation

We enjoyed our time in the Sand Castle. The ocean views from the living room and hot tub were wonderful. Comfortable beds and nice linens made our stay pleasant. Things that would have improved our stay are as follows: the bunk bedroom smelled like cat urine , clothes/ linens would catch in dryer and leave rust stains on them, and no available extra trash bags. FYI--you need to contact the electric power company regarding the poor/ arcing connection that is providing power for this property and several of the other adjacent properties. It looked and sounded like the hot tap feeding the transformer was arcing. This could damage electrical equipment in this properties. I just have 30 plus years of experience with these types of problems working for power companies. Regards

House needs help!

We are not new to VRBO, so we have a good set of expectations, but this was a trying experience. Hot tub was not ready, ovens do not work, toilets leak. No toilet paper in 2 of the 3 bathrooms....Really sad as you can see how cool of a house this could be. I do not think the management company spends enough time on this property. The owners of the home will be disappointed when they return.....While the local folks seemed very nice, even offering for us to use their oven.....its just not enough for the price of the property. The view is amazing, the house just needs some care.

Great Views, Not Great House

Hot tub was open and freezing when we arrived, didnt warm up until we were about to leave at the end of the weekend. It was the whole reason we chose this place and we couldn't enjoy it until the last hours of our last morning. Big bummer. Also, house isnt very well maintained. There was a lot of deterioration to doors facing the ocean and during a big storm the first night a lot of water was getting into the bedrooms. We tried reaching out to the hosts about these things, never got a response. Great location, pretty good ameneties for the price (if we could have used the best one!!) but the property owners clearly dont care for the house.

Not as advertised

I booked this property because it said it had a hot tub. After booking and being sent a no cancellation notice we were sent an email saying the hot tub was not working. VRBO seems to have no info to speak with anyone. You have to deal directly with the property owner even though you book through VRBO and they claim to have a stress free process. Good luck finding any numbers or contacts for anyone at VRBO. I was able to contact Vicassa. They said we could cancel if we wanted after receiving the email. It was a take it or leave it deal. When we arrived at the house there was a giant pool of water in the living room from the freezer defrosting. The fridge was not working when we arrived. All of our groceries for the week were compromised. The reason they said the hottub was out of order was a storm took away the cover. When we arrived the hot tub had a cover on it and was all locked up in a way you cannot get the lock off. Even though they give you a key. After all the frustrations with the hot tubs and fixing the fridge myself the house itself is in a pretty spectacular spot right on the beach. The house is super outdated but still pretty amazing because of the location. The view is amazing from the living room and the 2 bedroom's downstairs. We have 2 little girls and they had a blast. We came from out of the US to rent and wanted to keep our cell service from roaming but all communication is done last minute from these guys for door codes etc. so we had to use roaming on cell phones to receive text messages. You really get the feeling they want you in and out at a premium. Check in at 4pm and out at 10am??? First and last days are a wash.
