A studio in Midtown Manhattan on the third floor with an elevator. The apartment fronts a cross street with windows that are pretty good at keeping the noise out, although the Frigidaire air-conditioning makes its own 70 dB of noise. There's an elevator, which is not usual for older buildings in this part of town. The apartment is generally tastefully furnished with minimalist but generally good quality furniture such as table, chairs and mattress. There's a smart TV with some local channels and access to most of your pay-subscription options. The apartment is well-aged and rather cramped, except for the siting space which has a coffee table and 3/4-person sofa (that can convert to a double bed. Ironically, the TV remote only works within about 40 inches of the TV so it can't be operated from the sofa making the extra space a liability rather than a benefit for couch potatoes. There's a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and plenty of hangers for the two closets. The renter has stored some things in the closets, but there is still amble space for one or two persons' clothes. The bed is oddly nailed into the wall, apparently so it can't be moved. However, by doing so the bed becomes a single instead of a double as you can only enter from one side. The 'single bed' is large and comfortable. There were good sheets and comforters/duvets. There were also bath towels and hand towels provided. The landlord was good, but VRBO not reliable as booking agent.
